Are You Truly Saved? Sermon by Paul Washer at Grace Community Church

Why does Calvinist care if a person is "truly saved?" They believe that it is entirely based on God choosing those individuals. The question alone goes against the beliefs of Calvinism. Being truly saved is not about the absence of sin in your life or exhibiting the right behaviors to fruit-inspecting Christians. Salvation is the presence of your God through your faith in Christ.

I'm not to sure why he omitted part of the meat of THAT VERSE.

{1 John 5:13(c)... and that ye may BELIEVE ON THE NAME OF THE SON OF GOD.}

I love Paul Washer's passion for Christ, this sermon was really helpful to me today. Christ delivered me out from a generational occult family 10 years ago. I've never been so isolated in my entire life, and that's saying something...but God. God is faithful to make sure my needs are met, plus...even when depression, one of Satan's greatest tools it seems, is a relentless enemy. Maranatha!

Everyone thinks they’re going to heaven because they’re “good” and it’s so sad that they’re so deceived, but they always compare themselves to other humans who are all flawed when they’re supposed to be comparing themselves to Jesus Christ who is perfect and HE should be our standard and who we can and should compare ourselves too, NOT other fallen humans as ourselves

God IS mysterious, but unlike the Gnostics, the answer isn't "You can't know him till you've been initiated," (which would mean that man can somehow force himself or others to know God via force of will, and that that will is somehow chosen by man... but rather "You can't know him until he works in you as faith." Because choice is the illusion. It's the illusion that causes pride - thinking "I did this and I deserve to be proud."

Paul washer wheres your jesus amidst all the disgraces from the world? Look this calvinism wrecked my life where is your jesus? Let me talk to him... because of him i am almost dying if he had had given me peace i would ve been fine... show him...

Last December 2022 I was saved ..but before that God was calling me but I wasn’t Born Again.. his time I know I have salvation because I repented my sins and still do and worship The Lord Jesus Christ..
And it was through John MacArthur who convicted me of course with the Holy Spirit…that I was at the wrong church..left that church
And I found my church who speaks the True Gospel ..it was absolutely no mistake that this church follows John MacArthur and all Godly men…
So many false teachers out there..✝️✝️🙏✝️✝️

I went to a Pentecostal church for a while and it messed me up for awhile bevause I started to think I was not saved because I have never Spoken In tongues . This was a fantastic message . Thank u Jesus for your grace and the guilt I feel when I sin .

As Christians it is very wonderful to try to live without sin,,but it has nothing to do with your salvation as this false teacher is preaching,,,As humans we are already condemned for sin,,,The way of salvation is Faith in Jesus ,,,Faith in the Savior ,,Not our behavior for a savior,,This would be trusting in ourselves for salvation,,trusting in a sinner rather than the Savior This man is preaching a works based salvation ,,and twisted scripture,,,Salvation is though Faith alone,,Doing the will of the father,,and that is to believe in the Son,,Not sure of the denomination of this preacher,,probably Calvinist,,,he is preaching what is called a lordship salvation,,,The concept is earning your salvation though works of self righteousness ,,Totally not Biblical,,the only thing that makes us righteous is Jesus on the cross

Worth repeating.... This guy does not preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He preaches another gospel.. which is no gospel at all. But people love it because it tickles their ears and gives them something to boast about. I am convinced this man is not even saved. Around the 37 minute mark he says the most insane thing.... he says something like "it's usually the holiest godliest people in the church who come forward weeping and those who are stoned cold carnals sit back there as tho they had no sin at all. And what are we seeing? The division of the sheep and the goats!" Wow! Sit in those seats folks and that is a sure sign you are going to hell! So he knows that for sure? He can see into their hearts? And he's just going to judge and publicly condemn and shame those people who did nothing more than innocently sit in their seats? God have mercy on those people who work the third shift or have a bad back. Charismatics do that same sort of thing all the time. If you weren't rolling around on the floor or dancing you had sin in your life. It's the exact same thing. You come forward after the service crying your eyes out [because nobody can fake that] and that proves you are a true Christian. Stay in your seats and you hate God! That'll teach them! Then after all of that, he actually went on to say "it's not about perfection. It's about living a life of repentance! " What?? You just stated people who sit in their seats while others go down front crying are going to hell!? But now you say it's not about perfection. No, it's about people who get up and cry or hate God by staying seated. You can't make this up.

Justified FREELY (saved from the penalty of sin which is hell in the lake of fire)

Grace vs. Work
Romans 11:6-6 (KJV) And if by grace, then [is it] no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if [it be] of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

Worketh Not but Believeth
Romans 4:3-5 (KJV) 3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. 5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

Free Gift Of God
Ephesians 2:8-10 (KJV) 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Not By Works!
Titus 3:4-7 (KJV) 4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; 6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; 7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

So you’re saying we can do whatever we want and still be saved!? Yes. We must break down salvation, and then your life in Christ, your conversation or manner of life are separate from your salvation justification positionally.

Should we then continue living in sin as we please? The Bible has the answer to this question!
Godforbid
Romans 6:1-2 (KJV) 1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

This how God wants us to view ourselves AFTER WE ARE SAVED BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH ALONE FREELY BY HIS GRACE!
Romans 6:11-14 (KJV) 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members [as] instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members [as] instruments of righteousness unto God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Wish my church learned this…. So many are being lead that it’s our actions…. And only a select few “perfect” would make the bride of Christ….. I have finally learned to ignore these. But my wife and her family are twisted by a false doctrine called “gospel assembly” these are dangerous “Pentecostal” churches who not only believe that you must speak in tounge to be saved but that you must live you life without sin to be considered to be in heaven…… I know in my heart that there is NO action of me but only through Jesus am I saved. I always squirmed in my seat every time I hear the phrase “I went 15mins without sinning” so dangerous

(Mathew:22-39) CHRIST talks about Neighbour = it can be anyone (goat or sheep). Because we don't choose our neighbours, GOD does. In (Mathew: 25-40) CHRIST talks about Brethren or Brother = co-Believer(sheep). And that's different from neighbour (who can be sheep or goat)

I love this man!it's because of him I question my own salvation and weather baptist is the right church for me because Baptist believe once saved allways saved and my gut is saying that's not true.!what happened to his eye?

Paul Washer, Tim Conway, Bill Wiese and John Bevere are my favorite preachers in America. I am from France and Madagascar. Thanks GOD that there are still preachers faithful to the word of GOD.

I wish i had a pastor near me that delivers the message like Paul Washer, John MacArthur, Vodie Bauchman & Raul Ries. I know the "perfect' church does not exist, but it's so hard to find a church which the pastor delivers the message of Christ as sharp that it leaves you, not skipping with your wife out of church straight to dinner & a movie but, cut, broken & running to your prayer closet to get on your knees, feeling like one needs to continue to communicate with Christ & cry out to Him, broken, asking for forgiveness & begging for His spirit to never leave me. If anyone knows of a sound doctrine centered church in Ft. LAUDERDALE, FL. please lmk.

Paul is SO gloomy!! He does not seem to have any Joy in the Lord or peace, or Confidence in his salvation !!! Not a good witness.

Paul is relying on his own ability to be righteous, so he'll never enter that rest that Jesus paid for with His very life.

That intro, in his summation of how he judges a place, "I want to leave and be a better man." That. That is eye opening.

I can't recall when last I felt that at a church. I know a small handful of people that I feel that way with.
