I am no fan of General Munir and his poor English but Khalilzad is neither respected or followed in the US anymore after the Afghanistan debacle. The US position is to remain neutral in Pakistan's internal affairs. This is despite Imran Khan insisting he was kicked out by the US through a consipracy and not the simple non cofidence vote which is what really happened.
