I think you and a lot of people who make similar content to yourself struggle to understand that just because a person says they're a feminist doesn't actually make them one if they're redefining the movement at its core. feminism isn't "supposed" to be an advocacy of choice, it IS an advocacy of choice so when you see a person on the internet call themselves a feminist for shaming a woman willingly at home or in the workforce, they're not actually a feminist. the explosion of misinformation surrounding feminism in recent years is really odd and really easily disproven. lol

Yeah... I'm in a situation where I can't girlboss or tradwife. Too sick. But if I could, I'd still be somewhere in between. I love the idea of making my house a home, sewing my own clothes, eating from my own garden, also homeschooling etc. But I also want to write novels and run a business and I'm kinda meh about cooking and cleaning. Like I don't mind but I wouldn't have the time if I could do everything I want to do.

For me all those tradwives look extremaly fake. I'm a homestay mom, who homeschool three kids. Daily life of a real tradwife looks completly different. Perfectly clean and tidy house is beonde my wildest dreams. I can only keep it clean enough and somewhat tidy. I dress like that on sunday, when I go to church, not for baking bread on tuesday.
This trend set up unrealistic expactations for both men and women. I think it's dangerous becase men would like to see their wives beatiful. dressed up, happy and welcoming, and what they usualy get is maby happy, but tired and dressed comfortably woman.

Personally, as a father to a beautiful little girl, I want her to be strong enough to deal with life without a man as it may take her some time to find a decent one and I may not be around to help her out if she ever needs it. But, I also want her to be willing to take on the role of mother and wife in a way that complements the man she marries if she goes that route.

Teaching girls that it's okay to one day get married and depend on their husbands isn't wrong. Now, some women, for one reason or another do have to go through adulthood without getting married, but if they do get married, there should be no shame in being a stay at home wife/mother

Here’s the thing - most “boss” women I know (I’d like to think I’m included in this.), do both and are living very fulfilled lives. Got the career, the husband, kids, fur babies, etc. I don’t understand this mentality of having to pick one over the other when both are possible if you’ve planned right.

Imagine having a mom who was both. My mom has 3 degrees and still served her husband! (My dad) You know you can do both?!! We have made society so black or white…they had both successful careers and a long healthy marriage until my dad passed at 82

Honestly this is super satanic on both extremes if you really truly deeply dive into both extremes the very first thing the enemy attacks is a female and then children. Even the proverbs woman worked! While maintaining her home!! She was an entrepreneur and a wife and a mom!!

I truly believed I wanted a career, and I went to college for it but… then I became pregnant. I was so I love with our firstborn that I wanted nothing more in life than to spend every living moment with her. So I stayed home, homeschooled her and her siblings, led the Girl Scout Troop, taught the Sunday school classes, showed up for all the lessons and events, baked all the cookies, and loved every single minute of it! They are grown now, and I am free to do as I wish with my life, but I have zero regrets for the “career” choices I made. And it’s awesome to be “retired” by 50! 😊

There is nothing wrong with being a traditional wife. However I believe that even tough a woman wants to be traditional needs a bare minimum of education (not talking about a PhD) but a little bit to get by in the meanwhile she doesent find a husband or something happens in the relationship. Besides, I truly think traditional women dont deserve any shame (their choices are respectable), its about the way they do it, I think they should only develope those responsabilities under the marriage just for legal protecction. And if this is the case, that's good for them and they are not "opressed"

My fiance wants to be a mom. She also wants to work in health care. She's spent years in training and volunteering to get to where she is. She's not a girl boss or trad wife. Can we get away from having to label everything and sort ourselves into ever smaller little boxes and just be normal again?

You say it's risky to depend on your job because the company may view you as replaceable. But your experience and skills stay with you and you can use that to get a new job. The same can't be said for a husband/partner, especially if you have kids. Women sacrifice so much to have children. She takes a huge pay cut and she's the one who gets pregnant. Isn't it fair for her to expect more from the man? 50/50 can't truly exist when men can't get pregnant.

I think that modern-day feminists are actually defeminizing women. Because they want us to be just like men when we clearly are not. We are women we have strengths but they are completely different from a man's. I don't think there is anything wrong with a woman who doesn't want a career.

Don't criticize young men and women today for not being the traditional men and women they want, and want to be. The deck was stacked against them from birth.

Traditionalism makes way more sense. People can whine and complain all they want about it, but men and women are different and it isn't "sexist" to let that fact inform us on gender roles and norms. BTW, the propaganda goes in both directions. I see the manosphere echoing the same types of arguments as the feminists: "I don't like being expected to do x, and therefore I'm oppressed." Kinda sad on both ends, IMO.

I'm not choosing a side in this culture war, ultimately each woman (and each man!) will choose their life for themselves.
But in my own case, I'm glad that my wife works. Eating ready-made food (frozen, order-in, eating out, etc) and the cleaning lady that comes in twice a month creates additional expenses, but she makes way more money than these additional expenses.

Misha, you have completely misunderstood the first clip and I can only hope it wasn't intentional, but anyways, here's my 2 cents on it:
1. The trad wife in the original tiktok said explicitly that she is going to teach her daughter to depend on a man and become a trad wife herself. And to that, the concerns of the responder are very valid.
2. Just because someone is taught to be able to stand on her own two in case she doesn't find a man to marry doesn't mean that she would go on to the other extreme, prioritizing only her career her whole life. These things should be balanced, AND, it is a very real possibility for both genders that they simply don't find a suitable partner, so they have no choice but to concentrate on their careers and find another way to spend a meaningful life.
3. A marriage DOES NOT guarantee that you aren't going to find yourself alone in your fifties. Just in the pool of people I know, in my parents generation, almost EVERYONE divorced immediately after the kids grew up and moved out. Getting married is almost obligatory in my society (eastern Europe), therefore most women choose to get married, spend their life unhappy and by their old age they end up lonely and full of regrets.
