Can a 2GR-FE engine be used to replace a 3MZ in a 2006 Sienna given the entire wire harness and ECU are intact on the 2GR-FE?
Ответитьbeautiful to watch
Ответитьi have an 06 avalon so probably revision 1, and i imagine it has the updated vvti gears, but that motor has given me 0 issues since ive owned it.
ОтветитьWe have a 2009 Sport with 278K miles on it. 5K oil changes, regular maint. Replaced alternator last year and plastic heater tees for rear heater core this year after they began leaking. So sad to the engine go away after the 22 Highlander. Like an old refrigerator , they don’t make them like this anymore.
ОтветитьIs the 2grfse better? Or suffer the same fate as the 2grfe?
Ответитьnice engine. my 5.3 LS has a little piston slap when cold and so does my 4.3 vortec. both 12 and 26 years old, respectively, and have over 400k miles combined.
ОтветитьI have an 06 Rav4 that I picked up with 160k on the clock and the cold start up rattle. It now has almost 260k and rattles on almost every start. I guess I'm about defcon2 with this thing.😢
ОтветитьHmm, now how do I pull this off under my shade tree on my 2009 RAV4 🤔
ОтветитьFine rubber oil line on 2011 Highlander gave up in traffic, a few yards from shop that replaced it. The engine was bone dry. They do so many they keep them in stock. It was aftermarket aluminum part. Fit perfectly. Still runs two years later, although a bit more noisy. Also learned later the part was under recall if you have a Lexus. Toyoda said kick rocks. The thing is the worst driving, worst riding, most uncomfortable car I have ever been in, while the Warden thinks it's fabulous.
ОтветитьI have this engine in a 2012 Lexus rx350. It’s been cranking longer than normal to start. It’s got roughly 160,000 miles on it and I did replace the spark plugs at about 130,000. Any suggestions on what could be causing that
ОтветитьIt was a great decision on the part of the owner. No way he could trade up for $7K. Car looks well cared for, so why not? Would more regular car washes help with the rust underneath?
ОтветитьThat was quite a job. I hear you about prep for that sealer to work... I just can't imagine how awful it would feel to start up that fresh engine and see oil weeping out of the front cover. Was wondering about the timing chain replacement, but you explained that it was the owner that wanted them replaced. 22hrs labor for that job is a bargain for sure. I know you have done a video on bleeding the V6 cooling system, but am wondering about bleeding the cooling system on my lovely 2.4L 09 Camry that is ready for a new radiator. What is that procedure, have you done a video for the 2.4L? I was finally able to borrow my buddy's garage and ramps and tackled all the rusted out oil pan bolts. Amazingly enough, I was able to get them all out and replace them, so the future oil pan replacement won't be a big deal. The poor 2.4L still gets about 2500-3000 miles before being down a quart, no engine/warranty piston/ring job was ever done. I will save money this winter for a newer used Camry next summer I guess. Glad this job went well, I understand being apprehensive before that start up for sure!
ОтветитьMy 09 HL Base Model does not have the oil cooler. Currently running at 180k. I owned it since day 1 and I do not have the rattle. Looks like I am the few lucky ones. Only premature failure I had was the water pump at 60k and idle/tensioner/alternator bearings all went bad (started to chirp/squeak) at 175k. At this rate, the HL is built to last.
ОтветитьHello where did you buy the blue engine cradled jack/ support bench lol
Ответитьwhen is the next part of the ls430 detailing video coming out?? I have been waiting for so long!
ОтветитьI find this channel and its delivery therapeutic. It's hard to not get sucked into watching the whole thing. Hugely educational, masterfully documented, and just a joy to watch. We all dream of finding a mechanic like him.
ОтветитьI appreciate the long shows! Smiles
ОтветитьIs this based on P0300, a common DTC for misfires on this engine? The VTTi gear/sprocket?
ОтветитьHello CCN. I very much enjoy your channel. Though I'm far from even a DIY mechanic, I enjoy watching someone who is a pro. Have you ever done a video on how to clean and detail a Toyota engine? I have a 2011 Toyota Venza with a 2GR-FE engine like in this vehicle. It's got 102K and needs a good engine clean. But how and what products??? Thank you again.
ОтветитьAMD another master class, you are definitely a true blessing.
ОтветитьThank you so much for sharing your professionalism.
Please make a Video for fixing lifters (lifter noise)
Please and thank you
How to fix a toyota. Step: Sell it Step 2: Buy a real car. There ya go. No charge.
ОтветитьThis car is really not worth all this work, it is better to sell the car with the problem and add the repair money and a little more and buy a new car or a car that is one or two years old
ОтветитьI’m sure this guy is booked for years but it would be cool to bring in my sequoia
ОтветитьWish I can find someone like you in NYC to do all that to my 08 sienna.
Ответитьi bet the repair job costs more than the car is worth. To much rust overall, imo.
ОтветитьI won’t buy a vehicle with VVTI engine. It’s just not necessary to propel a vehicle. Any fuel savings is quickly taken back with repair costs 😮
ОтветитьAll manufacturers built vehicles with faults so dealerships can make $$. We’ve been building vehicles for over 100 years, we should have been able to make fault free vehicles??
ОтветитьMy V6 Rav has the electric steer system, 06-12. When you recharge the AC, people talk about contaminating their machine like when people use the charge in a can products. If the system was purged into a separate system outside of your AC charge equipment, does that make your AC charging system not be contaminated? Because I had service and they had to vent my system and them recharge it. It appeared to be done correctly, vacuum for 30 minutes and then charged like 14 oz but it's not as cool now and I wonder if they damaged it with a contaminated system? Assuming they didn't create leaks in their service.
ОтветитьThe Rav4s with 3500lb towing capacity, I would like to see a video on that and how it is done / " a few common problems" !
ОтветитьThat’s a big job and doesn’t look very DIY at all. Curious on what that all charges out at.
ОтветитьIf I had been the customer spending that amount of money on the car, I would have done something (even only just for the aesthetics and ease of mind) about the rusting sub frame.
ОтветитьCan you do one for us old 2uz fe in the future? Love this sort of content
ОтветитьI've owned a few Toyota cars. Two of them are Camry. One of them is the first from Japan small long bed Toyota pickup. All of them went well above 200,000 miles. None of them had any problem with the engines except small stuffs like cover leaks with simple fix. My last Camry is 2011 which I still own. My 2001 Camry went above 330.000 miles before I sold it. There was no leaks or any major repair on the engine at all. It was still running quietly. Yes, there were problems with emission components. That was not a major repair. My question is this. Why is this new Highlander have this problem already after 12 years.
This tends to worry me a little. I thought about this for a long time about this before I bought a 2023 Toyota RAV 4 hybrid. I love to keep my car for a long time. Will my new RAV 4 last a long time?
Do you recommend running 5w20 in this engine if not towing? Only in the winter? Or always 5w30? Thnx
ОтветитьDo you have any video on 1NZ-FE?
ОтветитьGreat Video as usual! I have a 16 ES350 with 97k. It has been perfect except it has developed the coolant leak here in NY. Estimates are around 5k dollars but in 10k miles I have lost less than a cup!
ОтветитьYou are a genius! I have a 2007 Sienna with the rattle and should let you repair it. It has no rust and is a great van.
ОтветитьSeven grand is cheap compared to buying a new vehicle which can top the 50,000 dollar level.
ОтветитьI now will drive with my windows open so that I can listen to the engine noise from the older model Toyota passing me and identify what is wrong with the engine.
ОтветитьThis guys is the epitome of a Toyota master mechanic. I wish I could have someone like this work on my car whenever needed… that way, I KNOW the job will be done right and I’m not getting scammed on a repair.
ОтветитьEven if you are not a mechanic you should understand the basics so you can communicate with your mechanic.
ОтветитьThe oil line got me on my 2011 Highlander Hybrid. I had no idea since I wasn’t following this channel back then. Fortunately the wife pulled over and no engine damage.
ОтветитьHow do the Lexus versions differ or are they the exact engine irregardless if its in in a Toyota or Lexus?
ОтветитьGlad to know I have the third revision of this engine in the RX350.
Ответить
