This tutorial is a complementary update to the developer's 2016 video. The guys on the Slack forum gladly helped me get it running on Ubuntu 20.04.
Sir, you have a new subscriber.

Great video, thanks for this posing. My thought is if I want have my emails on another server then I might as well have my emails on another hosted email provider (free or paid) so why put it on another paid server provider where I don't know who is snooping or looking at my personal information and/or tomorrow they can go out of business. The risk is always there, also if something ever happens to me my family would not be able to access my email. I have a local service provider that allows me to run my own email server with the ports need to host email server.
Can you please do a video where an average person can do mail in a box self hosted Linux setup, domain by Godaddy? Thank you.

Is there a way to configure the eMail server to recall or make self-destructing email? Are there other free personal email servers that can do this?

Trying to find answer to these questions I have: a. my in-house mail server, what is it? An MTA, an MSA, something else? b. Where will I find the public IP I need for building this mail server? c. When I buy a domain, I am not interested at all buying web hosting. So, without any web hosting, will I have a public IP? d. If I build a cloud mail server on a server on a eg VPS, there, a mail account can be created. Also, if a mail server is built in house and not in cloud, also a mail account can be created in this email inhosted server. What is the difference between these two accounts? Thank you!

Hi Brian, a question about displaying avatar in the receiver's inbox and the name to be shown as sender. I have set up mailcow in a server and use that to create email ids and send emails. I've set up bimi record for my domain and uploaded a svg, but still the receiver of my email is not seeing the pic I uploaded as svg as my avatar. Have you ever tried setting up bimi? Thanks for your help.

More Mail-in-a-Box tutorials, please! This software has a TON of potential and is very powerful. You did a great job covering it, but maybe if you could start honing in on each feature and the importance of each, it would create great content. Thanks again.

I'm a noob at understanding mail servers. But, does this use Dovecat or something called Sieve, or can you install it? Here is my reason. I am a student, and I have one domain for email. But, I've got a ton of different email aliases. Yet, over time, some of them get junked up, so I'd like to point the Spammed ones to a Trash email folder. Would this be possible on this? [And, if you cover it in the video, I have not watched full thing yet, but I just wanted to get the question written out.] I hope it makes sense what I am asking. Thank you for your time on making this video, and I hope that you can find time to answer my question. Also, maybe, do a followup video and show more about this. Thanks, Poe ...

great video, thanks for posting! Very easy to understand and follow. What's interesting is I had to register my domain at Hover as Google Domains was giving me all kinds of issues when it came to setting up the glue records. For some reason I couldn't set up 2 dns servers with the same IP. Another thing I noticed is it takes a very long time to receive emails and those sent take a long time to show up on the other end. Any idea why? I'm hosting this in a DO droplet with 1GB / 1CPU.
