As an XS max user for since its release it’s really amazing and no need to upgrade from this phone to an 11 pro max or even a 12 pro max, if you’re an XS,XR or an XS max user wait for the 15 or 16 because even upgrading to a 12 isn’t a big thing at all

The iPhone 11 Pro Max has a super oled XDR display too, and they’re not different at all from the 14 pro max except promotion display and brightness levels. I’m sorry people always do that to try and drag previous models when they’re the same..

Ive had my 11 pro max since it first came out, this week i finally upgraded and ordered a 14 pro max from apple. Thank you for the comparison!!

most of the phones look the same , notch and all. I never liked the notch it looks large and in the way. this is the first time in 7 years i purchased an iphone (14 pro max) because it didn't have the notch and my samsung phone of almost 6 years had shutdown recentley

The battle of Max

The 13 pro max is the best looking phone. Biggest mistake apple made was changing the notch for the “dynamic island”. It’s so much more intrusive, and just catches your attention so much more than the notch. I almost can’t ignore it because the screen carries on above it. There was nothing wrong with the notch, and by the time of the 13 pro max the notch was small anyway. Really wasn’t as big of a deal as some people made it out to be.

It’s weird seeing it again, the triple camera setup - but curved edges? It looks weird considering we have had 3 years now with the flat edges and that camera setup…

I remember when it was announced. I was literally like, All I needed was 4K front facing camera* At 60fps. But due to being on a contract, I dare not go for it. It’s a nice to have, not a requirement* I had the X, then to the 12 pro max*

I’ve got almost zero complaints about the phone. Battery is amazing* I can get 2 days even now out of the phone. I had a shift the other week, where I started at 4pm. (Phone was off the charger around half 1pm) I was meant to finish at 11pm, Didn’t last train is something past midnight… So I didn’t leave work until 5:30am. This phone was NOT on the charger at all at work. When it finally went on the charger? 8am. When it got to 2% battery life. And at work, I needed to take photos for my job, I’m using it on my break / for music whilst working with Bluetooth earphones… I carry a battery pack only as a precaution* The phone carried itself to and from work just like I did.

My only complaints would be (But I blame the carrier, not the phone) poor connectivity over mobile data.

Overheating issues* Where the phone literally overheated within the first week of owning it. I literally had done nothing other than put it in a case. (Yay?) when I say nothing, the phone had been set up, so it couldn’t have been downloading data. It was kinda done with the processing of iCloud Photos / data… But decided to overheat, and I’ve found using the cameras for an extended period of time* It overheats the phone. (Extended being, say recording 4K 60fps for 1 1/2 - 2 hours. That’s not entirely something a casual user would do, but a professional* might need that.

The other thing I could complain about is the notch… However regardless of what anyone tries saying, The dynamic island is actually the notch in disguise. It’s not really smaller than the 13 lineup - it’s just a rebrand and separate from the edge of the display. I have seen a 14 pro in the flesh* I’m planning to upgrade to it soon, So I can get rid of this bad contract I’m on. (Which was done over the phone with zero context to anything other than ‘Black Friday deal’ )

I’m planning to get my order in on Thursday when I get paid. I’m literally upgrading to get rid of a bad phone contract* get a second great phone as a backup. And the cameras are great, the battery life should be even better than my experience with the 12 pro max* I’m excited for it.

I’m still on my iPhone X, but I really need to get a new one bc my battery life is really bad. I’m a student - so my budget is limited. Does anyone have any recommendations on which iPhone I should get? I don’t wanna get one that is “too old” bc I really want this new phone to last several years… (definitely going for the pro version, no matter which iPhone) Originally I would have gone for the iPhone 14 pro, but watching several videos & reading a lot, made me rethink my decision 😬😬

I have an XS Max 256GB for near 4 years. VERY happy with its great and big display, fast cpu, good cameras, etc. I like the new 14 Pro Max but prices in Europe are too high: 1600 euros / dollars (256GB). I see this comparison and I think I will wait till 15 or 16 Pro… Not many reasons to justify so much money in a phone and the differences are not so much. Smartphones life has been greatly improved. A high-end phone can last 4 or 5 years without any problem. Even 6 if you don’t mind having the best. Reminds me to computers: In my case I replace them every 6 years or more. This is a good thing for the environment and our wallet!
