honestly, i think the thing that impresses me the most about origami king’s animation is the legion of stationary. you can see so much of their characters through just their idle and attack animations.

Okay I have to know: have you seen the video game called “Sky: Children of the Light”? The animation is simple, but detailed and I’m really fond of how the characters move. There’s virtually no words in it but the character communicated through body language (all characters are lacking any facial features except the eyes, which are just dots) and gesture is incredible. Paired with the really dynamic lighting, I find it incredibly beautiful

I'm starting to think that Arc Sys should do an Ace Attorney game for some reason.

honestly I played ori this year on a whim and I have never fallen in love with a game so fast

Ok I don’t know if it came out 2020 might be 2019 but horizon zero dawn looks freaking amazing during the dialogue exchanges the main character looks just human like so human I was questioning if the just somehow imposed the real actor in there. Seriously.. i actually haven’t played it but i was at a friends and he happened to be playing it and I was impressed gameplay might be another story thou.

Also Ori will and the wisps is fantastic like the first games graphics were great and they somehow made it so much better like that water area with the pink and purple plant life... I would just sit there and take it in.

I wish I had the know-how to explain how and why I believe it to be a part of a great collection of animations in 2020, but Genshin Impact is definitely pretty incredible with what it does for a mobile gacha that isn't doing the squash-and-stretch png image animation thing. It's incredibly endearing on every single one of the many playable (and some non-playable) characters.

Was hoping to see 13 Sentinels in this list because that game's visuals are just absolutely STUNNING
But I never heard of "the pathless" and I can't believe I missed out on a game as beautiful as that, I will play it whenever I get the chance

The animation in TLOU 2 was fantastic, it makes it all the more heartbreaking that the game both behind the scenes and actually path went the way it did.

Maybe take a look at Darksiders 2 from 2012.
It has some of the best fighting animations I've ever seen.
