I have used the Alberto knot for years and it has served me well but is it a little bulky. I playing with the FG knot and will try it next week on a 4 day charter.

For inshore spin fishing, I have never had a failure with a well cinched up 4 x through Surgeons loop. Never once.
It must be said in lines 30 pound flouro to 30 pound braid and lighter...

This line is very strong and stretches great when setting the hook or fighting and bringing in the big fish. For the value of the line which isn’t much this is the right line for you if you want to save money and catch fish.

I haven't seen the FG knot tied that way but I like it.

I do a six wrap surgeons knot where I pass the full leader through the loop six times, it's a super easy knot to tie and it's never let me down
