This song is the closest description I’ve ever heard of an experience I relate to. Anyone else ever feel a distinct separate between the autopilot software that runs your body and the one that makes up your consciousness? Or feel a different from the person who inhabited you yesterday and the person you are today, like shiftworkers conducting the same train?

i realized i had depersonalization/derealization symptoms back in like 2018 and it's a very strange sensation when you finally have a term to put to the feeling and research more. luckily i started meditating and finding ways to manage more..and pretty sure that preemptive training in meditation back then was the only thing that got me through 2020 to now lol...sooo thank you dissociative disorder, i guess?

I don't get the appeal of this guy whatsover, there are literally tens of thousands of bands/artists out there who are actually interesting/inspiring whereas this is boring AF and sounds like a shit combination of a collaboration between Meat Puppets and Beck Hansen, with the exception being they made some great music in their day

i was just on a long trip, got back from california, on the drive this was playing. and i imagined what everyone does. stickmen running beside the car, but not just one. 3. beating the living crap out of each other for fun, and since my imagination is just that strong somehow, i got them IN THE CAR. i have more friends now. i love em.

I was feeling frustrated that the people in my world don't find the same depth and attachment to this song that I do and wished that I could find someone who appreciates this song as much as me (for all the same reasons and more). And then I read all these comments and felt much better. I love the lyrics, the harmonies, the chord changes on the guitar, the drums, the rhythm, the background vocals, the video, the feeling of something so familiar and yet distant that it captures through the words and the music. Just brilliant.

Late September 2015. Fall had started, but the summer refused to go away, although the sunshine wasn't the same and I was about to embrace a intra-rail journey for a week around the country. This masterpiece was blasting all the time on my favourite radios and I was enjoying the threeling of being free and young. I didn't recognize myself at mirror, because I was discovering myself being a lonely travel. The song was a part of that journey, and really miss those days, every time I listen it.
