Malkovich came onto my radar way back when he did that movie with Clint Eastwood, In the Line of Fire. He was creepy terrifying in that movie! His voice is everything too. Loved the movie Rounders too, both Damon and Norton were amazing.

It's so interesting because back then Malkovich had all kinds of art-house cred, but these days he is highly likely to show up in comedies and action films so I'm assuming it would be no big deal.

This interviewer must be sensational. Matt is clearly very comfortable and open. You can learn a lot about an interviewer by the guest's body language. Matt is having a good time here and that says loads about the way the interview is being conducted.

OMG I DIDN'T KNOW HE DID THAT! :) Hahaha... that is bloody hilarious. I really loved just how well the "Teddy KGB" part rounded out (heh) the entire scope and shape of the entire film's plot, situation, danger, etc. It's like... YES... this card-playing jerk was pretty dangerous, but maybe it was just a NAME... maybe even just an ACT. I mean for the character, not merely the actor John Malkovitch. Like... maybe Teddy KGB was putting on a persona in order to truly intimidate his opponents. Maybe he was from some other country (not Russia), etc.

Either way, the entire cast was brilliant, and Malkovitch STOLE THE ENTIRE SHOW! :)

I acted in REDS and also worked on the crew, in the Locations Dept. ... I'm out front of the house, in downtown Toronto where they're shooting the "We're getting the band back together" scene at. ... I'm there at 6 am meeting and greeting neighbours, in this very expensive neighbourhood, about 9 am Bruce #1 arrives, then Morgan #2 arrives, then Helen #3 arrive then Malkovich arrives and everything changes, from my angle. ... John smokes so they all stand out front for a good hour or so laughing none shop as the crew prepares for the shot inside and John holds court outside. ... John Malkovich is John Malkovich.

I wonder who was the screenwriter. And where Malkovich got his impression of an immigrant Russian.

I was in college when this movie came out in there was probably a two month stretch where we watched it at least once that day. 1998/1999 and then we started playing poker. This fucking movie probably cost me thousands lol
