Attack on Titan's Ending is Complete & Utter Trash: Eren Yeager's Assassination

As a huge AOT fan I needed this video. I’m in a weird place with this ending. I don’t HATE it but this ending didn’t satisfy me and got me feeling empty inside since it’s over as well as it feeling like nothing truly got solved

In my mind the ending is just Mikasa's fanfiction so the ending is literally for us to decide

Are you guys making another video now that the anime finale was released? I watched this without noticing it came out 2 years ago and I was also listening to it so did not notice the absence of finale anime clips. However, I don't know if the anime did actually cover anything different because I felt the same frustrations mentioned in this video! So many plots were inconclusive!

Why do people think Eren stopped at 80%? He didn't stop, he WAS stopped at 80%. All he did was keep moving forwards, and if his friends were able to stop him, then so be it

Did yimir control eren? Or Eren controlled eren but eren didn't really want to do what eren did but he just thought he had to do it?.... To save paradis island, after armin, mikasa and the gang kill alot of there friends/comrades on paradis island and getting alot of changed into titans due to the wine? Tbf eren didnt want to zeke to turn them into titans.. atleast thats what i think as he told zeke to wait. Then after all that its all pointlessly as 80% of the world died anyway??

The main ideal for eren and aot at the start for me was that we DONT WANT POINTLESS DEATHS which is how the survey corps where viewed as in episode 1.

Then everything turns out to be pointless. If zeke just spoken to erwin at the start they could of done the euthanization plan.

The original plan of erasing memories of eldians and living iggnoratly behind the walls is better!

Not a fan of this interpretation, dude keeps changing the point he’s trying to make and is contradicting himself over and over again.

Disclaimer I liked the ending but I can understand why people wouldn’t. It has a bunch of flaws but the ones mentioned in the first 20 minutes of this video are not. I had to tap out after 20.

Whilst I believe there are convenient plot devices used in the show and that the ending is pretty much left for open interpretation, there are a few creative explanations I've seen to some of the plot points. It feels kind of convenient that Eren only remembers memories from the past users of the attack titan when the story needs him to. Him having to kill his mom seems kinda random, the story goes to say it is to drive his path for revenge and to prevent Berthold from dying as it was not yet his time, apparently.
Eren to me wasn't a morally good character as many have put him up to be, as a role model or symbol of hope, but a violent person who shifts the enemy, seeing how he becomes compassionate to a titan after he finds a new enemy (the world). Someone who only knows violence as a choice, while the anime goes to say that he has tried different solutions, perhaps different timelines of memories from attack titan abilities in which there is no peace for Eldia and decided this was the only way where there is some resolution in his eyes , this is however just speculation. All we know is that the memories had further fueled his violence, his only way of solving things. This creates a pretty selfish + tragic character intentionally.
The whole 80% thing can be said as while Eren wanted to complete it, he also wanted his friends to become heroes by challenging and killing him, hence he not disabling the other titans. We assume he could forsee his time of death from future memories, but not control the actions of others that lead to his death.
Stopping the rumbling could have been done by Ymir and not the death of Zeke, seen by the frame with Ymir observing Armin and Zeke conversing about the meaning of life in simple things and not just for multiplication. This was probably the point of Armin in the paths with Zeke.
The population in AOT universe is different to ours, where many centuries of peace can be seen in the end frames of the show ie development of advanced cities ahead of our own time, perhaps implying that either mainly Eldians were survivors or that people created peace temporarily as both Marley and Eldia carried blame in the bloodshed. The cycle repeats regardless of who was left alive.
Ymir's background is believable as she was a child and had no reference to normal life. She had Stockholm syndrome seen in the frames of how she would be jealous of other women and how she sacrificed her life. He praised her for the first time and gave her children, giving her the illusion and longing for his love. Upon seeing Fritz callous reaction, she'd given up on life.
Mikasa was chosen as she was the one who could act in spite of love. The whole hallucigenia coming out is a strange and bad choice.
Eren x Mikasa wasnt really built up in a way that paid off to the viewer in the end. Its kinda impressive how the three main characters molded Ymirs actions in the end, but created a rather psychological and relationship based ending that was different tone of the show in early stages

So I got into AOT late, I watched ton of lore videos to help explain what’s going on, I feel like Eren is like Oppenheimer. He had a vision of how to save the world, and after bringing that vision to reality the guilt of what he did broke him. I just think it’s crazy that he knew this when he kissed historia hand and not when he touched the smile titan.

tbh i do not sympathize with eren, any eren. i don't know who anyone can sympathize with him, making character commit genocide is instan irredeemable and unforgivable villain, there are some lines that character can't cross if you want to make them the "morally right" and once character crosses those lines they lose all sympathetic trades they had. and before anyone says world hated the island well what about innocent animals? plants? mushrooms? creatures creating ecosystem everyone and everything needs? people who didn't even know this sick war existed?

i think the ending about how the wars continue and the cycle repeats with that boy and the dog, perfectly embodies the terrible universe of AOT. It was a perfect ending for a horror thriller anime to me. How could the ending be happpy for such a dark anime? I could not see an ending like that. personally

Eren used talk no jutsu on Ymir. Eren pulled a Madara and turned into Kaguyas Will or Ymir’s will. Eren pulled a Sasuke and said he would bear the hate of the world on his shoulders. Isayama just wanted to remind us why we hate Kishit moto and he pulled a Naruto never reaching his goals in his own show. Bc if it wasn’t for the release of Borito Naruto would have never become hokage. At least Eren was smarter than Obito and in capturing the tailed titans, bc he only captured 4 of them and knew that was enough. The only thing is he never used the war hammer titans ability until he transformed into the ten tails.
