Every time when I hear "I want out" in chorus I want to yell "Aiming High"
ОтветитьMuch of this is hard to watch. That kiske turned out to be a giant poser. Please Helloween stop making videos.
ОтветитьAnother great band I’ve discovered thanks to this video series!! Thanks so much for my continued metal education!!🤘🤘
ОтветитьThe Death Metal compilation is so ridiculously important and deserves so much more attention than it gets!
ОтветитьShocked there’s no Savatage episode yet
ОтветитьOne of my favourite bands. Thanks for this. Very well done.
ОтветитьFirst saw "I want out" on Headbangers ball one night when I was teenager and still jam to it.
ОтветитьI think oernst is a corruption of the german word „Ernst“….Der Ernst des Lebens The seriousness of life…..
ОтветитьPumpkins united we are 🤘

ОтветитьAh, I've been looking forward to this one! 🥳😎🤘 Incidentally, I really dig Gamma Ray's No World Order! 🎸🎸🎸 (Also, great job on properly pronouncing those Teutonic names.) Finally, "I Want Out" was also my killer introduction to Helloween...Now, I'm kicking myself for dallying on the great self titled album I listed as main homework for today.😋
ОтветитьKeeper of the Seven Keys Pt 1 was the best metal album of its time, until Keeper of the Seven Keys Pt 2.
Ответить\m/ HAIL HELLOWEEN \m/
First 3 albums are utterly essential listening for anyone who calls themselves a metalhead.
Steel Tormentor & Time are gems from their mid period. The latest album is a modern classic.
Ingo is very underrated!!
Brilliant drummer. Very missed 🤘🙏
I remember an interview with Kai Hansen back in the 1990s, I think it was in a 'zine like Sentinel Steel or Crom. He explained that "Oernst" (pronounced "ernst") meant earnestness or seriousness, so "Oernst of Life" referred to coming of age and having to go out and get a job, etc.
My discovery of Helloween goes back to '89, when I saw a friend at my high school who had the t-shirt of their tour with Exodus. I asked , "How do they sound?" He said, "Cool!" Soon after, I heard "I Want Out" on KNAC (I grew up in SoCal), and bought cassettes of Keepers 1 and 2 from one of those mall record stores.
I missed "Pink Bubbles" and "Chameleon" (perhaps fortuitously), but picked up "Master..." and "Time..." when I was stationed with the Marines in Japan. I thought Andi's vocals were a throwback to Kai's raspy style, which I think fit their heavier direction. It's no secret why Kai decided to take Gamma Ray in a heavier direction with "Land of the Free" as a response!
Im still saddened by the fact that they let that arrogant primadonna Michael Kiske back into Helloween in recent times. Andi Deris should be the only vocalist for Helloween today (I dont mind Kai Hansen gueseting, whom i am a big fan of though).
This is a very well put together documentary at any rate. Thank you very much 👍
From What i have gathered throughout the years of information ive read and heard: Kai Hansen wanted "out" of Helloween because the band had been taken over by Michael Kiske and was moving in a direction that was just wrong in every sense. And now that bastard (Kiske) is back in Helloween.....and im sad.
Ответитьstay the same band would be something really new. every band wants to grow and stuff
ОтветитьYour drumming was of the scale Ingo. R.I.P. Helloween are one of those groups that went under the radar for so long and although their first two oferinbgs were pure speed, to me their collaborations with Michael Kiske were unbeatable.
ОтветитьI saw this guys in Milan, during the Keeper's tour. My first concert, with Dio headliner. 1987, what a beautiful year ❤
ОтветитьI feel like Helloween has been re- releasing the same album since "The Dark Ride".
ОтветитьI love Halloween. Watching "I want out" and seeing them running around reminds of The Monkeys, LOL.
ОтветитьMy teenage self is windmilling like MF
ОтветитьThe song is about Michael Kiske..(according. to Roland Grapow who wrote the song)
ОтветитьAll hail the Dark Ride!
ОтветитьListened to Keeper of the seven keys over and over back in the day. Loved it!
ОтветитьR.I.P INGO
ОтветитьLoved their early stuff and saw them live a few times. I lost track of them after seven keys part two, from watching this video, I can see why.
ОтветитьRide the skies BEST!!!
ОтветитьCan you make video about iron maiden 1980 2021
ОтветитьMan, between the first 3 albums and thr last one, there sure was a lot of garbage. I remember seeing them with Anthrax and Exodus at Long Beach...dude Walls and the 2 Keepers are among the best metal albums ever written. What the fuck happened in between? The latest is good but not quite close to the first three...still a good album, miles ahead of all the vomit they wrote after Keeper. This band is like Metallica, the came too soon and couldn't really recover their boner after that. Great video brother. Cheers.
Ответитьthe dude vacuuming kills me every time
ОтветитьIn a sea of apocalypse and Satanic imagery and the usual drink, drugs and fighting of 70's, 80's and into the 90's metal, tracks like "I'm Alive", "Future World", "Eagle Fly Free" and even "The Chance" were a blessed relief. Trailblazing Power Metal - with humour....who'd have thought!!?? The only down side was Helloween fans got called 'Weeners'' but f*ck 'em, Slayer are fans as was Chuck Schuldiner, bet Rob Zombie likes 'em too... how can you not? The biggest and best all-friendly metal band around, they toured with Overkill AND Bon Jovi FFS
ОтветитьMichael Kiske has the coolest voice to ever grace a metal band
ОтветитьThe two Keeper LPs are masterpieces
ОтветитьI LOVE this series of videos. Super in depth. You should really do Savatage next. You know the song Christmas Eve in Sarajevo? That's originally a Savatage song. John Oliva (vocals) formed Trans Siberian Orchestra after his brother Chris (lead guitarist) died in a car crash. Savatage doesn't get enough love and deserves a video. Check them out!
Albums to check out:
Hall of the Mountain King
Gutter Ballet
Power of the Night
Sirens
Streets: A Rock Opera
Edge of Thorns
All their albums are great really, but those are all top tier power metal greatness
Keeper of the seven keys 1&2 my personal favorites
ОтветитьI Want Out was the first Helloween song for me.
ОтветитьIt's always fun to me how you Americans do not understand music as Europeans do 😂 Helloween is a great example... Your audience do not like sound changes 😂. Byw... When the Siner it's a GREAT song . You just don't get it. * About Kiske you have not followed his career non rock/metal and rock/metal as well. Then came Masterplan with Jon Lande , then Avantasia... But it's not addressed to American public.
ОтветитьI love just a little sign. Its a happy place for me.
ОтветитьWow they got bad quickly. 😴
Ответить"Metal Jukebox is...an album that you could listen to" had me laughing so hard.
ОтветитьHow can you miss THE CHANCE highlight from the bad albums?? That song is timeless awesome. Also mentioning the live albums.
I loved the video, and the channel, thanks for your hard work.
I would have loved that you mention UNISONIC.
