Well the most logical theory (self-made) would be that the "ULTRA" CPUs would be the former -K processors and the Core 5, Core 7 would be the normal ones. For example,

i7-15700 ----> Core 7
i7-15700K ----> Core Ultra 7

I am not expecting a Core Ultra 3 tho.

But this name change is shit tbh. The i7, i9 are some powerful-sounding names and well-known names.

So amd copying intel with this naming core i5 with ryzen 5. But now intel copying amd that copying them by removing i infront of it s number like ryzen 5 and now core 5. Not confusing at all

I think anyone that refers to a CPU by just "i7" or the like is a monster anyway. 14700k and 7700k are both "i7", but are very much not the same.

They can go with gen like "intel core 13 "

I hope they realise that everyone is just going to write the ultra 7 as u7, and possibly even the normal ones as c7 and ultra as cu7 like how ryzen is sometimes referred to as r7

They couldve just from the start gone 1, 2, 3, 4 and that wouldve been way simpler
