I've been reading a lot of comments lately across social media regarding the Old testament. I'm always surprised, at the rudeness people have when communicating. I shouldn't be shocked at this point. We need unity in the Body not bickering.
The Bible is called the living word of God for a reason. It's supernatural and even if we do not know how to explain something, it will validate itself and God will always protect his word.
The old Testament is important for additional reasons aside from historical references. The word is also Covenant. If you are a born again believer, then you are grafted in. You have access as the sons and daughters of the most high God to every promise in that word.
It took me a while to learn this. The Holy Spirit is driving. Sometimes I am running to keep up after I've managed to trip myself lol.
The key to effective prayer is the word. The Covenant. It's extremely beneficial to find the corresponding scripture, to whatever your praying on.
And the Psalms are helpful in that respect. Like Psalm 91. We speak it forth declaring protection over ourselves and our loved ones.
We are NOT supposed to be living by the old laws but we get understanding of what is promised. And with assistance of the Holy Spirit, it helps give direction in prayer.
The whole Bible is important. I'm not sure why there's this trend in Pastors teaching that only certain parts matter.
I think there's a refusal to accept that it's not about works maybe 🤷 idk. But in my opinion, being caught up in the legalism or works mindset, which takes away from something way more important and that's the personal relationship you have with the Father. Which only gets stronger when you see the Father's heart.
And that can only come from taking that journey with him, from the beginning.
Lastly, if a denomination is caught up in a system of rituals that are really man made doctrines, there are many places in the OT, that shows correction and consequences. And they don't want to recognize it and change it. Just some thoughts.

Dr. Heiser was an amazing teacher. Well, he still is lol. He's still teaching us with all the great videos. We miss him in this realm.

Theunseen realm is a nightmare a horrible place where if by chance you experience things in life that you can only attribute to being from or involved in this horrible place good luck. I can tell you from experience it’s horrible and a a curse upon your existence in every way. I don’t believe in god anymore due to it. Only dark greedy insidious humans who are involved in dictating where this energy can manifest. If god were real he’d kill them all. All involved in this but god isn’t real. The mental horror show I’ve experienced that altered my life for the worst is something I will never heal from and now live life with a constant and utterly dark and depressing sense of dread and time wasting ineffective mental energy suck. I’ve considered trying the most evil of black magic for it has revealed to me that the good lord, whatever that means, isn’t there to help nor explain this petrifying crap that makes lifenot worth livingallows this to cause destruction and psychosis for no other reason but loss and despair. It’s over for me for reasons I don’t know other than god isn’t real nor cares. That’s what I’ve learned from this. I’m an addict and depressed and will most likely commitsuicide due to this

I respectfully proclaim, there is no such thing as a "minor prophet" of YAHWEH.
But, how can he say that babies in the womb don't have thoughts, that's not true. What is the reason that the unborn child, which would become John the Baptist, "leapt in the womb" of Elizabeth when she saw Mary, the mother of Jesus who was at the time pregnant with Him, approaching from afar off?

I watched it all and will order “The Unseen Realm” by Dr. Heiser.
I am the typical western Christian he mentions in the beginning and made the mistake of which he so impressively well explains and despite being a PhD, he feels so “normal” and that’ is meant as compliment.

Anytime a man uses the Epic of Gilgamesh and/or the books of Enoch as his supporting evidence for the truth of a biblical text that man needs to be listened to with extreme caution. One of the very reasons God preserved His word was to eliminate the conflictions and confusion that all these myriads of pseudo biblical writings bring to the minds of the readers of His Word, even in the first century. The Bible says plainly that SCRIPTURE and ONLY SCRIPTURE is Holy Spirit inspired. If we have to rely on secular writings to hold up a text of scripture, then how can we trust that the Bible is authoritative on any matter it addresses? The Bible authors may have "read" secular works but they certainly were not "informed" by these works. The authors of the Bible were informed by the Holy Spirit ensuring that what they wrote was entirely without error. We do a terrible injustice to God's Word by placing so much reliance upon materials that are of a secular origin. The authors of the Bible most certainly did not do this. "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual" (I Corinthians 2:12 -13).

I’m sorry for his passing. I don’t believe he was that old.
I just started listening to him and find him interesting. But I do have a disagreement. My understanding is that he does not think that newborn babies cannot have a connection to God and yet God’s kingdom is a kingdom without bodies and it is made up of primarily souls and spirits. Early early in my life, I had a vague, memory of floating in the air, looking for a family that I was going to be matched up with. For me that signifies a soul and a spirit therefore, I do not believe in abortion unless it’s medically necessary. Peace 🙏🙏🙏

What a revelation! No pun intended. I believe that using current translations is like playing the game telephone. We need to go to the source. I will scan your videos and publications, but my biggest question is that of the Sabbath. Man, namely Constantine I think, changed it from Saturday to Sunday, but Jesus rested on the Sabbath in his tomb to rise on the third day. Although I'm not a Seventh Day Adventist, it's a big question for me. I don't wait until I'm in heaven and I've been doing it wrong... 😂❤

Jesus is not Jehovah (Yahweh). Jesus is Jehovah's "unique" son; God's only begotten son because Jesus was created directly by Jehovah as God's first creation... everything else was created through Jesus acting as God's "master worker". Read Proverbs Chapter 8 verses 22 to verse 31. Everyone's confusion about God and the Bible can be easily set straight when you come to understand that Jesus is not Jehovah and Jesus is not God. Jehovah is God and God is not a trinity. Jesus was commissioned by God to come to earth as the Messiah to accomplish God's will of redeeming mankind through the ransom sacrifice of our Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ. Jesus is the way to salvation. The means that Jehovah God provided for our salvation. Read John chapter 3 and also John chapter 17. The bible does not contradict itself. The contradictions are when you try to force Jesus as being the same person as Jehovah God. When you separate Jesus from Jehovah as separate beings (not a trinity) then everything comes together in perfect harmony. This simple truth will upset a lot of trinitarians and so be it, but a humble person will allow the truth to enter his or her heart without any false doctrines and the truth will set you free. This does not take away the importance of Jesus. Jesus is our only means of salvation. Jesus is the King of God's Kingdom. And when Jesus, the prince of peace, has restored all things back to God's original purpose, when he has reduced God's enemies to nothing, he will then hand the kingdom over to his father after everything has been perfectly restored back to perfection. Jesus is important, but he is not God.

all this deep thinking... digging deep into bible gems.... but Heiser is still stuck on a trinity? Jesus and God are not the same person. The trinity is not a biblical teaching. Jesus said "the father is greater than I am" Jesus prayed to God, he wasn't praying to himself.... but yet Heiser is still stuck on a trinity? really? Jehovah God is one God. Period. Set aside your tradition and "go with the text" Why would the devil try to tempt God into performing an act of worship to him? Why would Jesus respond "Go away Satan! For it is written; 'It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him ALONE you must render sacred service' ? Jesus is the son of God, he is our savior, but he is not God. like every "elohim", Jesus is indeed "a god" but he is not GOD.
