What if you didn’t explore a lot of different things when you were younger bc of fear of failure and now your still trying to figure out what to do?

I am 43 yo, lives in Indonesia. I started to built my career at 19, from working as finance staff, then assistant manager, and the last was became a co- owner; for some decent companies. Now i stay at home, have some passive incomes. Eventho i dont do any office jobs in current, neither reached great success from it, but i think now in the greatest profession i ever have: sholawat reciter. 😊

In my religion, if God gives a lot time to able to recite prayers, and also sholawat to prophet Muhammad, so its a very luxurious privilege. In my humble opinion, having peacefull life & mind is much better, than reach any successfull things valued by others' measurement. Stay in safe country, cozzy house, safe environment, have passive incomes, no illness, surrounded by beautiful & healthy children, and have lotta times to praise The Most Gracious & Most Merciful, is so worthy of gratitude. Alhamdulillah.

I have discovered that just as surrounding yourself with successful people can help you be successful, if you surround yourself with young people, it helps you feel younger. I am grateful every day for the young people I am with every week. Oh, and good health is a great resolution to have.

Good god there are so many like me ive always felt alone and most of teenage and twenties were not that great but good thing i did was i tried to learn somethings even though it was very hard for me to focus but like jackbutcher said i just need to put little more effort, this video is sent to me at right time thankyou God ❤ i could relate to it so much a few weeks back i was struggling with barre chords too lol😂 and said to myself if only i didn't learn songs on piano i would have mastered barre chords by now😅 now i feel very good for trying out different things, Thankyou 🙏 so much for this video I wont hate myself no more for not having a job and living with my parents while my peers are in foreign countries earning a lot I will remember to constantly learn and put in a little more effort and very soon i will be making my family proud and happy. ❤❤

In academia, what predicts faculty productivity is publishing early. The earlier you start putting out papers, the better. Late bloomers tend to struggle and eventually exit competitive academic careers. I’m not sure whether this is true about other professions. But starting early is often a predictor of future success. In music, for example, you should have built a decent catalogue of music before your first major hit to be able to sustain newly found success. If not, you risk being a one-hit wonder. This is simply because you haven’t built the muscle. People who eventually succeed are those who have some kind of track record of consistency before the big break.

As someone who did well in school and uni, but towards graduation kind of just... dropped off, a video like this helps a lot. I was surrounded by and made friends with the type of highly successful you want to be around, but in my junior/senior year I kinda just let myself go.

Reading these comments and watching this video really did help me with what i am currently going through 💪🏼. Im young and its really tough for me to get a job. I cant study further for what i initially wanted so I have to go study something else (back to square one). My business isnt hitting off but i am about to take the biggest risk ever....

I’m 35.. pole vaulted for 2 years in HS then got pregnant.. realistically, if someone had believed in me, I could have vaulted again my Sr. year and maybe gone to college for it.. many regrets for years. Last year I started as a ‘jumps’ coach at a HS. Since then I started running. Started pole vaulting a few weeks ago at a training facility.. while I probably won’t go to college for it because now I’ve been there and done that.. it feels SO good to do it again and I know this time I’ll be better at it! 💖💖until you’re dead, it’s never too late.

I struggled with anxiety disorders( OCD and SAD) and depression in most of my 20s. I was also careless and clueless about my life. Now at 31 starting my life from scratch. At times I regret about the time I wasted but no matter what I do I cannot go back and correct my mistakes. My struggles have changed me for good and I am hopeful for my future.

I was an actor for 9 years after college. Pandemic hit and I went back to grad school to study documentary film. I’m 34 now, hope to finish next year, and I’ve made a few films and had some decent successes, but I generally feel like it picked this up way late in life and wished I had started sooner. I also work a full-time job which pays my bills but is not very fulfilling nor very related to my creative pursuits. I’ve always pursued uncertain creative careers and often felt a lot of doubt and even guilt about it sometimes, so I can relate to that Instagram post. But I know from many people’s experiences that there is still so much growing to do and so many opportunities ahead, and that, at my age, I still have a chance to start living the kind of life I’d always aspired to have.

in terms of soccer/football heres an example. Although you do have Kylian Mbappe and Leo Messi who have started playing pro at like ages 15 or 16. Jamie Vardy was playing for a semi pro team at 23 and at 28 he signed for Leicester City in the premier league and in 2016 he and Leicester City won the premier league. I hope this example helped!

- I am 29 and living with my parents. I got fired from my job delivering fish. Also, I am 300lbs of fat.
- The fact that I live with my parents means I don't have to pay rent or food.
- The fact that I am single and unemployed means that I have lots of free time to learn valuable skills that will lead to a good job. Also, I have lots of free time to work out.
- I got a gym membership and started learning how to code in a great free Bootcamp (Odin project). In five months I will be in shape and employed as a web dev.
- Then I will use some money from the salary I will be making and take a course on blockchain development on Udacity. Four months later, I will have a job as a Blockchain dev, that pays a high salary.
- Then I will thank my parents for helping me, and pay off their house.
- Then I will find someone to love, who also loves me.
I promise I will revisit this comment in a year. I swear.

This is a high quality video. Your best point was how feeling left behind is another form of procrastination. I never thought of it that way, but it makes complete sense, and your reasoning was solid. Other than that, the most helpful thing about this video is the comments section. Reading the stories of others certainly made me feel a lot less isolated. I also found it interesting how people my age (27) who are far more accomplished than me still feel behind. The feeling is relative to who we’re surrounded by, and it’s not necessarily tied to actual reality. Although, it is clear that many commenters ARE in highly discouraging situations, which is definitely not a product of comparison. But if you’re someone who “finished their PhD 2 years late” and feels behind, I do suggest you read the other comments here. Maybe you’ll feel better about your situation. You can’t see the people in the mud at the base of the mountain when you’re near the peak staring longingly up at the millionaires in their private jet 😂. Look down here for a sec!

I just started DJ'ing last year and have been practicing hard, I just recently walked into town advertising myself to play in some bars and Clubs. Out of all the 10, I got 3 responses back. This weekend I am playing in my first club ever, I am pretty terrified but it's an opertunity I need to take to move up. Somewhat down the line I am gonna take a guitar repair course and start my own repair business. But you have to take action. Its scary but you can do it
