I think the practical effects actually look a bit better in the original film. The CGI is a lot more obvious in this, oddly enough. Crazy how the CGI was better way back in 1999. Also, the machines are supposed to be terrifying and intimidating in their appearance. They're not supposed to be 'cute'.

modern movies lack the grit, eerie and gnarly aspects. Just look at lord of the rings vs rings of power. Everything is too clean and lacks realism. The matrix first movie when Neo wakes up is way more darker, eerie and dirty, this is way too clean looking.

Now I haven’t watched this movie all the way through for reasons but I wonder did they used the “Buckle Up Your Seat Belt Dorothy Because Kansas Is Going Bye Bye” line in this scene? Because if they didn’t it probably would fit or at the very least it be a great Obvious ‘Easter Egg Reference’ for this scene.

Compared to the original, when the brothers had to convince Warner.bros and put everything on the line since their budget was tight, this is lazy and weak. It has no punch to it, no pulse. I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to feel something but I slept through this movie. And I never do that, ever.
