Wondering what is the total system power with that 5800x3d and 7900xt

Will it make a difference with 4k gaming since the GPU usually carries at higher resolution?

Good for 1440p w 7900 gre?

first i bought the 1080ti in 2018...now a couple of years later the 5800x3d. two legendary components meeting, but the graphics card ultimatley got replaced with a 4070 Ti Super this week and this setup at 1440p now feels very smooth.

5800x3D would need to no more than $170 to be worthwhile for some people afraid of upgrading their board. Thanks to all those that insist on upgrading their am4 systems I have had no issues getting all my rigs into AM5. Motherboards are the hardest part to sell. 5000 series cpus and ram sell quick.

I still run it. Such a great CPU, like dude said down below, one of the best gaming CPUs ever released. Even if he went AM5 with a 7800x3d he would get 20-30 fps more, BUT for what he would have to do, new mobo, ddr5 ram, and the CPU would have been way more expensive for 20-30 fps that he doesn't need to switch. When the 5800x3d can no longer handle modern titles, that's when I'll upgrade, which I can safely assume will not be for at least a few more years, maybe longer. I'm not bashing the new tech, but I game AND run 3D renders with this CPU and I just don't see the need for anything else. Especially, you have to watch out on this new tech, look at Intel with the 13th and 14th gen cpu's, burning up, crashing, mass instability. I know I can TRUST this CPU to handle what I throw at it. The new tech, cant trust it, till it proves itself. Great stuff man. Drew from BeanieBro's.

Is my 5600X and RX 6800 a gud combo?

Hello I recently been upgrading my whole pc and encountered bottlenecking I think this is new since I recently upgraded from a 2070super to a rx7900gre, pairing the 7900gre with a ryzen 7 3600x just ordered this cpu do you think I will run my games without the small stutter and will be able to enjoy my new rigg?

When you test the cpu ... you have to turn all the graphics setting lowest as possible .

1% min low FPS is insane on 5800X3D. It at sometimes almost double the 5600X. I have a much older 3700X and it can't keep up with my 7900XTX, my GPU usuall sits at 60%-80% usage. Ima have to wait a few more months before upgrading to 7800X3D.

Have you tested it in 2K and 4K?

I had a 3070 + 5600 and decided to change the CPU first, my ACC VR performance wasn´t going anywhere, now the GPU became the problem, so I went for a 4070, let´s see what is gonna happen.

Just got a 5700X3D from Aliexpress for £142 delivered, ridiculous VFM, my 6700XT is just pinned at ~100% utilisation the whole time. Great upgrade from the 3600.

300 bucks is a lot... and it hasn't gotten cheaper.

Just got a 7800xt over a month ago , my normal 5800x is bottlenecking it a bit at 1080p so about to grab a 3d and stoked about it ✅

With that GPU playing on 1080p. Thats stupid. Test on min 1440p.

Almost a year later & it looks like even the lowest tier AM5 7000 series desktop CPU (Ryzen 5 7600) beats the 5800X3D by about 10%. If you want to rock an AM4 motherboard build though, it's probably your best bet.

Should have tested racing simulators like Assetto Corsa Competizione or iRacing. The fps can double in sims.

is it good for multitasking?

i just bought my 7900xtx sapphire nitro and my cpu is the 3600x . Do i go for the 5800x3d ? i have found the 5950x at the same price as the 5800x3d which one do i go for ?

Is this CPU optimal for Command and Conquer 3, Kane's Wrath (on the 4k addon)? The main problem i have currently is the game works on a single core and when in game we reach high unit counts the game slows to a crawl and when we select the units and give them an order the cpu usage goes to 99% spike and the game crash. I was wondering if the CPU upgrade (or the vcache thing of this 5800x3d) would help with this problem. I want to push the game limits further and play at hogher units counts without limitations.

Using a 6700XT and my 5800X3D just yawns at it. The GPU is going max chat and the FPS just blaze. This is undervolted, curve optimiser and power limits reduced, performance has actually increased, the sound and thermals are completely inconsequential. I’m so happy.

I already own a 1080ti and used it with my 5600x for a while. Now I've moved back up to the 6700xt with a 5800x. The 5800x/3d gets way better ram speeds (3800mhz vs 3400mhz) than the 5600x. At least in my experience. Maybe I hit the silicon lottery tho.

I did the exact same upgrade and I can say it is not only the Framerate, everything runs smoother and it is a better experience overall.

i just got my hands on Ryzen 7 5800X3D from Ryzen 5 1600 even went for undervolting to unlock some extra potential from the 5800X3D u should do same there are hidden gains in that too.

my 5500 is fine. ill grab a 5950x or 5900x when it gets old and cheap second hand

Might be cause I’m 1440p but I only saw maybe a 5% increase from my 5600x to my 5800x3D. Using a 6900XT.

yeah but your a bit of a dildo tho you have a 4k card doing 1080p gaming. put that card in 4k and i bet you your bottleneck wont be there.

I'm using the 5800 x3d with a 3090, I run 3x 32" 1440p monitors in a span. Was a nice upgrade from my 10900 I had before it for the types of games I enjoy (space games, flight sims, etc. Things that are generally not as optimized as typical games). Felt like a good place to wait for the ddr 5 stuff to get settled.

I recently paired my 5800x3d with a RX 7800 XT and I'm very surprised it runs better and cooler than my RX 6900 XT. Works great with my 165 hz Corsair 4K monitor. I think a more apples to apples comparison would've been 16 thread to 16 thread would've been more appropriate.
