Companies will always blame consumers, but in reality their very loose return policies have caused the issues. In other words, don't make it so easy to return things and charge a restock fee UNLESS the consumer can prove it was damaged or defective. However, then people will simply break things on purpose so there's really no easy way to do it. It's a huge problem that will need a solution or it will continue to get worse.

I work at Amazon I work the damage land, and that's where of course the damaged goods go. That's also where the items go that are unscannable, don't have a barcode. I had at least twelve totes of items, clothing rollerblades a bunch of stuff that could be useful and I found out after, that if it doesn't have a barcode it goes in the trash no matter its condition. 🤬 way way way too much stuff goes into the trash from that place, and I assume it's from every other building too🤬

Before we report on Amazon wrongly we have to know some facts. Products soles by Amazon are NOT Tossed out. They are donated to charities and or redistributed to other stores. As for third party items, we’ll, they’re just that, they’re left up to the vendors what to do with them. And of course Amazon has mechanisms in place to advise and help where possible.

I bought something on Amazon warehouse and they sent me an empty tube. Lost $15 bc I didn’t use it right away to notice.
I guess someone bought it, used it, returned it, and the worker that processed the return didn’t notice it was used.

Amazon is also stupid for one thing, they don't price match with their OWN pricing after a price is dropped and forces customers to return items and reorder. That's stupid on their end.

Go to any UPS store after 4pm everyday, there is usually a long line of people holding amazon bags trying to return it.

Back in the day you made do with what you have. Heavin forbid you can't get your special chineese branded hair shampoo your attached to and have to walk into a local cvs and only have a choice of 20 different brands of shampoo on their shelves.

People pay to have their yards mowed. People pay to have someone else get their shi...stuff and drop it at their feet. At some point this country is going to get a much needed kick in the ass from thinking that they all can act like they're the King of the castle. "Anything else we can do for you your highness?"

Question for the ladies....How do you return personal items like...ahem...toys...and lingerie when the process is to walk into a UPS store with your stuff but without any return boxes or bags to place them in? That's like the walk of shame right? Or if you're a frequent cloth shopper and are seen weekly returning stuff because the quality sucks or something like that? It can't be a great feeling and I'm willing to bet many will sooner opt to throw it out vs returning it. Especially when Amazon has a secret file on you that is counting your return status and judging if they're going to surprisingly cut you off with a life ban from their site.

Personally I only like to buy cloths at actual stores where I can try them on first. Sadly, there's not many options to choose from on the shelves especially for guys. I distrust many sites to buy from other than the really big name ones seeing as how any Joe Schmo can have their own clothing website and can take your credit card info and run. Or more likely they'll middle man your purchase from some knock off item in a Chineese gutter house.

The world seems to always be changing with trends and the way people do things. But I feel like there's no alternative that will ever replace the at home delivery industry. Not in the next 10 years...or 20...or even 300. The only change that could possibly happen is a revert back to physical stores. The only way that would be a possibility that I can think of is if 1st world countries go into economic collapse.

This video didn't even mention the fact that there's likely tons of online purchases people will simply throw away themselves rather than to make a trip to a store to drop off for a return. In particular articles of clothing worth 30 dollars or less.

I bought many things from amazon that, when they came in were returns. Damaged boxes, Broken plastic/glass, ripped pages on books. I even checked the manufacture codes and found i got a item from 2015 a few months ago, my guess is it broke they took the new one, put the old one in returned and then they just re shipped it out.

What they are afraid to do in this country is create a no return policy. People will only buy what they truly want and need. No issues with excessive returns or overfilled landfills. Until they do this, they can't blame customers for returning. They enable that behavior.

The problem I just started to have with Amazon is not receiving my packages on time especially when they say it will be 2 days and do not get it until 4 days later, after watching how the employees are treated to get the deliveries to us on time all I can say is WOW! Now another problem Amazon is having is giving people their money back after getting products back in the warehouse it's been more than 2 weeks and I still do not have my money back. I just looked up Amazon's Corporate office in the State of WA, and it is considered a Foreign LLC, Corporate office Settle in Washington, Jurisdiction Delaware. 🤨well, they are protecting themselves for sure someone in the U.S. just needs to start another business like this one and do it better wish I had the money.

Everyone is looking out for their own profit. No one is looking out for the cost to environment. Businesses do anything to sell their product. If, instead of a combined product price with free delivery, evey product had its product price and delivery cost separate, then buyers will also think before returning something as they might not get the refund for the delivery charges if they are returning a good product. Such business practices of providing free delivery when it is not actually free, lead to such problems.

How about the MOST OBVIOUS action! tightening return policy, charge return shipping, give shorter return windows, have a stricter return limit, charge more re-stocking fees. Stop making everyone feel they just return, any and everything free and clear and they will be more judicious in their choices.

Bought an item on amazon only for it to go on sale and be 50% less the next day. Chatted with support and they wouldn't credit the price drop. So I was forced to return the item got a full refund and buy it again to get the cheaper price.
