Just watched this and was surprised that “manananggal” was discussed 🤗 my mum used to scare me with this so I won’t go out at night 😆 a lot of people (especially in the countryside) hang garlic by the window and put salt as well to prevent manananggals from preying whoever is in the house… also, pregnant women would also put garlic in their pockets especially when they go out at night 😊 a stingray’s tail is also a “known” weapon against them 😅

Manananggal uses oils to split her upper body with her lower body exposing her innards. The lower body is left standing on a spot. Usually to conquer her you put salt on the transfixed lower body
In some version the lower body dissolves from the salt while in other versions the salt aggravates the wound (exposed organs). Basically it's too painful for her to reattach her two parts.
