This talk… just, wow. This is SO amazing, so inspired, and so needed. I’m SO grateful for this message. ♥️ And I still often refer to the last talk his gave. And we all noticed that his tie is awesome.

People shouldn't be expected to read between the lines.

Thank you Elder Pingree, what a timely talk. As a teacher, it is so important to understand that truth leads to conversion unto Christ as the Holy Ghost bears witness. What an awesome talk - I felt inspired and edified by it.

Wonderful talk! Church policies are different than the doctrines of Jesus Christ. Also when we teach the gospel, we should teach with love, but with clarity also.

This talk is so spot on for the worldly relativism that surrounds us.
Loved this quote:
"Truth taught without love can cause feelings of judgment, discouragement, and loneliness. It often leads to resentment and division—even conflict. On the other hand, love without truth is hollow and lacks the promise of growth."

…so we are supposed to be okay with policy that the institution bears down upon the congregation, even if there is no doctrinal substance to it?

This is a complete re-definition of what truth actually is. To him truth is what the LDS church leaders say - but they have often been proved to be wrong. The real definition of truth is "that which concords with reality". It is determined by evidence which is an observed subset of reality, by comparing the belief with what the evidence (reality) actually shows. If the evidence shows something different to the belief, then the belief cannot be truth and needs to either be discarded or modified to conform. An assertion made without evidence cannot be assumed to be truth until it can be backed up by evidence. Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur. (What is asserted gratuitously may be denied gratuitously). If there is no evidence, then there is no way of determining whether a statement or assertion is true or not.

Hello. I'm am investigator and truth seeker. I'm currently reading the book of mormon! Just finished the new testament 🥳

I have a question about this talk that I'm hoping someone can help me with.

Is there a point at which a members of the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints refrain from considering sins as "mistakes"? Is there any concern within church leadership that up and coming generations will permanently view and rewrite sin as "mistakes"? Inferring that sin has limited accountability or is all accidental, or is generally regarded as being committed without any thought or personal choice.

Aren't "mistakes" very different than sins? And shouldn't repeated "mistakes" be a real concern for the individual and the people in their lives?

Thank you 🙏
God bless.
All glory to God ✌ ☮ 🕊 ✝️ ☯️
