Is it normal to charge 50 cycle count a the battery capacity is 99% lost 1% already ?

Just upgraded from a iPhone 13 Pro Max to a 15 Pro Max. Had the 13 Pro Max for 2 years and around 700 charge cycles battery health was at 84% which is pretty good IMO far better that the iPhone 7 I had years ago and replaced the battery 3-4 times in 2.5 years

what should be use guys? otimize or 80%

What if you don't leave you phone on the charger over night

Does Smart charging works while the phone is automatically off ?
Willbit hurt the phone in that case ?

I am just glad my iPhone 15 pro max has an amazing battery. I don’t turn on 5G because my area has crap coverage and I would rather have battery health on LTE. but I also keep my screen at 60 htz for battery. Auto app refresh is off. With everything tuned down I know I’m not getting optimal use, but for me I am with the battery lasting to 8.5 hrs sot and still having 40% left. Delivering pizza is a drain on my gps but it manages to keep up! Love it.

Should I still do the 0% to 100% every month while using the 80% limit mode?

Well my charging pattern is usually when it hits 50 percent i charge it to 100 and plug out, sometimes i just use it 20 percent and then charge it to 100. So far i usually will not leave my phone charging overnight as leaving overnight trickle charging i believe will be on at night and paying electricity more in current times is a pain in the ass😅.
So in general 50-20 percent charged to 100
No overnight charging.

Seems imo this is decent to the outlook of my devices. 😅

Kindly explain how I must limit my battery charging to 80 percent in my iPhone 14 Pro . Please note location services is ON and battery optimisation is also ON in my phone .

For iphone 15 pro, is it okay to charge until 95%?

I find my phone also charges faster when I turn it on airplane mode, turn on all the screen dimming options and turn brightness all the way down, and put it on low battery mode.

So do you recommend having it charge up to 80% or optimized battery charging?

So that means if i charge my iphone during the day until it reaches 100% optimised battery charging wont work?

In the new software updates I still noticed that sometime the 80% limit doesn't work. It exceed 80%.

so should we charge up to 100% every charge? I usually charge when my batt is 20-30% then charge it up until 100%, is that good or what is a better option?

On the 15 pro you just need that 20% charge to get at the end of the day 😅

I’m not worried about keeping my battery charged between 20 and 80% or any of that other goofy stuff, I’ll just replace the battery for 100 bucks when it needs it. People are ridiculous. Obsessing over something as stupid as their battery health 😂. Let me buy 1000+ dollar phone that I can’t afford to replace $100 battery on, that makes total sense.

Not related but I’m new to Mac OS - is there a way to add spotlight search as a widget on the desktop so it is there all the time at the corner??

Blows my mind that it can't see a set alarm and have it at 100% 30 minutes or so before it is set to go off.

I got my 15 pro max in October. I only use 40%-50% of the battery each day, and after 2 weeks the phone was using optimized battery charging. it dropped to 99% capacity within 2 months. The phone never got hot, I only used apple branded stuff, and I even used a 5W apple charger overnight. My 14 Pro took 7 months to drop to 99%, and my iPhone 11 took 14 months to drop to 99%. What gives? why does the most expensive phone drop the quickest? my battery now will drop about 5-10% more than it did one month ago with the same usage. What should I do?

Battery in 17.2 is absolutely the worst & terrible (iPhone 15 Pro Max). I barely get a charge to last the full day now :(

Battery optimizer is a quick toggle switch on my Fold 5. Apple makes everything needlessly complicated.

I’m on 17.2 with 80% limit activated and last night for the first time after putting it on charge it went to 80%, stopped and in the the morning went to 100% 🤯

This is so sad they software limited the 80% limit setting, to be exclusive only for the 15.... 🙄🙄🙄

I use a smart switch with shortcuts app to limit to 80% during the day...

The problem I found with optimized battery charging is that you have to have a predictable schedule or routine. I literally only charge my phone when it gets down to 20% which might be four or five days in between charges and at any random time of day or night, and I immediately remove it from the wire as soon as it hits 100% so it doesn’t sit.

For the life of me I have no idea why these battery settings hadn’t been added to the iPhone 14 series.

14 pro used to have that 80% option i remember seeing it in my settings a little bit ago i haven’t looked in a while so idk if it’s still there or not but what’s the purpose of the 80% charge cap or what are the benefits of it?

I've not had that "Optimized Battery" message appear on the lock screen. I only had Location Services enabled
I don't have "Significant Location" and "System Customization" enabled.

So you're saying that those settings need to be enabled for Optimized Charging to work?

I charge my phone to 90% before I go to seep using wired charger then I take it off charge. I use a 65W charger.

I don’t have any of those location services settings switched on and optimised charging still works on iPhone 15 Pro.

I have a new born and my new iPhone 15 pro does optimized charging till 3am 😅 I wish it would oppose charging till 6am but hopefully it will fix itself down the road
