OWC is just Ripping of its customers. they pretend they are the only one who can sell ram for mac computers. and in the end they just buy normal ram and rebrand it as OWC Ram and sell it expensive claiming better compatibility than other rams.

Hi, I need some help. I am looking to upgrade my iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014), Processor: 4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7, Graphics: AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4 GB
I use this mac for video editing and other graphic related work and it takes quite a long time to render the files.
What are my options here. Can I upgrade it to Intel® Core™ i9-10850K Processor 20M Cache, up to 5.20 GHz

Mate, thanks! Your video was instrumental in getting this done... Just got my 2019 27inch iMac upgraded from i5 8500 to i9 9900 (non k) and 1TB Firecuda 520 nvme ssd. I am getting drive speeds (R/W) of about 2800 - 3100 MB/s, quite good but far away from the promised 5000 MB/s of this drive. Learnt heaps in the process and got a few adrenaline rushes... Guys (we are all guys aren't we?) ... why do we have to undergo so much pain? ;-) Cheers

Couple questions. Was this the base model 2019? What did the NVMe SSD replace? The patriot replaced the Fusion drive (I'm assuming), and I'm confused now. Unless the Fusion drive is actually the HDD AND that stick you pulled off? Is that the "Fusion" part? I guess I just assumed they had created a drive with both inside one enclosure. Great video!

Thanks for this guide. I just upgraded my base model 27” 2019 iMac to an i9-9900k, 2TB Fledging SSD and 64GB RAM. I was hesitant to replace the thermal paste on the VRAM, rather than re-using what was there because it was very thick, but I applied a thick layer of NT-H2 thermal compound (thicker than I would apply to a PC) to the GPU, GPU and VRAM. Apple had tons of paste on there from the factory, so I figured I’d do the same.

I was able to upgrade my Mac to 2TB SATA SSD, 2TB NVMe SSD and 40 GB of RAM, but the Core i9-9900K upgrade didn’t work (black screen). Tried 4 times. I have a Core i5-9600K that I was able to put back in and it works. Do you know why the i9 won’t work? Is there something I have to do to the BIOS or anything in preparation?

Usually when you ready to do this upgrade you might be better by selling your iMac and building a solid hackintosh.

I wanted to get a MacBook Pro but there seems to be a long list of issues and quirks with those laptops right now I feel ike a 21 inch is just as portable for me as the MacBook, I just move it around in the house mostly to record
