I realize I misspelled "Cruise Fare" - but it took me 6 hours to upload from the ship, so I am going to just have to live with the embarrassment & all the "fare vs. fair" comments!
ОтветитьThis was an excellent video. I really liked your tone, pace and cadence. It was very relaxing and enjoyable to watch.
ОтветитьExactly how would you book these cruises that you find on cruiseplum???
ОтветитьOne thing people surprisingly overlook in overall cost is overlooking that their city, or a nearby city, is where to start and end the journey. We live in DC, with 2 el cheapo train lines (Amtrak + MARC) to Baltimore, which is a lot cheaper than round trip airfare to a Florida port.
ОтветитьThe best deals out there ate on repositioning cruises. They are usually 14 to 21 days and are very well priced. I booked a 16 day cruise from Seattle to Alaska to Japan for less than 200 bucks. Certainly the airfare back from Tokyo will be expensive, but the bonus comes in that I can jump straight back to Seattle and take a second repositioning cruise 21 days to Miami for just over 200 bucks. A month and a half at sea for under 4K. My military retirement check will pay that in a month and the next half month is living at no cost out of pocket
ОтветитьI didn’t hear you say how to book the cruise once you find out on cruiseplum.
I would imagine that once I find the cruise that I’d like to book and go to the cruise line to book it, they will tell me that they don’t have a room at that rate.
Being a solo cruiser I am always appreciative of any tips on how to get the best deal out there, thank you for the great content!
ОтветитьThanks for info on CruisePlum! I've never heard of it until now!
ОтветитьThanks for explaining Cruiseplum. That is a wonderful site. I usually travel solo. Nice to be able to compare costs.
ОтветитьWhat if I book a cabin for two and I’m the only one that shows up, would I still be let on the cruise?
Would my other “passengers” be marked as a no show?
Don't forget about Airfare, cruise insurance, and what some call gratuities, and others call service charge. (for example, on NCL, it's $20 pp, per day)
These types of gratuities are often not added in until you get on the ship.) The type of gratuities that are added in Booking are for drink and dining packages.
A three week cruise can add an additional $840 to your cost.
Whoa! Cruise plum is a game-changer! It has so many of the functions that I’ve been looking for! Great content!
ОтветитьIt's strange but that website won't send me the verification email . I tried it like five or six times over 2 hours and even checked my spam folder
ОтветитьNo insurance?
ОтветитьThat's a great find Thank You for this! Super easy to navigate.
Ответитьhave you ever used Crucon before?
ОтветитьOMG, you are absolutely the best in cruise blogging. ESPECIALLY THIS VIDEO 🎉 and I am a pretty experienced cruiser and traveler. CRUISEPLUM I have heard of it once. But I have never seen such detailed explanation and benefits of the site! This is most helpful video of everything I have seen!
I absolutely agree with you and have same views on deciding which deal is the best. Especially about solo cabins. I have noticed, too, that other cabins are usually cheaper and obviously bigger. Definitely your new subscriber! THANK YOU for your videos. ❤
Wow! A great, informative video.
ОтветитьI've never cruised before but for some reason have recently got into watching cruise channels like yours.
I saw someone say that they are willing to pay extra for a smaller solo/studio cabin, not for the lounge but for the lack of noise. They said that they're usually a lot quiter, as you don't have kids running up and down the corridor and people having loud conversations etc. I don't know how prevalent that sort of thing is, but they saw it as important.
Thought you might find that interesting. X
I will always get a balcony regardless of whether I travel solo or not!
ОтветитьThank you for sharing your secret! Just wanted to double check, if u r solo cruiser n booking a normal room, do u get charge double for the gratuity or do u just pay the single gratuity? Thanks!!
ОтветитьExcellent Review. Thank you so much. May I ask, would you be so kind to let me know what video editing program you use to do your fancy text over video fly-ins? Thanks.
ОтветитьHow much cash do you take on your cruise travels? Which cruise ship do you recommend the most?
ОтветитьCoffee package?
Next thing, toilet package 🤣🤣😉🤫🤔
Awesome thank you for sharing
ОтветитьSolo travellers as I am, would best be locked down in the cable locker, fed bread and water, but released on shore visits providing they pay for two people on the tours
ОтветитьThank you. Happy cruising!!!
ОтветитьOut of NCL, RCL and Princess, which company buffet has the most international food and is open 24 hrs?
ОтветитьDo you use a travel agency at all? Often they can give you onboard credit to use for gratuities etc. If not, do you just book through the cruise lines?
ОтветитьWhy don’t people like Nassau?
ОтветитьSaw a few of your videos and decided to become a subscriber. By the way, I don't cruise on RCCL. Had a really bad time on a RCCL ship.
ОтветитьHow does it work for meals? I'm sure they have different places to eat on the ships. If love to take my 81 year old mom. Do you ever need to have a passport for a cruise? I don't know if any start in the US and to to press of different countries. Yes...I'm a newbie 😁
ОтветитьThanks so much for all of the info you provide on solo cruising! I am newly "solo" and still have many adventures to experience, so am researching how to do it and not break the bank. I totally agree with you that cruise lines need to get onboard and provide a product for solos, not just hiding us in an interior cabin in the bowels of a ship. Celebrity has a nice veranda option but they drop those cabins in the worst location (by elevators and on top of tender boats, so you're view is not that open). I agree with your method of looking at price per day, but one major thing you're not looking at in cost per day is cruise insurance. Do you cruise without insurance? Or do you have another option for insurance outside of booking for each cruise like a yearly travel insurance? Please share. I'd appreciate your help. 😎
ОтветитьWow what a terrific and informative video. I would give solo cruising a chance now after your great research - thanks so much!
ОтветитьGreat information, Kevin. LUCRETIA
ОтветитьCost per day is a great metric! Thank you, im a solo cruiser as well. Ill start using this.
ОтветитьGreat video with a lot of new info for me. Thanks!
ОтветитьThank you SO MUCH for this!! I have been trying to figure out the onboard cost and no one will tell me!!! I am new to this and I keep booking resorts because I can plan the whole budget. I am so grateful!!!!
ОтветитьThis is very helpful and informative do you include the price of airfare and hotel when you figure out the total cost of a cruise?
ОтветитьThank you for the awesome tips! I have always considered PPD, but figured it out myself. CruisePlum will be a game changer!!
Ответить$599 solo cabin New York to Rome 16 night 😮 they can keep the lounge
ОтветитьTHIS is the video I’ve been looking for for weeks! 🙌🏽🙏🏽
ОтветитьThanks! Very helpful
ОтветитьYES , Many Thanks for this solo info !
ОтветитьSo TRUE! It all boils down to price per day! And Thanks for the tutorial on Cruiseplum, I've used them before but never knew ALL the cool features you pointed out! Thank You! Cruise on Kevin!!
ОтветитьI think you have some great information here but check with a good travel agent they often have prices cheaper then the cruise line and can offer you on board credit, They have group space which often is much cheaper because they have group space held on cabins.
ОтветитьInteresting insights. Thanks for sharing. Cost per day is the ticket… or maybe invite someone to come along sometime. ❤
ОтветитьI think this is the BEST presentation I have ever seen on searching for cheap cruise fares. Excellent job, great search engine . . . WOW!!!!!!! Cruise Plum is a Solo Traveler MUST!
ОтветитьNCL Solo Studio Lounge has the Best coffee machine. It makes espresso, cap, and lattes by the mug 🍺. Save the money by NOT buying the coffee package
ОтветитьGreat video Kevin! I bookmarked CruisePlum to use the next time I'm looking for a cruise.
