I really liked the video, it just bothers me sometimes to think that there is a problem with using these resources. I downloaded a drawing book from there (zlib specifically) and found out that the book was copyrighted and kindle version costed like 23 USD, unfortunately that specific book is just scattered around the internet in general, you can just type the name and multiple resources offer it for free. I'm not sure about these stuff anymore, sometimes it seems like the copyright holders gave up and don't really care if anyone uses the product for free or not and do something like what non-profit web-sites do, but instead of donating you actually buy the product.

On the laptop, if you can't afford one you can get through the degree without it, assuming your university / college supplies computer labs. Nothing wrong with paper notes, just an issue when it comes to reports, CAD, coding etc. Also don't organise your workload by time i.e 'I am going to do 2 hours of study for statics today' because you will not know how much work that equates to, I found it better to divide my work into measurable success such as 15 pages of a textbook or 10 questions etc, added bonus is satisfaction.

Notes from vid:
1.Get a decent laptop [see his description]
2. Keep 2 note books per class (one for notes 80 page and 250 pg for problems)
3. Use scientific cals
4. Try to get used or use the site

5. Spaced repetition: Read through lessons after class, do hw, ask for help and redo trouble qustions. Review concepts do problem 3-4 times a semester also do a practice test.
2.Try to explain to others based on memoery [basically feyman tech]
3. Look for patterns: see final answer then reverse engineer [work backwards]
4. Take course sylabus for every class make a list of deadlines & due date then put it in google calendar and make time for it. (Also check out his time management vid)
5. Check out his engineer internship vid if you want one
6. Mindset: people are in a similar boat as you

im going in for chemical engineering this year and I am so nervous. I understand it's not the same as high school and I guess it's more of the fear of the unknown

I used a 200 page notebook for calculus alone 😂

Should i get dell g15(i5 and rtx 3050) because it falls in my budget now

I used printer paper for homework that I stole from the school printer. One notebook per class. If your calculator requires a rechargeable battery to function, then it's a piece of garbage!

I have acer aspire 5, it was fast with Matlab and controls theory software.

How is it back to school if its your first year?

I have subscribed. My son is a mechanical engineering student. He did well in high school but never studied, soooooo he had zero study habits. I told him this. He didn’t listen and first semester was a DISASTER! We thought he was going to quit. It might have been because first time on his own in a dorm with three other students….I don’t know, but he told me “ Dad you were right”. He did a 180 since and just finished his second year. I was a math major in college but engineers take way more different topics and I studied for hours and hours per day just on the one. I like the no bs approach on your videos and my son watches them as well so it’s a big help to gain perspective from someone else in the same boat.

Seeking some study partners and mentors , hmu please. Haven’t signed up for any courses yet and new to the field. Wanting to build some bonds and get some guidance

Say goodbye to passing without studying...lol you think this is high-school where you study the day before, hahaha think again.
This course doesn't care about your high school distinctions , it will have its way with you if you are not carefull.
