LG OLED,burn in prevention settings & tips

I've tried to use the 4-way zoom option on last year's LG OLED C1 model, but the Aspect Ratio is locked in at 16:9, and the option to change that setting is greyed out. Is there any alternative way to zoom in so that scores and logos at the top corners aren't visible? Thanks!

Hi tech guy I have c2 oled and my menu is different to that. I cant find oled screensaver anywhere. Maybe your c2 was 2021..on 2022 layout has changed from your c2. 😢

I have got my daughter a tv for christmas and her 2 sons game alot as the youth of today tend to do. No way was I getting them an OLED...I went the mini LED route.

How do you change SUBTITLES colour/brightness/format ???

'Oled are brilliant TV's and the best thing since sliced bread'. Let's hold our judgment until year 3-4 and come back and see if we are all saying same thing then. Nothing you can do will prevent burn-in and a dimming image It is inevitable after a few years. If it wasn't a problem then why don't LG and other manufacturers offer burn warranties here in the UK?. I don't normally write comments but I think this is uselful info regarding skyQ & burn in protection.
Their banner at the bottom of the screen when you pause a program is there a lot more than you realise and it always a concern for me. My wife and my kids have a nasty habit of leaving sky on pause for really long periods of time, leaving that banner on screen. It is also there when you bring up the pop up info and rewind/fast forward. (you can remove it from the screen by pressing the back button after you pause)
Follow the instructions on how to zoom the aspect of the screen. Zooming in 1-click is just enough to move the most prominent parts of the pause screen to a different row of pixels.
I move it back and forth every week or so.

Excellent video, I bought an Oled C1 65, do you know how can I adjust the aspect ratio in Netflix to full screen? becase there are always 2 black bars and I dont want my tv tu burn :/

My C1 55' only has 4 Hour. Of cource I bought the C1 in 2022 in Febuary. I'm also in the US, so maybe its different here..I think 2.5 to 3 Hours would be perfect.

I hook up my Apple TV box to my Tv , the problem I have is when I turn off the Tv and turn on my Xbox X the next day , it also turns on my Apple Tv box which I hate .. How do I stop that from happening?

The biggest argument to not buy oled are all these videos out there making videos, lectures and conferences on how to avoid or minimize the risk of burn in. I just can't purchase a TV for this price and leaving with the constant fear of burn in asking constantly myself what am I allowed to watch, how long etc

2022 and I’m thinking of buying an OLED but had the obvious worries about burn in. This video makes me feel a bit better about the idea of getting one. Especially since John Lewis supposedly let you have such burn in problems covered for £140 as well. And your tips are awesome so they will help ease my mind a bit. If I buy it then it would get used quite a lot in a day but at least I’d be doing all I can to prevent it using all your good tips.

I don’t see the auto sync option on my TV oled A1

The settings are worthless, LG won't repair a TV with a burn-in problem, and, frankly after paying more for OLED TVs, I wont buy another over the QLEDs. QLEDs just don't burn-in... ever, even leaving the same channel with a logo on for hours, for days, and for years. Plus, Samsung always fixes or replaces a TV that is subpar, not true with LG.

Get the QLEDs. If you stream content, neither shows off what they can do anyway. You need true 4K with no compression. That is only on DVDs, or hard to find downloads. 4K games just don't push it either.

Get QLED, be happier you saved money, and then you won't have a TV that starts great, but fades fast, and took mucho more money out of your wallet.

I watch a lot of old TV shows and movies and often they are in 4:3 picture mode which leaves a black line on either side. Is it OK to have the black lines while watching older content? Black can’t cause burn in correct? I would rather not keep adjusting the screen size going back and forth between regular programming and old movies and TV shows.

Does a manual pixel refresh effect the life span of the tv?

These remind of plasma TV’s. Good for awhile but will never last as long as a LED TV. Which in my opinion makes them not worth the cost.

I have a question. If a static image is running in the background, but you choose the option for screen saver to turn the screen black, does this prevent burn in? Even if the tv is turned on ?

I had my 1st time burn in Image 2 weeks ago on my LG 65 class C8 series OLED 4K UHD smart webOS TV.

How do I fix it ? I have a PS5 and been playing Apex Legends. An Image from the game got burned in. I'm sad, I never had this happened to me. Please help me save my TV. How can this be fixed? @TheTechGiant

great the all directional zoom adjust was great for football to remove and move the score banner

These setting changes are the same as buying a bike, but not riding it Incase you wear it out.......

Having been playing around with the standard vision setting (Standard) (User), how do I get it to revert to what it was before I messed with it?
I don't want to reset the whole tv.

Today returned my 3 year old LG 55B7 to LG for a panel replacement as it had quite bad screen burn. Had a 5 year guarantee from John Lewis on the set but they said screen burn was not covered. So had to pay LG £200 for what they said was a recognised fault. Asked them to cover this cost but they said NO!

I have just purcahsed a brand new lg 65 nano 756 A, it is Nanocell technology, I have noticed if anything static is left on screen for more then a few minutes it leaves an image retention which fades after 10 to 25 minutes...

This surely can't be normal?

I can't find anything on Nanocell TVs havin this issue, all I find is OLED videos, if you know of anything please it would greatly help, I am going to contact support soon with LG.

Many thanks for your advice, Not sure if you have heard about this but the static bar on the bottom of Sky News chanel has just done a burn on my LG B* OLED tv,
scoured the net and find that it is a problem which has been discussed by owners and Sky , ( who of course deny everything ???)
I have my screen saver in operation which works fine normally , but not on the sky channel ?????.
Are you aware of any proposed class action about this ??, I really feel that SKY have a responsibility for their actions, they are aware of what's happening and haven't deleted the offending bar.

Wanted a Sony oled TV for my pc but i m scared of burnings. Why this all this beautiful oled is so fragile?

I play video games at least 8 to 14 hrs a day, will that cause a burn in on my oiled tv.

I don’t have any kids, but I DO own a 175 lb. Irish Wolfhound who, for reasons beyond my comprehension, will climb into my recliner in the middle of the night, and his ginormous feet sometimes hits the remote which I usually leave on the armrest. So this anti-kid / anti-auto-startup Power Sync feature works great for the big galoot as well.

I had the 55” curved screen, 3D LG OLED TV. After 41/2 years it developed really bad Burn in through watching CNN News and other news channels. Luckily it was still in warranty. Neither LG nor the retailer could repair the TV and I was issued with an e-voucher to purchase a replacement TV. I watched your review on the LG OLED CX 65”, and paid the small difference, I also took out the enhanced warranty for accidental damage and the set-up fee, it was delivered last Sunday. Thanks for the good advice, it is certainly a great TV.

Before doing these settings, my CX would've connect instantly with my iphone via airplay. Now it doesn't connect at all. Which one of the settings do I need to disable in order to get back the airplay feature? Thank you.

Man, this has actually made me even more happy with my Panasonic LED tv. 10 year old device, no smart features, no burn in, no trouble. Those new tvs are just getting more and more complicated and prone to damage.

I want a LG CX but scared of burn in, my tv is on 12 hours a day. Might get Nanocell 86 for gaming for hdmi 2.1
