I have a 2019 Jetta with an automatic transmission. My driving is approximately eighty percent highway miles And my average MPG is mid 40s. On a recent trip from Chicago to Cleveland I got 51 MPG while running the AC and keeping pace with turnpike traffic. This along with inexpensive maintenance, has made this car a true pleasure to own.
ОтветитьThese cars are amazing for the price
ОтветитьI am driving a passat tri. The jets feels like a mini pass at. I like your mpg given VW don't sell diesel.
Fyi passage mpg is 50 ±
Best I got on my last pass at pre emissions was 67 mpg
My 2022 Jetta gets phenomenal fuel efficiency averaging 47 mpg highway and 35 mpg city driving. Beautiful car with sturdy build. Very happy that I bought this car.
ОтветитьKind of making me want to trade in my 2022 WRX. I'm on a 2400 mile road trip and its burning shit tons of premium.
ОтветитьIt didn’t do about 50mph it did 54 makes no sense to round down that much.
ОтветитьI'd be curious to see how reliable these 1.4 engines are over the years and how many miles they will last. I like to know my car can last well over 200k miles and be reliable. Nearly every single car I've owned no issues going beyond 200k miles. Never owned a VW though!
ОтветитьI've had my 6spd Jetta for a month or so, and can confirm that the mileage is outstanding. Cruising at 70-72mph will net 49.9-50mpg. Cruising at 74-80mph drops the mileage to 46mpg. Very impressive for this type of car.
ОтветитьGot 650 on my 2020 jetta manual
ОтветитьHad an S but I love my GLI. I still get 34-38mpg in a 2.0 DSG car
ОтветитьAre these reliable cars or junk?
ОтветитьI had a 2019 Golf Sportwagen 1.4T 8spd auto. Did a 1000 mile road trip from southern to Northern California and back averaging between 42-46 mpg and I thought that was absolutely insane. I miss that car!
ОтветитьI know that the standard Jetta's curb weight is pretty trim, and gets great gas mileage compared to others in the same class with the same engine size, but on my first test drive of an SE with an automatic, it still felt like a little engine doing far too much work trying to move big mass. It's peppy, but it's not effortless feeling. The 8-speed automatic definitely helps with the MPGs and extracting all the power efficiently, but at the expense of it being high-strung and not very composed. VW seems to have mitigated this with making the suspension's spring rate soft(ish) and the shift points, lazy, but that doesn't equal a composed experience. It's busy, at best. It's an okay driving experience, but it's definitely wearing its price-point on its sleeve.
Ответить.GOV and the Auto industry doesn't want you to know about this kind of info, because they are colluding to try to force everyone into a hybrid or EV these days. Awesome GAS results!
ОтветитьYou should have put the screen on that shows the RPM so we could see what the engine was turning at highway speed!
ОтветитьI owned a MT base Jetta 2017 with the new 1.4 Turbo, I was getting 45 mpg, I miss my Jetta 😢
ОтветитьThat is for real my 1.4 2019 Jetta got 46 from phila to Atlantic City and back at 80 with air on and got 55 in Vermont on rte 7.
ОтветитьI get 45 mpg minimum on the highway in my 2022 Jetta S manual, doing 75-80. If i slow down to 65-70, usually will get 48-50 mpg. The best I've gotten was 56 mpg which was on winding back roads in upstate NY, mostly around 50 MPH
Ответить60 mpg Yes I have 2021 R-line Jetta with 8 speed transmission and if I drive 60 on highway I get 60 mpg all the time. I have asked other people that own one & they said the same. I wonder why nobody from VW talks about it. Go 70 & 54mpg
ОтветитьI have 14 jetta gli i get 23 mpg wich is not good for a 4 cil sedan, think im gonna trade it in for one of this
ОтветитьCan chance you’ll drive the Automatic version of this car?
ОтветитьI have a 2023 Auto trans. base model, same color. I have been getting 45+mpg and sometimes up to 55mpg. I drove From Colorado to Sea World in San Antonio last week and had 670 miles on one tank in eco mode. It was 105F down there and that killed the mpg just a little, The car rides well, tons of room and has plenty of get up and go for what it is and the altitude doesn’t seem to phase it. It did great over a few mountain passes. Its already paying for 50% of itself in gas savings.
ОтветитьWow that’s actually insane how good it is, 50-54mpg is impressive
ОтветитьJust came back from 380 mile trip to Rehoboth Beach. 51 mpg there, 47 mpg return. Picture documented. A/C on all the time. 2020 Jetta Type R.
ОтветитьAmazing car......Greetings from Romania
ОтветитьMy best was a trip from Minneapolis to Litchfield, mostly US Hwy 12 with 60 mph speed limits and in town 35 mph speed traps. Averaged 51 both out and back, 2018 Jetta SE 1.4L 5sp manual. Recently had Minneapolis to Denver round trip with crosswinds and headwinds both ways, a few quartering tailwinds. Averaged 43 MPG with passenger and full trunk, I do not travel light. Left Minneapolis in 96 degree weather, but in Minnesota it's a COLD 96 degrees(!) so AC was on whole trip. Want to kill MPG? Idle a lot. Since day 1 avg mpg is 38.9 including winters with snow tires, 59k miles. BTW after TDI scandal VW went conservative on epa numbers. Who needs/wants a hybrid?
ОтветитьThe ford fusion doing donuts 😭😭
ОтветитьI drive a '15 Golf TDI, and the best I've done in it is 46mpg. Those numbers from the 1.5L are really impressive! I wish they still had the Golf in the USA with that engine, but alas, we're an SUV country now.
ОтветитьI have a ‘22 Jetta Sport Aut. I’ve hit 50.2mpg on mine. The sound system is not bad AT ALL if you just use bluetooth. Only when you use Apple Car-Play. I sacrificed using Apple Car-Play so I can enjoy my music. Pretty happy with it. 22k miles in 6 months. Couldn’t be happier! (Coming from a cammed C7 Vette) 😂
ОтветитьI have a 2020 Jetta R. I get 48 mpg on the highway on trips more than 40 miles one direction. Typical airport run 48mpg there, 47 mpg back picking up 2 passengers and baggage. Pretty awesome. #1 feature Blind side monitoring.
Ответитьwhat more do you need in a car? i dont get it.. when i watch other reviews these day, its like everyone is like "ah this car doesnt massage seats" or something like that. and im like yo! a car is a transport tool, a spaceship, ya know what a mean. good stuff. smaller sedans, manual gearbox, efficient engine. good stuff.
ОтветитьHow are the headlights for night driving? I work overnights and in the winter (6pm-6am) that means dark both ways in MN. I’ve been looking at the Jetta Sport. Need to test drive one.
ОтветитьOur 2019 Jetta consistently gives us 50 mpg. I don’t need no stinking’ Prius.
ОтветитьFun fact: if you swipe back on the number in the iPhone calculator app, it’ll delete the last number you put in rather than having to clear the whole thing.
ОтветитьThe petroleum Elantra - 3 season suburban city is pretty consistent at 5.3L/100k - so similar. Elantra 33 / 42 / 37 vs Jetta 29 / 40 / 33 (USA GAL). Turbo's tend to shine on the highway as they are not largely doing a ton of work (torque need is low unless towing or something). My tank must be smaller as it gives me a range of more like 660 KM or something. The sweet spot in the Elantra line - if you can find one - is the hybrid as it costs not a lot more, and you get quite a bit more content (including independent rear end).
ОтветитьMy late 20 Passat with 2.0TSI did get 38mpg on 300mi round trip to Seattle. Pretty good for non hybrid midsize sedan.
ОтветитьIf that shocks you. Try the TDI diesel model. Oh wait can't get that model here anymore. Government has pretty much fixed that for us. Hmm seems that's better then the EVs.
ОтветитьHow the heck are people not flocking to VW dealers to jump on car!? This car's fuel mileage should be a HUGE selling point.
ОтветитьEven this could do 50, imagine what a diesel one would. Perhaps "VW" should invest in "diesel" engines. 😉
ОтветитьIs there a…tachometer in this car?
ОтветитьI have a 19' sel premium with the 1.4 and can confirm it blows the EPA numbers easily. Did a road trip for almost 400 miles and used half a tank with an avg of 54mpg.
ОтветитьThat can’t be accurate, VW would let the world know if they could do that mpg.
ОтветитьIts true,
Drove two of them last year, 47 low - 55 high thats what i got in 2021 jetta 1.4 tsi😊
You probably have to drive 200 miles to get a better reading. Its so little gas used on this video that its hard to make it perfect. I wonder what the automatic will do, but its really impressive that it hit that high. I would totally buy one if it actually hit 54 mpg and automatic. Well done vw
ОтветитьI'm curious about the average mpg though. I owned a 16 mustang GT on the highway if not going over 75mph the car actually got +28mpg. But my daily average was 17-18mpg.
ОтветитьYour average speed was like 65mph )))) The Civic Touring 1.5T CVT sedan had 43.7mpg and the Hatchback Manual 1.5T had 43.9 and there you had 70mph avg speed ))))
ОтветитьWhat a timing. I was looking into a cheap manual car and jetta is one on the list. Awesome MPG. Thank you for the video
