How do we pass selected dropdown value to dynamic bigquery as parameter?
ОтветитьThe fact it's limited to very few data sources is a pain. I was hoping I could use that to let users select several $ thresholds and return dynamic customer segmentation. Hopefully they'll extend to SQL or web soon...
ОтветитьThanks. I have an Oracle database that is on DirectQuery mode and I want to restrict the data using Start Date and End Date filters that the user has to give while running. Do you know how can I achieve it please?
ОтветитьIf I have only single parameter in sql then its work for me?

Can this be used with an API? I want to call the API based on a list of parameters in a filter that the user can choose. Seems that the Direct Query limitation stops me from binding?
ОтветитьI'm trying to create something similar: I want to create a revenue forecast with dynamic USD exchange rates. I created a table with series from 0 to 10 named exchange and multiple parameters. However the "bind to parameter" option is not showing up in Power BI. Do I need to set any configuration prior to this?
Ответитьhello are you using direct query here?
many thanks
I am watching this today ! Oh No ! How i have missed this amazing video :)
Ответитьthis feature is still working?
ОтветитьNice video Ruth. Now let's just hope that many people will use the preview feature so Microsoft gets tons of feedback so this will work with more data sources and can go to GA soon.
ОтветитьHi Ruth,
Is this possible to create dynamic headers for a table visual using these m query parameters.
For ex: in one table having a column as tableheader and values as sales, revenue, amount.
Now I have another table as mastertable and having country, values are USA, Canada, India..another column Sales and values are 100,200,300.
Now when I select the country USA..IN table visual the header of Sales should change to revenue, WHEN I SELECT CANADA, IT SHOULD BE SALES..
I KNOW IT IS POSSIBLE WITH MATRIX BY WRITING A MEASURE..
I didn’t see you today and hope you are ok. Have a nice weekend! 🍀🥂”Let’s get started” 😘
ОтветитьHow would you set this up in the Service?
ОтветитьRuth, does it also works with Values or Legend? For example, I have USD in one column and # of Units in other, can I select which column I wanna show using this method? And maybe also for the Legend? Like breakdown the data by country or by product category?
Tks, I love your videos, learned a lot.
Neat way to control visuals and it seems query is loaded quickly with new selection
ОтветитьIt looks easier than the method creating a dynamix axis table!
Does it work with any source?
Thanks Ruth..that was great and awesome solution..can you please create video on how to switch measures
