There are many little details that are not though well enough in Japanese cars, also the Japanese cars look a lot more ugly comparing their German competitors. Not sure if it all justifies the price difference.

I have a 2023 and I am getting 21-23MPG. So maybe he just has a lead foot! Ha!!!!

I had driven Acura MDX for 12 years. I had 2 Acura MDXs at that time. They kept having problems like German cars starting in the third year (even they ran faster than Lexus). I had all 4 doors' handles broken in 2 Acura MDXs. Two window doors dropped down, one on each car. Alternators were broken on two cars. Air conditioner was broken on one car. Compressor was broken on one car. Brake fluid hose was broken after 12 years. Brake pads need to be changed every 30,000 miles. Road noise was very bad.
I switched to 2 Lexus RX350 SUVs. They are now both 7 years old. Not a single problem, run smoothly, no road noise. I have changed only the engine oil and tires for both. No brake pads changed yet after 60,000 miles. I never go back to Acura MDX...

I don’t understand Acura or the people that buy them. I hate the old Japanese bubble/round design. I hate the cheap interior with buttons everywhere. They aren’t TRULY sporty, They aren’t LUXURY. They just are known to run forever. That’s really it. Give me a loaded CRV and a check for the difference any day of the week.

I bought a 2011 acura MDX and the sh-awd light popped up any recommendations how to fix this?

I have 2019 RDX advanced and I hate this car so much comparing to my previous 2012 Lexus RX. I won’t complain to many problems I have, but the infotainment system is damn terrible: 360 view completely useless because all objects barely could be seen. A back up view is terrible as well. I guess that resolution of cameras and the display is very poor. And finally, after 4 years of having this car, with only 28,000mi, the display is down and has to be replaced. So, this is why i hate this car even more.

Not to be compared to Mercedes though, they are not on the same level

In regards to the poor fuel mileage. I just recently took a family trip in a fully packed 2022 Acura MDX Advanced. My wife, our four kids and I had the car filled to the roof with luggage. We traveled from San Mateo to Glendale about 364 miles from house to hotel. I put it in ECO mode on Highway 5 and had plenty of range left to make it more than 50 miles past Glendale per the Acura range computer. That’s easily over 400 miles range freeway driving on a full tank running supreme fuel. I did the same trip in my 2016 Honda Pilot EX-L. Easily over 400 miles range too.

I have almost 50k miles on mine. Good car. I had the wireless charging pad replaced and it still sucks. I did have the fuel pump replaced under warranty. It was making a chirping sound but has ran fine. Handling is great and acceleration adequate. Way better then the Pilot I had for 5 years.

Can anyone confirm if the transmission issues are true with these? (The clunking and stalling at highway speeds)

I owned a 2012 MDX and started doing DIY maintenance in 2017 due to the high costs at the dealer. Since then, I've been handling all types of oil/fluid changes, brake system replacements, and more. The amazing thing is that I took it for alignment last year, and for a 10-year-old vehicle, the alignment reading was 0/0/0. It was my first time getting an alignment (shame on me), but I was pleasantly surprised by how well it performed. Overall, this car has never given me any major issues, and almost all bulbs are still original. Compared to other cars I've owned, this one is the best.

Hi Scotty, my 2023 MDX makes a low pitch whistling sound when accelerating between 50-55. It seems one whistle sound sound all the sounds on road. Dealer mechanic says they hear nothing but me and my wife drive it daily and familiar with this sound. Is it a common Honda/ Acura whistle sound?
It is when you have foot on gas pedal and it’s a constant acceleration 48/50 above 55/58 speed.

2020 acura certified preowned, open road honda, east brunswick, nj quoted on acura rdx, 2020, 26km miles, $41,286 out the door, includes 2500$ sales tax, $375 registration, doc fees 799. refused to go lower. is this a deal to persue. they dropped some dealer created fees but increased the base price for the same amount to get the same out the door $41,286.. opinions please

I live in Europe and there is no Acura here. I am interested in whether the hybrid's 7-speed gearbox is strong and reliable. I don't know what SUV to buy Lexus RX 450h or Acura MDX hybrid version. Lexus is known to be strong and reliable. I personally like Acura, but as I wrote in Europe, we don't have any observations about the quality and reliability of this SUV.

Does it ride as cloud-like (quiet and soft) as a Lexus Rx or GS? I own an old Acura TL. I’ve enjoyed it but my two gripes aside from poor gas mileage are 1) stiff ride 2) poor cabin sound insulation. Great channel Scotty. Thanks for all the knowledge and advice.

2002 mdx touring edition, is actually older than any car i've owned as a millenial but it gives me less problems. Had a volvo s60 2.4t and a bmw 3 series before this. At 275k miles on the mdx and it's amazing. The screen still works! Heated seats. It's pretty luxurious for when it was made.

Cvt transmission

I had an Acura RL and it was my favorite car of all time. Traded it in for a GMC Terrain (no real complaints; boring but I like the touchscreen). Thinking about RDX but wish it had touchscreen.

The video says it is a review of the RDX but you are showing an MDX with a third-row seating. What gives?
