For video about audio…. Why is the audio soooo low for all of these videos?? I have to crank it to hear these videos
Ответитьthank you
ОтветитьI think one thing that people struggle with is the band not playing together and not being able to identify where the issue is the band and where it's their mixing skills. Identifying that is a skill in itself. What to do from there, especially in a live situation, is a lifelong process. I'm glad such a focus on gainstage and low end management during the presentation. Most people don't realize the importance.
Like he was talking about masking, in the way that reducing competitive sounds so that they balance better is another key. When i mic monitors and someone has a loud mic and asks for more I will first listen ttyl see if another channel in their mix is just to loud rather than automatically turning up the channel they asked for. A small cut can be more noticing than a big boost.
I love how Jesse illustrated the mixing process using the stage. That visual will stick with me always!
ОтветитьLoved the way you took your time explaining all the concepts. Thank you.
ОтветитьWhy do you guys need this stuff to worship your god? Serious question. Like if I just want to tell someone I love them, I may need my phone for that, but I shouldn't need to EQ my voice as I'm telling them that. Before you post a super complicated, long-winded reply that proves to me that there is some value to this stuff in a worship setting, read over what you write and ask, "What would Jesus say?"
ОтветитьMuy buena masterclass, aprendí mucho !
ОтветитьIf you are recording service on a separate day then you have nothing in common with the vast majority.
ОтветитьJesse is a Christian techy Seth Rogan. Change my mind…
Thanks for the video super helpful and easy to understand. Appreciate these resources!!!
Great video! This DAW thing for sound scaping just seems like overkill to me for live mix. Use for live tracks is cool as part of the performance. I want to try it though. Thank you.
ОтветитьHello, do you have a recording like this in Spanish? I have to train people in my church in our Spanish service and need resources in Spanish for them. Thanks!
ОтветитьHe mentions that he uses two reverbs (one short, one long) and a delay, I wonder if the delay is ping-pong or some other form of delay?
ОтветитьGood Class Teachings
ОтветитьGreat video! Appreciate all the advice!
ОтветитьI'm a volunteer for my church The new. Life Tabernacle in Shreveport LA. I have a strong desire for helping the praise and worship for God. If you could help me find a online in depth sound engineer course.
ОтветитьThis was an incredibly useful lecture for those of us that can’t do a quick production course at a community college.
ОтветитьGreat video but I learn more by looking at what he is talking about. Meaning have a mixing board in front and go through what the vocab means for common folks trying to learn from the "beginning." Thanks.
ОтветитьThis was great. Thanks!
ОтветитьMaster and Slave? is that making America, great again?
Good luck
Thank you
ОтветитьGreat video and with great explanations!
ОтветитьThis is Great stuff. I'm pretty new and knew some of the concepts. The Mastering part at the end will help me a lot. I can see where I've gone wrong in some of my past recordings.
ОтветитьSorry Jesse is not an expert I wanted to correct that
ОтветитьPlease don't ever interrupt a workshop session with your local announcements. It's disruptive to the flow of information. Otherwise Give Jesse his own segment UNINTERRUPTED please 🙏
ОтветитьProbably the best explanation of the physics of audio mixing I've ever heard. Great lecture! Saved and downloaded for replay later.
ОтветитьJake thank you for this great video. As a intermediate mixing engineer, something sticked out to me between Luke Hendrickson from Bethel and Jesse. Luke said he is a stereo guy, for him everything should be stereo. On the other hand Jesse is saying he likes mono because it helps him have more control of the source in terms of placement in the mix. Which approach should many of us beginners/intermediate take? Bethel mix sounds so good but so does Red Rock church with Jesse too.
ОтветитьBefore you can run, you have to walk. Before you walk, you have to crawl. While I appreciate the information, I wish the information was actionable. For example, getting a good monophonic mix is more important than jumping into a mastering a stereo mix. Understanding general EQ use-- positive as well as negative EQing and a hands on demo is more important than just theoreticals. Focusing on fundamentals such as the relative loudness of each channel (lead singer vs background singer), (lead instrument vs supporting instruments), (percussion loudness), etc. with demos -- would be 100% more effective than just talking about it. I would also suggest talking about analog vs digital consoles, dbx DriveRacks, Jensen transformer DIs, microphone recommendations, 2-way talkback system, hand signals of worship team to sound team, notifying the worship team when all channels are muted so guitar can be plugged/unplugged, etc. etc. I can easily think of two dozen (crawl) items that should've been discussed before talking about advanced panning, reverb and other (running) items. In short, fundamental mixing skills/tips are far more important than talking about advanced theoretical mixing.
Ответитьdude it was revelation to me
ОтветитьGreat video!
When he spoke about 3D mixing all I could think about was
United Pursuit ( the Garden album ).
There are so many layers on it
Make a video in Sir Indian Language
ОтветитьNice vidio
ОтветитьA super cool event could be joining a church wanting to do a full system upgrade (acoustic treatment, drum enclosure, amps, soundboard, etc etc) and the live workshop becomes setting everything up for the church. Then you have a rotating panel of professionals coming in over three to four days teaching about why they chose what they did for the church. Talk about PA design, how to decide how much acoustic treatment, channel strip assignments, gear inventory management, so many possible topics…
ОтветитьGreat video! But in a 20 min drive to work there were 6 ads I had to skip. That's absolutely Overkill and makes me want to avoid this channel.
ОтветитьIm using Waves Tune Realtime + Midi Controller (Korg Nanokontrol 2) to control scale root/type in my live DAW (Reaper/Studio One)
ОтветитьGlad to see I’m not the only sound guy that makes fun of the lead singer 😃
ОтветитьHe doesn't really go into compression huh?
ОтветитьRemembering last time i was arguing a singer who is used to DAW on a laptop, my point was, DAW laptop and digital console are completely the same, and the singer point is they different. Hahaha. Then I just shut up cause I already know. 😁😁😁
ОтветитьHello. I have a question for you guys. What's the best way to get the mixer's audio to be as clean as possible?
Because we're capturing audio with a Focusrite 2i4. Moreover, the audio appears to be severely compressed. (the mix is good)
Do you think you can help us with our problem?😅
This dude definitely knows his stuff!
ОтветитьThis just further confirmed that I have no idea what I am doing. lol I definitely took a lot of that information in, but I don't have the knowledge or expertise with our software to actually implement it.
ОтветитьThe amount of time he walks out of the frame and the director crossfades the video is mind-numbing. I know its an audio class, but the lack of video skills is distracting.
ОтветитьIs that devil worshiping?? Cool!
ОтветитьGreat video
