Bloodborne DLC ► Wrath of Mother Kos [#3]

I cannot believe I’m the only person who sees how dumb it is to have every critical hit in the game make your weapon disappear and you just reach in for a little squeezy. So stupid

One thing I would like to note is your timeline is a bit off with the creation of the hunters. You said Bergenwerth scholars attacked the fishing hamlet and their successors (the hunters) were cursed as well. The problem with this is that the hunters already existed at this point. Maria, one of Gehrman's hunter disciples was part of the attack. She actually retires as a result of her guilt in the attack and throws her weapon in the village well (where we find it in the nightmare). Bergenwerth scholars may very well have ordered the attack, but the hunters were the tools that carried it out. There's a reason why it's specifically called "The Hunter's Nightmare". It's a hell for them based on their sins.

My favourite weapon in Bloodborne is probably either the saw cleaver or Ludwigs holy blade

I've always been oddly fond of the Bloodletter. The transformed version is a force to be reckoned with in a bloodtinge build. Huge reach, quick attacks and despite the frenzy buildup to the user on the L2 it does incredible damage to enemies near you

Been a decade still none dlc could beat this one.

After all these years I still yearn after an experience as good as Bloodborne. I love Sekiro to shreds, don't get me wrong but this game's themes, artstyle, music and gameplay is just built so astronomically different

Ok, so I know this is old and maybe it was stated before, but I never understood the connection between Gehrman and the orphan of Kos. However, I now have a theory. What if, Gehrman’s body in the waking world is the Orphan, or at least some part of him. I was inspired by the fact that when you slay Flora you take on a form that look like a childlike version of the Moon Presence. So perhaps if you slay a true great one you then become a replacement of that great one, or perhaps a fused version of the great one and yourself. After all, Gehrman and the orphan both use cyclical style weapons, and the orphan is a great deal more human looking than Kos. Now where does the wet nurse fit in? Perhaps she was too weak, or at least a non-ascended great one, a mere servant of formless Urdon(idk how you spell his name). Same with Ebrietas, she never ascended therefore you didn’t assume her form upon slaying her. However, Gehrman was at the village, and if he killed Kos, who had to descend to answer the pleas of the fisherman, then bam he became the orphan,once again? Like you with Flora, she descends and you kill her, bam you become like Flora, a similar creature, an expression of the two consciousness merged and given form. This would also explain why great ones lose their children, because only one great one of a specific type or expression can exist at any one time, so their children die to maintain the uniqueness of their cosmic expression, but when they die, there is a vacancy that is filled by their slayer should the slayer have the insight to resist them. Sorry i know this is a long comment but it just all kind of clicked/ came to me and I wanted to share in case anybody else was lost on that after all these years.

Nobody is saying what really happened. Kos came to the edge of the village and got trapped by the hunters and impregnated by these pieces of crap, Byrgenwerth to try to make a hybrid great one / human using a different method than blood tampering.

Kos was not a fan of it as this causes a piece of her to be tied to this realm since the orphan can not be controlled through the 'old blood'. That is why she dispels the Hunter's Nightmare when you disperse the shadow tying the orphan to our realm.

Is there a Prepare to Cry: Orphan of Kos?

Moonlight blade I know it's overated, but I use it in everygame as soon as possible. Beat kos with that & ludwigs blade at 70.

Simon's Bowblade is my favorite weapon in any Fromsoft game, it makes me wish there was a parallel to it in Elden Ring. Bloodtinge is so fun and the trick of the bowblade is so unique.

Looking through the lore, it feels as if the Hunter and Church group’s success didn’t even last long. Like, they did well with the first Blood Ministration and the first Hunt, but then everything fell apart immediately, starting with the Fishing Hamlet. Their rise was short lived.

I have just finished Bloodborne and its DLC and I am quite sad that there aren't that many lore videos here on the channel about the game. I am very sad that characters like Lady Maria and Ludwig never got prepare to cry episodes and probally never will.

Edit: I even remember him making a joke about viewers asking for a Lady Maria prepare to cry episode in a video about DS3s Ringed City DLC so...

Well in celebration to Bloodborne likely being on PC (emulator) soon and Nightreign incoming network test.
I personally think it’s great time to revisit that prepare to cry maria edition!
