Kids are Monsters, literally i don't know about others but when i was 8 or 9 i could do the 'skin the cat', a move from calesthenics, and you should also know that i did absolutely nothing other than eating, sleeping, studying and pooping when i was a kid and now my fatass can't even hang onto a bar for 20 seconds.

I did that in my childhood before even knowing it's a calisthenics exercise. I used to do that on a tree branch.

I started self teaching myself calisthenics like 3 months ago and I randomly decided to do a backflip while hanging then returning back. I didn’t know it was a legit exercise!! Wow!!

How to fix when your toes get stuck at the bar and you struggle to get in smoothly? I mean rings, but if you want to learn shrimp flip.

can you assist on question please: i can do all movement perfectly and the way i see i can do it back to starting point.However, when i done with pulling all the way when shoulders twisted at max i either release bar automatically either i can not go back all the way(also i have power to do that but smth is not clear)

I can go halfway like till I'm upside down but going beyond that scares the shit outta me....any suggestions on how to overcome that fear ?

If you do it very controlled its a great compound exercise.

Great for shoulder stability, it also works the delts, the lat, the core the chest, and grip strength.

It definitely helps with overall confidence on the bar too.

When he gets to the end of the skin the cat movement, can you keep going, in a clockwise movement, instead of going backwards, anti-clockwise? So like you are rolling continuously in a full 360 degrees

I remember being able to do this since I was a kid and I've simply never lost the ability to do it. It seems that this is a move that most healthy children should be able to do by default before years of bad posture and inactivity errode your ability to do it.

I remember when I did skin the cat and the 2nd time I may a landed on my feet the wrong way by mistake. I did that because I was scared of how I would a landed and I didn't think about how to let go and when.

I can do it but my feet hit the bar and I have to individually get each foot through while hanging upside down!

I tried doing this on the garden swing set, I ended up spinning back onto my arse lol. Good thing the grass is soft.

Great content guys. One question some people says that thumbless grip is a "bad habit" for calisthenics and im feel more confortable with it. I see you using a thumbless here. Should i continue to thumbless or try to grip around the bar? Im afraid to reset my progression...

I didn’t know you needed to train to do that, because when I started for the very first day to try this sport, I was able to do that naturally, it was normal for me I never needed any training or learn I just u know did it like it was a common thing for me like walking, I am really surprised to see that this needs training
