My Review of Path of Exile

Remove a stone or 2 and do lower tier maps with the league mechanic you will do better than higher tier maps until your character is stronger

They reworked endgame mapping system many times over the past few years, it's taken ALOT of refinement to reach where it is, it's always improving.

im currently taking my phd just to understand poe's skill tree system. few more yrs & i'll be able to play poe & maybe fully understand it

PoB and GGG's trade website are quite recent tools.. Especially if you played during the Trade by GGG Forum days. Trading and build guides were very different back then and so was very different game experience. Biggest one for me is hitting the forums and looking at somebody's wares manually and you would discover items that help you or inspire you for a new build. Trade experience to day is too much automated and lifeless.

Play Ruthless instead. Makes common uniques very exciting.

When you make as many characters as people generally do in PoE the exact same campaign over and over becomes an absolute nightmare. Not that it's bad but it's the same. All thousand times. Give me ANYTHING new. Give me D3 adventure mode ffs. ANYTHING!!

From what I've seen they're not so much going away from the links, the new system will be very similar but will also allow multiple gem setups without manually swapping them from the inventory, which is nice.

Seasonal mechanic like one we got this league, is mostly for Magic Find. It may sound weird, but not every league has smart, tactical mechanic like Sanctum. Some just for blasters, group players, MF'ers. And it is not bad thing. Mechanics like this offers youto try group play instead of solo playing. Or try a mega zoomy blaster build.
Compaign is 100% nor a problaim. Who's yelling about compaign are those who's finishing atlas in 2 months= Blizzard audience.

what a great vid, im actually looking forward to a super noob's guide to poe, ive always played it on and off and did beat the campaign and had fun but eventually got overwhelmed to continue

just a quick comment on the boss design. look up tie23 if you havent and his uber elder runs. he did a lvl 24 uber elder run. literally "no hit". thats how well the boss design is in PoE. its not about stacking stats (even though you can). its designed that a "no hit run" is possible. i dont "hate" d4, but if you want to look at boss mechanics and hitbox and design choice? I'd say PoE wins in boss design and really wont say they are "equal", but thats just personal opinion.

I'm sure someone else might've mentioned it. But Tornado Shot is NOT expensive at all. In comparison, I've spent the same amount of Divs on my TS that you have on your LA Deadeye. And I was playing Tornado Shot from the jump of this league & been playing TS Deadeye since bow builds became A LOT more accessible since Crucible. Tornado Shot ONLY becomes expensive when you're aiming for a +1/+2 Bow with high eDPS & aiming for a +1 Quiver. Neither of which are needed nor required. You can legit save up to get an Awakened GMP & you'll be at +10 Arrows just from that alone. BUT people grab the +1/+2 bows to essentially bypass GMP to put a better damage support gem. Otherwise, a Tornado Shot build/POB is like 95% the same as Lightning Arrows.

In other news, loved the review! I 100% agree with the Casual/New portion. When I first got into POE during... Anarchy League/Rogue Exile League, I didn't understand shit. I came back during Betrayal & have been playing ever since. Although I did initially play back when there was only 3 acts & had to farm Piety for gear. Another thing about the Casual/New player thing, it's absolutely helpful/easier if you've played other aRPGs before & were half-way decent at them. Cause it helps with some core understanding for POE.

For me, HC SSF is the ultimate fun. I'm a super casual player that can't ever make it to the end game, I usually get to T7-8 maps, in leagues. Trying to get as far as possible without dying, on stuff that I found or crafted, without following a guide, is super fun and rewarding. I'm happy you liked the game

Very fair. PoE has come a long way since it released. PoE2 is aboutta stomp the ARPG genre.

Nice video, Im pleasurable surprised how high score you gave PoE. Also one note: they're not moving away from linking system they're changing it so its tied to gems, not items. That way you can change your equipment freely while you only need a main skill with 5 sockets to get whats currently a 6-link. But now that PoE2 will be a separate game the new system might be only a PoE2 thing.

PoE was still great when it launched, though it did have many glaring issues. It was absolutely godly if you were a big D2 fan. The innovation and passion even on day 1 was visible from miles away.

Either way, good job trying something new, it's the best ARPG without a doubt, if you like going hard.

Both games dog poop. Economy in PoE is one of the worst even by standard of 2003 games. Laterally need to employ a trader to do your biding/trading have spend a full day to chase an item on the trade just for the item to get from one player to the next player for the sole reason to get sold couple minutes later for little bit more such a waist of time. Same goes when you want to make currency the spam is endless, can spend all day just trading your trash not doing any game to the point where you say had enough with this and just ignore it altogether and cross fingers you get something useful for your build which will never happen. PoE real name is RNG with role play elements. Diablo 4 on the other hand is such a gem that when you play it for two hours that's it the shine is gone too bad you paid 100 dolla to the trash can.

If there was an award in the Game of the year awards in the category of the dog poop game of the year this two games will make you feel tight.

You need to try a slammer, it's a very fun and active melee playstyle.

As a now avid path of exile player, who only recently got into the game last league as a result of the failure of d4, it pleasures me to see the exact same kind of enjoyment that I had when I first started playing that Raxx is now also experiencing. This game is so so so good. I'm already having so much fun blasting in Affliction League and I cannot wait for Path of Exile 2. Screw you Blizzard!

Poe is a great game but it has headed down the Path,pardon the pun, of WOW with bloated content and systems. As a new player it is a sh$t show and the amount of currencies and crafting mats is ridiculous. On top of you have one of the worst bag capacity in gaming history to go along with the two million items currencies.

Someone tell him how to get a 5th map slot so he can customize his map more;)

I think you somehow completely missed the presentation of the game -> sound, music, graphics. What is your take on that? Do you play the game without sound and music?

Poe is like 10 years old and D4 isn't even a year. Hate people comparing the two. They are totally different games. Both has positives and negatives.

I like path of exile and think its a great game. But sometimes I don't end up playing because I don't really feel like looking up and following a build guide the entire time Im playing. I think the idea of it being "expensive" to experiment in video games is just stupid.
