You bring up this subject and then everyone has something similar, just showing how revelent it was. Just love how the other guests run with the concept, and the originator never thought of them.

I remember P.G. Wodehouse phrasing in the same way. For example: Disgruntled. Far from gruntled. A brilliant author with a devastatingly funny approach to writing.

This sofa shows exactly what is wrong with the UK. Three representatives of music (dull music), comedy and acting. All three went to expensive public schools. It's the same everywhere now. Working or lower middle class? You won't get a look in unless you're maybe very, very, very good at football.

A chit on its own, by the way, is a receipt. Years ago, before the internet mom would sell her good wuakity clothes to a second hand shop. I would sometimes take them, and she would always say make sure you get a chit for them .

The best host never interrupts when it’s getting better unlike others goodness they love to but in and the story gets sour I just hate that… That’s why this is the pnly chat show I am watching. Chris Martin was so quick with his witty replies, Rosamund Pike kept it going, and McIntyre was good enough to respond to the logic of telling a joke (even if it's a bit of a spoiler) like a musician plays a song everyone already knows. Kudos to Graham Norton and his producers!

Fun fact: The word whelmed actually existed once during the middle ages and it meant the same as overwhelmed. People used more overwhelmed and with time whelmed felt out of common usage.
