Great video man.... so a basic refinery when processing ores but a survival kit when processing stone? Once you have your first mining vessel you wont really need stone at all right?
Its been a while sense I have played, so I am unsure as to what has changed ... last time I played I was watching a Splitsie video on mining ships made from the drop pod.

Yes def agree with others, you need to start or continue with a solo series a self made story would be cool, something simple like gotta get back to the Alien planet for a hyper drive replacement.

#1 tip, your first ship is closer than you think at start. You can easily make the landing pod into a little flyer. If your a good pilot you dont need directional thrust, you can fly it kinda as a helicopter. However i do recommend having 1 each direction for safety. Because: PROTEC the survival kit at ALL costs.

Another beginner MP tip, as some comments hints, you can easily build your respawn ship into a flying ship. Most Servers delete the respawn ships. If you build a Hinge on your station, add the small head (3x3 head) and a small merge block, also a small merge block to your respawn pot, you can merge those and after that your respawn ship wont delete.
Its a bit tricky because some thrusters are missing but for fast progression in early game, this is one of the best solution, since you dont need to grind down all of the respawn ship

Dude 2 minutes in and im lost. If this is for beginners in fkd.

Don't forget to grab your H2 bottle from the O2 generator at the start.. big jetpack range extension... :)
The respawn pod salvage is an epic resource!

Keeping all the vanilla option as/is for a new player is a bad idea. Things like drones and weather is stuff they need to learn about after they learn the basics of energy and resource management. Ideally new player should be recommended to turn off everything that isn't building related and focus on getting the core of the game down first before they need to worry about things like combat.

Are there no hostile aliens or regular animals?

I’m trying my best to learn the game and I can’t find the custom option for solar system? My Xbox doesn’t have that option please help :(

I like this game, but it has some serious issues. I also believe it is a bit of a scam. I am referring to the vanilla game. No mods. No "updated / new" items that have to be purchased. There are no NPC's, no animals, no plants that you interact with. Why do they give you a gun? Suicide when you get bored? The stupid message that you get about the grid being too big when you have hardly built anything. I have built massive structures in other games and that is with NPC's, animals, plants, actual water etc. Is this game that poorly optimised with nothing ever spawning in other than some meteors. Yea, the mechanics are great, yet very buggy at times, but at the expense of anything else in the game. Where is the reason for leaving a planet? There is nothing but more of the same. Dig up more minerals and build more stuff, for what purpose? This is supposed to be a game, not a design app. The whole purpose of a game is "competition", like fending off enemies. Or doing quests for some form of payment, loot or upgrade. This game does not have "survival". Survival from what? Like I said I do like this game and I wish it was so much better than it is. It really should be more like Empyrion.

A 30 min video on how to listen to yourself talk... This thing could and should be 5-10 min

"Press G to open your build menu". Ya know it would be real nice if the game told you that little bit of info right as you start...At least I didnt see it if I did, and it was very frustrating.

Grind the landing gear past the blue line and re weld to learn cockpit, grind most of the interior out but leave the conveyor connected to h2o and survival kit. Get a cockpit and gyro built, take 2 of the atmosphere thrusters and put one facing back and one pointing left. Click the show hidden button and turn the other 2 on... now you can fly slightly tilted to the left and stop by leaning back (using horizon) find cobalt, iron and nickel ore found together on earth and make your base but start with a landing gear, you can turn your base into a bigger ship!

I've just started playing this game. I'm on ps4 and no matter what I do, my turbines will not spin or generate power. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but the game is in open beta right now

Fantastic tutorial I really like how compact your set up is, a small tip I think is worth mentioning is that if yournsurvival kit is further away from the refinery and assembler they will become the default and you dint need to worry about selecting the correct assembler on the drop down. Depending on how long you hold onto the first set up or if you get unlucky with the spawn it can be worth an extra conveyer tube. But fantastic guide

Me and my buddy bought this game last night and played about 2 hours but didn't get anywhere because I needed to find out how to have him join my game, find him and his ship, figure out why my ship was upside down, how to get O2/H2. So we gave up for the night and figured we'd just try to look up basic info online... I found a TON of terrible info that either didn't really answer any questions or answered them incorrectly (like referring to the BEACON not the ANTENNA and no one mentioned reducing the spawn point distance), etc...

Then I found your vid right before giving up and going to sleep and within the first 4 mins literally you answered about 5 of my MAJOR questions. And your vid was easy to follow and wasn't overly flashy with crazy music or editing. Just a really well done and helpful vid. Thanks man.

sadly i need to stop watching this tutorial, it feels like the guy had 3000 hours knowledge. he talks, clicks and do all these stuff way to fast for a tutorial. im not willing to click out and in the game so often to her again and again

I did the same thing as this video and for some reason my basic assembly which is faced correctly to the survival kit, isn’t letting me put anything in it, but when faced away it works, help? Why doesn’t it work conveyer side to conveyer side like in this video?
