I quited from game since 3.13, and I will return to play POE if GGG:
1. Return mana-cost to 3.14 values
2. Turn back 3.14 flask
3. Turn back 3.13 harvest
4. Cancel all 3.15 nerfs
5. less mobs
6. less drop but more valuable
7. delete one-shot mechanics
8. rework all uniques ( even low level-ones ) to give them chance to be competitive to mirror tier rare items
9. remove currency splinters or add autoloot only for all currency

Streaming Video Games, the easiest job with the heaviest climb.

I love the honesty with how streaming is a career. As a factory worker. I go into work every day knowing that I'm not going to have a fun time. But I have the freedom to complain about it and express that. As a streamer, some days your job is fun, and that's a great upside, but when it's not fun, you have to pretend it is. That can be more taxing than just not enjoying your job in a small amount every day.

I think a big reason you can do well taking breaks and playing other games is because people aren't just watching for your takes on PoE, but also for YOU and your personality. You seem like a very genuine and likable person and that is going to carry over across any type of game.

Poe is a masterpiece, but its a means to end your irl life of u get to drawn to it, thats why huge complexity isnt the best always. Complexity is there for us to spend thousands of hours.

Gluck to this streamers! Nice video

Why do streamers feel like they can't ever take time off?
You know the league schedule.
Do people actually give a crap about the last few weeks of a league?
I'm sure you have a record of your income. So is it really linear or exponential with time spent? I'd think you'd be past the exponential stage once you pass 20 hours a week and it'd just be logarithmic and you're eventually getting to a point that you're just wasting your time.
You know it's basically 12 weeks.
Just schedule in appropriate breaks. Are you really going to lose much if you take an announced break through week 10?

I said this many times and ill say it again. If you are able to play path of exile for 5+ years and stream it religiously, you are different than most of the people. There needs to come a time where you're old and wise enough to realize: " Wait a minute! Is this what my life is? "

Imagine sitting in a fucking chair for 5 years doing same shit every day, answering same questions every day on a platform where people don't really learn anything. You can't even consider yourself a teacher cause there is no benefit of teaching kids how to play video games ( Esports maybe, but lets be real what is the % of kids that are able to compete at highest level to earn some money)
Its a waste of life. Most of you streamers seem like smart and educated individuals that are capable doing shit that matters, instead you find 1000 ways to justify how you waste your life participating in this cesspool of miserable people commenting utter nonsense in your chat. Than you read some sort of "you saved my life" letter from a fan that is just strait forward lying about half of the things he wrote cause he is just like you hiding from reality and seeks attention.

Twitch is a place of refuge for people that are afraid to live life. If anything you are a community of people who will never reap the benefits of your online friendship, and that is just tragic. To most of them viewers you streamers are nothing more than a noise in the background that makes them feel like they are not alone.

I also left PoE this league and this patch. No buffs to old skills and harvest nerf was TOOOO HUGE.
I realized poe is definately a casino game and I don't like that. "Close your eyes and slam your items" roflmo rly Chris? fuck off
Harvest was THE THING to fix path of exile end game, where you could craft your gear, trade it with others, and have fun.
But GGG works to make poe boring. Nowadays I burnout after 1 week of any league they release, specially if its a "click something, kill mobs in a circle and grab some loot".
Naaaahhh dude im cool.
Path of exile is a great game but GGG is not doing it. They don't hear the community. We said we WANT HARVEST THE WAY IT WAS (90% of community) and they dont give a fuck. So whatever. I am not playing anymore. If they don't care with us now I dont care with the game anymore.

Ive noticed personally that when i go HAM on a league start and get very little sleep, i will take a 2-3 week break after i get my build established. This time i was forced to take my time thanks to disconnnect league and it has made me enjoy the game much longer than usual. From here on out i think i am going to pace myself with every league start so i dont burn out and can go back to achieving my 36 challenges.

what sucks the most for me especialy with how much content and streams i catch and how much i learn about the gmae and whats possible........ is that i never "burn out" of wanting to paly the game. i burn out of not playing well enough to reach the state i hoped for inorder to keep pushing hard in what i enjoy. thne again ive also never settled for hard grinding yellow maps with new weird build ideas to test and experiement. instead i just feel always pushed ot reach the best while doing the best and being the best but theres never a best. ohh well. but atleast a slow burn league makes it feel better every timei push to the next exalt.

My favorite thing about the game is making builds and they've made it really fucking annoying recently, especially for console. I'll start playing again once they overhaul the crafting/socket systems. I hate having play 40hrs a week to get enough crafting materials to brick an item for the sixth time in a row.

I explain you why Chistor dropped the league, Im russian, I saw his video. So, as he said: "I suddenly lost interest in the game and I left for a some time" - He could say: guys, I lost interest in the game - at any time, but he said nothing to his viewers and its disrespectful to him and by Chistor to his viewers.

I think it's really cynical to tell people who have years of time, money and emotions invested in a game to just go play something else. This is not just about burnout, this is about GGG not caring whether they piss all over their player base or not. Remember how perfectly they timed the harvest nerf announcement with the gauntlet, how much fun that was? They must have known. If they didn't , that would makes them out-of-touch idiots, and if they did, well that would make them assholes, wouldn't it?

are people this dumb? people quit games, quit jobs, quit relationships.

People change, sometimes it's no fault of the game.. actually a lot of the times it isn't.

Trying to evaluate why people do things like this is insanely bizarre to me. kind of weird tbh.

Thank you for your honest and respectful words, I totally agree, I can only see it from a viewer's perspective, but streaming has to be a very challenging and unique kind of job. Just for a comparison: As an employee I have multiple options if I got a motivation issue, if I would be not happy with what I am doing. I could go to my boss and maybe small adaptions to the daily routine can be of big impact. Of course it depends in what kind of company you are in, but in many cases there will be options like switching tasks around a little bit or even applying to another department. I see streamers much more being forced into doing exactly what they do. Their benefit of doing exactly what the community expects from them, building up experience in this field and (hopefully) playing exactly the game in the style they enjoy is also their biggest issue: The more popular a streamer gets the more the community expects them to do exactly what they do every day, some streamers don't even need to change the game but only go on a mod for example and people get triggered. For me this would be the exactly wrong job.

I personally think motivation is everything in life. I know that there are people out there who really enjoy doing sports. I was never one of them, I have to manage myself and my motivation to still be active in this regard. Same with other topics. The only source for a streamer to be motivated on a long run can be enjoying the game they are playing and liking the interaction with their community. One could argue that the money is the motivating part and while the revenue is extremely important, nobody will be able to do such a job just for the money. You will not be successful in a such competitive market. You can maybe fake that for a couple of weeks but in the long run you will fail.

Good luck to everyone leaving the game, hopefully these guys stay in touch with the community. A timeout and a step back might be necessary to get a better view on the game and the industry as a whole. I am convinced that someone who is successful as a streamer has so many talents and skills which are useful in so many fields, that they will always be in good shape on the job market. Dedication, presentation skills, technical knowhow, experience in running a business, stress management and almost immunity to toxicity, I am sure someone with this profile will always find a good and enjoyable job.
