Alan Wake 2 confirmed baby let's goooo!

The AWE at Cauldron Lake, is Alan returning. Which makes the setup and premise for the story of Alan Wake 2 all the more interesting.

The whole dialogue of Wake and Zane made me realize something:

- Alan Wake writes crime books.
- Max Payne is a former Remedy IP.
- Max Payne is a character written by Alan Wake.
- Thomas Zane is a film director.
- Thomas Zanes makes a Max Payne movie in collab with Alan Wake.

Therefore, Max Payne, Alan Wake and Control are part of the same universe.

This DLC would’ve hit way harder if I played Alan Wake before it.

Can´t wait for the next Alan Wake :)

How could Thomas Zane’s diver suit have been a role or character? It’s what he was wearing when he brought Barbra Jagger into the lake.

There is a page of Wakes handwriting hidden in the panopticon and it triggers a vision. I think this is in the base game

Just found out that Alan Wake's voice actor is Dr. Darling... Holy shit!

Can't wait to see this come to fruition with both Alan Wake 2 and Control 2 eventually. Be interesting if Remedy retroactively put something that connects these games to the upcoming Max Payne Remakes. It's a good time to be a Remedy fan.

I played Control and AWE knowing about the alan wake stuff. How did I not get the cut scene with Wake and Zane? Can you miss it or is it hidden?

I really love how they were teasing AW 2 here, a really well done build up for the sequel and for the connected universe. Normally I am not a fan of such interconnected universe, but seems like Remedy has really thought this through and prepared themselves. Can't wait to see how Alan Wake 2 is connected to Control.

Oh my god i wish i noticed ot when i was playing through it, but when Tom zane and Wake talk, zanes faces turns into max from max pain for a split second

The fact this Zane is voiced by Illkka Vily, telling Alan they're working together, and showing Alan a clip of Mr Darling who's played by the actor voicing Wake, tells me Alan was never real to begin with.

So if Alan Wake 1 was about writer's block, does this mean Alan Wake 2 it's about Method Acting?

Poor Alan. He could be a bit of a douche but he didn't deserve to be trapped in a mindfuck prison for 13 years.

Couldn’t stand this game. It was by far the worst Remedy game, imo. BUT, since I am licking my chops for Alan Wake 2, I thank you for saving me the trouble of playing through it again for the DLC.

The scene between Zane, and Alan was almost exactly like the one in Alan Wake 2 at the Oceanview Hotel only live action by time Alan Wake 2 graced us with its presence after 13 long years.

This DLC was happening during Alan Wake 2 cause they mentioned the name of the agent that is from the FBC that is in AW2 investigating Bright Falls

This makes so much sense now after 2. Tom saying they're working together and that he's been writing again, it was scratch the whole time. Also makes sense why his memory was wiped in the beginning of 2, he knew too much. Remember it's a spiral

I couldn't imagine how seeing this must've felt like years ago. I just got into control and alan wake 1/2. Loving every moment

After beating Alan wake 2, this DLC feels so much cooler. This set up so much in the sequel

I'm going to be an advocate to unpopular opinion and say that I don't really like the Control/Alan Wake crossover/ connection thing. I preferred Alan Wake when it's stood alone on its own to feet and wasn't interwoven with the narrative of another game that was totally different and that I just can't take as seriously. Now the whole universe feels less realistic. Also, I get tired of remedy and their over reliance on cliche western horror cinematics like the rorshak imagery flashing across the screen and the jerky back and forth motions of characters in cut scenes and stuff like that, which isn't really scary, and doesn't really make any sense, and doesn't really serve any purpose other than to be eye-catching I guess.

This scene is on AW2 but different enviroment and setting

The AW2 scene was spoiled for me, but that is all. I'll have to wait 2 weeks before playing AW2 (grad school finals) but comparing the two
It feels like the version in AW2 is what Wake sees. Zane appears as another person (mostly that is) so Wake trusts this Zane more. But here in Control, it is Faden seeing it closer to reality. we see that Zane is a duplicate of Wake, which to me instantly means Mr. Scratch.
I spent thanksgiving break playing the remaster, and I played some of Alan Wake's American Nightmare, which I'm chipping away at during the weekends as a break from assignments. Even though American Nightmare isn't necessary, some even say it is non-canon (despite being written by Sam Lake AND carrying themes forward, as well as being an unsuccessful escape) it seems that it does add more context just like Control does.

Holy shit the 2nd cutscenes dialogue is the same as the hotel scene in AW2

I had no idea it was the same studio that had mad Wake and Payne. So to find out Wake was in the game was so out of left field for me. It was such an incredible moment

I remember playing through control before I even know what an Alan Wake was and being extremely confused. Coming back to these after finishing AW1 is amazing, wish it could've been my first experience

I’ve yet to play AW2 but I skipped American Nightmare altogether because I didn’t see it as canon. Now I have to get an Xbox or gaming pc to play it. My current computer doesn’t play games.
