Great video Aaron! On the contact sensor, the way to get the button press in HA is to select in the Switchbot app under settings if Exit is detected based on motion or button press. The one you select is what will be reported through the motion sensor in HA.
ОтветитьThank you for this video,
I've just got a SwitchBot Bot, and it does not show up in Home Assistant.
Do you have any idea how to make it show?
Move your mic closer to your mouth dude.
ОтветитьSo......at which point of the video you mentioned how to integrate switchbot with homeassistant??
ОтветитьHey
Is it also possible to use the switchbot hub Mini in HA???
Greets
How many switchbot devices can be connected to Home Assistant via Bluetooth?
ОтветитьI have the switch button on my tea machine. It turns on in the morning automatic so I have ready my tea when I wake up. Little great button!.
Ответить"Wake On LAN" function of most ethernet NIC's will also wake your PC. You don't need a physical switch to wake the PC up.
ОтветитьWill be seen by home assistant... IF you have bluetooth setup in home assistant.
ОтветитьThanks for the video. I have a bunch of Switchbot devices myself. My biggest issue is the range of Bluetooth. Are there any devices that work as repeaters or extenders for Bluetooth signal?
ОтветитьAaron, does the smart plug work with either Bluetooth or Wi-Fi?
ОтветитьThe Switchbot motion sensor does a good job with motion, and mounts well as you noted. However, the "light sensing" capabilities are nothing short of laughable. It is binary in nature...light detected or not. There is no means (at least through HA) to determine or set the threshold between "detected" or not. So, if using this sensor to trigger automations based on available light is a desire, this is not an acceptable sensor. The video is good at showing capabilities of Switchbot on HA, but downsides would make it even more helpful.
Bluetooth on HA is indeed a forward step. But it is also important to note the limitations of Bluetooth in this environment...primarily range. Unlike Zigbee or Z-Wave, Bluetooth is not capable of forming a mesh. It can be overcome somewhat using a Bluetooth dongle with an antenna, but that is of marginal help in my tests. ESP32 is another way to help extend the range--but that is far from plug and play.
Honestly, with as much as you get with HA and SwitchBot combined together...I might have to start looking at implementing HA finally. Darn you Aaron.
ОтветитьAre there any good products for single pole light switches? The switchbot is just for rockers.
ОтветитьAs much as I love my SwitchBot devices (Curtain Bots rock!) the Contact Sensor and Motion Sensor suck when used inside Home Assistant. I'm getting reaction times of up to 30 seconds compared to 2-4 seconds on their Zigbee(Hue, Aqara) and Z-Wave(Aeotec, Fibaro) equivalents. Am I doing something wrong?
ОтветитьGreat video and now that home assistant has the Bluetooth proxy option i have a switchbot bot and a switchbot hydrometer set up that turn's my humidifier on and off when i'm sleeping based on the humidity in the room.
ОтветитьGreat video Aaron! Got a package from Switchbot too. Now I have to think about a different format. 😂😂😂
ОтветитьWow did not know they had all those additional products, thanks for the info! Great video
ОтветитьGreat video! Can you do a presence detection tutorial for home assistant? I'm struggling to make one that works!
ОтветитьAnother really informative video! ... I'll be giving Switchbot a try in my HA installation.
ОтветитьWelcome to the dark (blue) side Aaron! Great video!!!
