I know it isn’t necessary to point out flaws in a comedy sketch but as someone who’s installed many toilets I shudder think about the construction aspect of it. You’d need the toilet to be set so far out from the wall to accommodate a reclining tank that you probably have to move the wall itself because if you relocated the pipe in the floor then the toilet would sit too far out into the bathroom. Maybe just knock out a small section and set it back? That would impact the spacing of any room thy shared a wall with it though….

When I was researching about toilets on overseas trips, I was recommended this video, so I watched it.

In Japan, the lid was not reclining, and the lid got old and hardened.
It's not common in Tokyo toilets, but in some rural areas, you can end up in a really dirty toilet with a broken lid.
But that is rare.from JPN🇯🇵
