Second Hand Shopping

What a fantabulous second hand shop you have in your area.
I buy 99% of everything, be it clothes, furniture, crockery etc from charity shops. Refuse Reuse Recycle Rot 🙏🏻

I thrift 90% of my clothing. I like to buy classic pieces for slacks & blazers and then look for bolder blouses that show my personality. I keep a very minimalist wardrobe so I only buy when I need something and tend to wear my clothing until the pieces are worn out.

I LOVE thrifting, but literally everything I find seems to have some sort of bodily fluid stain on it. Kind of ruins the experience.

I only ever buy second hand clothing; buying new makes no sense anymore.

That looked like a very nice shop. Where I live, most of the 2nd hand thrift stores are huge and chaotic and you really have to pick through the junk and stand in long lines of it's a sale day.

Would love to see more about second hand shopping both the donating and the purchasing and a guide of things to do and not do .

I was recently looking to purchase a jacket (as I don't have thinnish coat) and I found a perfect jacket in a second-hand store! It looked brand new, not even worn! I will continue to look for clothing in charity shops!

I love 2nd hand stores. I would have liked to see what you bought, as I think that can dispel what a lot of people think about 2nd hand clothing being not as nice as new.

I actually do most of my shopping at the Goodwill ^_^ it's mostly because I generally have less money (jobless teenager lol) but I almost always find the cutest dresses!

We are very fortunate in my part of Montana to have a variety of “thrift” stores. Even an organization called Habitat for Humanity which builds housing for people less fortunate and just as deserving. They have a store with tools, windows, tile, electrical, plumbing, lamps, cabinets, you name it. I got a great big one “bowl” stainless sink and gave them the old one which was still in good shape. My best buddy Sue and I love to have lunch and go thrift shop looking; not necessarily to buy but also just for the entertainment. I love to hang out in big men’ s shirts and she loves jigsaw puzzles, so we each go check our sections first. I used to wear my husbands’ shirts and then my Dad’s but they are now cleaning rags. The memories still linger while I clean.....

Love thrift stores. I don’t understand when people pay a huge amount on clothes. People don’t often buy high quality but I’ve found vintage clothes are often very well made (like antique furniture). I have this stunning Irish sweater I got at a garage sale that’s too big on me but incredibly comfortable & the woman said she accidentally shrunk it but got it in Ireland. 😊

My Aunt had a beautiful wardrobe. I found out later that the majority of the clothes were from thrift stores.

It seems jeans these days all have a bit of spandex in them with the cotton. But I don't know the last time I purchased a pair brand new. I do love thrifting and hunting down a good bargain.
