Hi Amanda, I have found the same problem with my Gortex suit re the pockets. the only thing I can fit in the trouser pockets are my keys! I can't put anything in the jacket outer pockets other than my earplug box as the jacket pockets "Fold" when I sit on the bike but I dont use my suit constantly like you so it is something I can live with. The main reason I bought the Gortex trousers is I would put on my rain jacket if it started raining but was too lazy to put on the trousers so always got wet. Living in Scotland rain is a common occurance lol. After seeing how dry the trousers kept me I bought the Gortex jacket the following season and dont want to go back to carring a rain jacket and trousers to put on over my ridding gear. Looked at other waterproof suits but decided Gortex was worth the extra money. Rob
ОтветитьA clear explanation. Love my Klim Artemis jacket a lot. Simple because it's designed for us women. Boob vented as well.
I would love to change my boots, but I've tried so many brands and models that I lost hope. My calves are too big. So am thinking of switching to Hiax firemen boots. They are sturdy, durable and with goretex.
For the rest I want to change my pants. Still have one of Dane, but wish to change them to Klim as well.
Am really happy with my two pairs of gloves (dane goretex and Klim summer airy gloves) and I love my Shoei helmet with the self colouring screen.
Great fair gear review
ОтветитьI took my duck bill visor off, omg what difference, thanks
ОтветитьA buddy of mine just got the GT930 at the beginning of the summer, now I may have to as well. Was looking at some cheap Amazon knock-offs but I value my head a bit more than that lol. Hope you're on the mend Amanda!
Ответитьim gettin' out and doing "the thing" in a few weeks and i cannot wait
ОтветитьGreat video 👍🏼👌🏼
ОтветитьGreat job Darlin', I'm getting the Sand possibly for my AU trip. Yes double zippers been around years...HD and Bilt...long time, but glad you are enjoying the upgrades!..
ОтветитьWhat I really appreciated in this video was the honesty of the shortcomings of some of your gear. All bikes, gear and whatnot have their warts. I believe that solid testimonies like yours provide an invaluable service to the moto community, let alone women riders. Outstanding work! Eric
ОтветитьPants and jackets I source from other industries. It's tougher, pockets are right where they need to be. I use an old reliable rain suit for wet or cold days. Gloves are a full grain leather street glove with the armor and sliders. And MX boots, with a couple pairs of waterproof socks.
I love MX pants, even for long travel but no one makes proper pockets on any of the brands.
Amazing how you pick up little pro/cons about gear as you use it. You just don’t know what works until you use it for extended period of time, and it almost always with buying the best you can.
ОтветитьI watch you from time to time. When I have watched you, you are camping and eating ,on the road. Do you do much boondocking?
ОтветитьReally like the Sand 4 H2O jacket. Enjoyed the video thank you.
ОтветитьESC: my issue is riding pants. Either I can't get the sizing right, or they don't hold up to long distance rides.
ОтветитьThank you for the tip for the ear protection 👍🏻👍🏻
ОтветитьMy biggest pain point gear was my Arai helmet. It has a gnarly forehead pain point and fogged up horribly. I replaced it with the Shoei Neotec 2 for road rides and the Shoei Hornet 2 for off-road ride. The Shoei helmets fit perfect for me and take much longer to start fogging up.
ОтветитьGoing to get T-Shirt made saying (PLEASE DONT NARCAN ONLY SLEEPING) after some older lady tried to Narcan me for falling asleep on bench at rest stop. Been on motorcycle for 14 days out west. Was very tired but needed no Narcan. Lol
ОтветитьHave you changed to an Africa Twin? Seems like it’s in this video a bunch.
Ответитьall the dirt style visors have fasteners so that you can replace them ....or just take them off and put them in a closet or the garbage nice gear review thank you
ОтветитьI love revit for their clothes, and seriously wanted to get the Sand4 but the sizing is completely off for me. I tried the short versions of pants and the length was good and the width around my waste as well, but there was sooooooooo much space in the legs, there was so much material that I could seriously squeez in two legs into one if zi wanted to. Similar situation with jacket — sleeves ok, boobs ok (a close fit actually, so any smaller and I wouldnt be able to zip up) but there was so much extra material around the sleeves and shoulders… I dont know, it like the whole set was off… ;( Its a shame because my Sand 3 set fits me perfectly, but its just old now and requies and upgrade..
Ответить@As the Magpie Flies >>> "Under-Boob Vents"
FWIW: NEVER heard of those before -- I mean the VENTS 😉 -- but also a TOTALLY REASONABLE FEATURE...👍👍
Revit is such a strange company. Everything I have of theirs has some major issue with the design that makes me question how much they actually tested it on human beings. Quality is usually great, but ergonomics are so off sometimes. They need to do better.
ОтветитьMe and rain gear still do not get along, at all. :(
ОтветитьHow did you like the Africa Twin?
ОтветитьGreat video and congrats on the sponsorship. Well deserved
ОтветитьI have the Scorpion EXO Yosemite as well. A bit heavy and crunchy and with the waterproof liner inside I worry that if I do get caught in heavy rain the outer shell will soak up water like a sponge.
ОтветитьAnother problem with the fanny (US fanny, not UK) pockets, like on Scorpion EXO Yosemite is when you put the insulated liner or a small down jacket in there and then sit on your bike, the bulk pushes up your back protector, assuming you use one, making it hard to rotate your head back because the lower part of the rear of your helmet gets blocked.
ОтветитьThank you! You just helped my wife a TON!! She's looking to upgrade some of her gear, and as I'm sure you're aware, women's gear is so much harder to get right than men's.
ОтветитьBoth of my Joe Rocket jackets have the dual-zippers in front...I'm going to upgrade my pants this winter my $70.00 specials from 2016 Ebay were never great to start with but still perfect shape and water proof..hot AF in the summer (no vents)...looking forward to having a nice pair of touring pants I like the ones you're showing a lot.
ОтветитьAfter going through different makes and types of gear I eventually plumped for Rukka gear. Warm but well ventilated when needed, most importantly 100% waterproof in extended downpours. Saves the hassle of struggling in and out of overtrousers and jackets (which leave you feeling like you're in a sauna and wet because they don't breathe)
ОтветитьI notice that sometimes you wear glasses, but a lot of the time you don't. Do you wear contacts when you're not wearing your glasses? I'm a full time glasses wearer, but I've heard from some other riders that contact lenses are nearly impossible to ride with because the wind and eye drying.
ОтветитьGreat review, If I may, here's my two cents worth.I like leather jacket and pants so I use Columbia out/dry overcoat and overpants and XXL black nitro mechanics gloves over my leather gloves.Harley rain over boot covers and XXL black nitro mechanics gloves over my leather gloves. This keeps me dry all day in the heaviest rain storm.
ОтветитьYou should try the Forcite Helment if you do a lot of filming. I like your honesty
ОтветитьI want that jacket...boob vents 😁😂. I'm currently riding in a Stealth men's jacket that has loads of pockets, road boots, thick baggy denims, Ixon gloves and Acerbis ADV helmet which I love. Pushes my chubby cheeks up but it's comfy and snug
ОтветитьGreeting Amanda on this last day of 2022.
I'm just going back to your video to watch again as I am looking for cold/rain weather gear.
I absolutley enjoy your content, honest reviews and sense of humour.
All the best in the coming new year (2023) with more adventures for you! And for me too hopefully.
Ride safe and throroughly enjoy!!!
Thanks for the info and review. I wonder if you have looked at Aerostich Darien Jacket and Pants (or AD1 pants). They work really well across a wide temperature range when layered, have great venting options, and are made in the USA. It seems pretty perfect for your needs. Ride safe!
ОтветитьI run the same Revit sand 3 glove (men's), and love em!!!
ОтветитьGreat reviews! You have a way about you that makes your videos really easy to watch.
ОтветитьDid I miss it? Do you discuss the issues with the Yosemite in one of your other videos?
Ответить당신의 여행에 박수를 보냅니다
ОтветитьThat little squeegie/wiper on the left index finger is a tremendous feature on motorcycle gloves. So is the drop-down sun shield in a helmet. Excellent informational video, Amanda! Thank you for sharing you knowledge and experience.
ОтветитьWhat about trying an Aerostich motorcycle suit?
ОтветитьI'm 5'3" and 170#, I had to go to Aerostich in Duluth MN to get gear custom sized to fit me. The gear is awesome, but expensive.
ОтветитьI'm going to tell my sister about that jacket! On one particularly hot riding week she was buying crushed ice from gas stations and stuffing it in her bra.
ОтветитьExcellent advice, you are a great presenter and rider!
ОтветитьThanks Amanda. I’ll look into what they have that I might like. Larry in Fort Worth
ОтветитьGood info. I had the same Scorpion suit and it ventilated so well that it did get chilly very easily. Unfortunately I hit a deer in June and while I did break some bones and a bit of rash on my palm, the suit did a very very good job of protecting me. I was looking at this Rev’it for my wife, and a Rev’it Cayenne for me. Thanks
ОтветитьBloody marvelous gear review, definitely a lot to consider when buying gear. A big thanks to yourself and all the other test pilots out there reviewing gear. Keep living the dream love 🐒
ОтветитьAgree a 100% regarding the revit sand 4 man edition. It has been my jacket since launch about 3 years and just bought another one for my wife. It’s amazing. The revit rain suit is also amazing. I did 1000kms in the pouring rain from Lisbon to Barcelona and 0 wet clothes!
