Rimworld Alpha 17 Guide: Is Ambrosia Worth It? Rimworld Drug Guide

Unfortunately there is no guide how to deal with a baRKy addiction

Im using Ambrosia right now on my colony.I had 4 ppl die and 2 got kidnapped in a raid.I had 2 pawns left and they where very sad,it helped get me through that time and now they are off of it and its a year later going good,lol.

I love selling drugs, they’re very light and can sell for a lot especially flake

I just keep it for low mood

Ambrosia has the least severe withdrawal, only -10 to mood, and your pawns won't even get addicted unless they have mental breakdown and binge on them or you mess up drug restrictions and feed them too often. It's very similar to Psychite tea and both are worth using for your nervous/depressive pawns in my opinion.

Have you thought about showcasing of hardcore sk?

It would make sense if you could grow them in a zone. No hydroponics id understand but i dont even use or look at ambrosia. I just ignore it because i cant even grow it.

Ambrosia is more food than drug. Actually, it IS food, it gives some rations and the addiction happens for only 10 days and it isnt dangerous.

He Forgot to mention that it is Used in making Glitter World Medicine. And you can Only Grow it in the High Tech Hydroponics Basins (after unlocking both in Research).

My colonists don't care about drug policy or restrictions. If I have any on the map they just go and use it until it's gone. It's the only drug they do his with. It seems to be when they are hungry when they do it.

I think its stupid because ALL my colonist are getting the binge thing -.-

I get what they are going for with ambrosia but it is... very week it needs to be a thing you can harvest every 3 days or so, it feels like an adjustment for something you should have surplus of endgame something that if you are just surviving is not worth the effort but once you are established a 25X25 plot of the stuff is harvested with ease, luxury for the sake of luxury.

I got one of these events in my settlement, Phoenix, within the first week. Now, once they grow, it'll be just in time for me getting an art trade set up, so then I'll basically be the merchant state of Rimworld.

I got like 3 of the events in a year but i did not pick them because i don't use drugs due to how risky they can be.....never thought of selling the drugs.....

there is a mod for this allowing it to be grown with growing skill 15+ and removed the addictiveness but only lets it grow on 100+% soil fertility

Wasn't Ambrosia being affected by blights patched though? As a wild plant it was supposed to be immune.

I had a colonist with ambrosia withdraw. He was fine. He just had a -10 mood debuff and if you have a decent colony it's fine.
