I don't really enjoy coffee unless it's loaded with sugar and creamer, so I stick with tea; mainly Earl Grey. But I really enjoy your reviews regardless.

I just upgraded from this machine, I got it for Christmas and I'd say it's a good introduction to espresso. Double capsules did the job for quick morning lattes. Did not like the larger coffee capsules (very watered down coffee taste). I now have a bambino and it's a big step up but also costs a lot more (double when you get a grinder) and requires more work in the morning. Pods averaged to $1 or so per coffee and the grounds I get from our local shop is maybe 0.70 per cup, so a little price savings and you get the freedom to choose what grounds you want. All in all of you want quick espresso for lattes in the morning without learning what a portafilter is - Nespresso isn't a bad choice

I honestly don't understand why that "big" cup of coffee is so unappetizing - that's about the normal size of a coffee in Denmark anyway, and the crema or foam on top does make it look appetizing too me - and I'm guessing ir helps with holding on to taste and temperature.

Does anyone here remember the Tasimo coffee maker? That machine not only made pod-style coffee, but—it also included pods with “milk” (not sure what the real ingredients were, lol) that allowed you to sort of replicate coffee-shop drinks like lattes, and cappuccinos. I had one for years, until the heating element croaked, and then the company stopped producing the pods. I feel like it was the precursor to all Keurig machines, and yet no one seems to remember it. It was gross, but at the time it felt SO fancy. 😆

As someone with a Jura at home who bought a Nespresso Vertuo on eBay for £17, I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the shots from it. Still prefer the Jura by a mile but the Nespresso is very convenient if a little artificial in its drinks

I have been a Senseo addict so can totally appreciate the Crema or foam as you call it, Unfortunately the Senseo is no longer available and my 10 year old unit is on the way out. This looks like a perfect replacement.

The vertuo system, is definitely more convenient, and considering that I got the system for 60 £ along with 50 pods free and 12 pods included with it, I would say it was worth it.yes their pods are expensive, but if you find it hard to afford a fancy coffee machine priced at 500£ , I would say this is a very good alternative. The other plus is the Nespresso team’s customer service is brilliant, had a fault in my machine once,and they replaced it in no time. The coffee tastes great as well. I personally love the crema, yes,it does not taste like crème but it adds to the texture, and 230 ml of black coffee is something I need everyday.😮

Just make your own coffee and enjoy the process... you really dont want to tie your hands with a McDonalds type beverage.

Sounds like you liked the flavor and texture, but for some unexplained reason you think we should make coffee in another machine, then put it in a blender (presumable it will then be cold) rather than use this technology, do you have a problem with Nestle….😮

Certainly I feel pretty naïve, but I am learning and always intrigued how "complicated" coffee can be and mostly how it challenges people to perfect it. Enjoyable and informative video

I do have one of those! I love the textures and love the convenience of being able to make different sizes. I make lattes and macchiatos with the double espresso pod or gran lungo. I have come to know which pods I like best from nespresso but I just get the “flavored” ones because they are hands down the best! They taste like coffee and are strong but with nice aromas. I have a kit of reusable pods for nespresso so I buy any coffee I want and just use the reusable pod like a keurig, but I do like the nespresso extraction and texture better.

I also found the original line taste better than the spinny weir foam.

I have an unironic love of the nesspresso, my dad got one a couple months before I went to college and it is 100% the reason I like espresso and drink cafe moka like water.

The old ones break after few uses as they are cheaply build in china. This obviously is as well, however far many more parts to break. And the foamed coffee.. not sold at all.

When we first got one of these I didn’t realise the pod determined the size as it came with some glass cups and only one size of pods. I decided to use my new coffee machine, put a pod in and went and had a shower. I came out to find my kitchen was flooded with coffee that had overflowed the cup! It turns out the pods that came with it were meant for their absolutely giant travel mugs but nothing told me that!!!! I was late for work too so went to work flustered and severely lacking caffeine.

I have both the classic & the vertuo. I prefer the classic. The choices are more with the classic

Some of the science is interesting, although I got bored after 10 minutes. I now own the Nespresso Pod, as much for the aroma as for anything. I'm sure my sister, a true coffee gourmand, would poo-poo these, but they have their place (and I'm even a fan of Cafe Bustelo espresso instantivo!)

I love this machine. I don't have to use a blender on my coffee now to get that amazing taste. (sounds like i'm joking.. but I actually really love the texture!)

I just have it for a quick coffee here and there... usually i brew my own coffee wirh grinded beans and a normal filter. It still serves a purpose for me and some flavours are really nice. Especially intenso, its phenomenal.

Coffee is quite complicated 😏 That's why I go for convenience. That's why I have one of those machines 😎 Sorry not sorry 💭

The Vertuo is a gateway drug...I tasted one at a Macy's during Christmas a few years ago...we picked one up, and now I am looking into my first E61 model...at the time, it seemed next level...

I'm not saying I gotcha but.... And what an awful noise it makes!

I'm not a fan of the Nespresso, but unfortunately my wife is......sooooo, I just stayed with my Aeropress.

Got my virtuo for Christmas 3yrs ago with Milk frother. Wow. Blew my mind that i loved coffee as i do now. Cost of pods is definitely a negative. I have recently learned to refill my pods and am currently experimenting with different coffees and grinds for a favorite. I have a burr grinder and i am open to suggestions on coffee brand and roasts to try.

Coming to this late, but I have relevant experience! I made the enormous mistake of trying to carbonate cold brew and let me tell you, you'd know it if it was CO2. Oh my goodness you would know it. It was so bitter and *so sour*. Normally you don't tend to think those flavors happen together with coffee, right? They did with this, and it was undrinkably terrible. Don't carbonate your coffee, friends.

I am a coffee lover, and I wanted a pod machine so that I can make it fast when I don’t have the time. The problem was that a lot of the other pod machines coffee tasted terrible! We had a Tassimo for a while but I didn’t like the coffee from that all that much either. I did the research on the machines and the Nespresso vertuo had the best reviews for coffee taste. I am really happy with it and the coffee ☕️ I get out of it. Is it the best, no. Is better then instant or other pod coffees, in my opinion yes!

Of course people like it, why not to like it? It makes many, MANY varieties of great coffee, it's super convenient and stylish, it's less time consuming and it's relatively not expensive at all (you get machine for free with subscription).
