Obviously this guy knows nothing about that penetrating frequency of the FIR sauna as a means to remove stored xenoestrogens from plastic in the subcutaneous fat layers. I was taught by an MD of Environmental Medicine the benefits of the FIR sauna for my numerous chronic, incurable, permanent, genetic, life-threatening conditions. We are not meant to have plastics or other man-made toxins/chemicals/drugs stored in us. We were not made with a mechanism to detox them, as we do with toxins like heavy metals. Sweat is the only way to mobilize those compounds from the fatty stores.

For many disabled people that are unable to exercise and work up a sweat and detox through that mechanism, the FIR sauna is the only way to sweat. The FIR frequency also helps detox heavy metals and other toxins like pesticides stored in the fat. This doc rightfully claims we did not evolve to have that frequency inside us from the sun, but we certainly did not evolve with petrochemicals and plastics either! Heavy metals belong in the earth, not in our bodies causing cancers and other diseases.

I had 23 years of abnormal liver function tests after military toxic exposures. Alternative therapies including the FIR sauna reversed the liver damages from the toxic exposures and kept me from needing the liver transplant I was told I would need someday, back in 1987.

Heat shock is indeed a concern, due to the biphasic bell curve known with photobiomodulation. Someone in touch with their bodies can indeed feel the shift when once has crossed the benefit/harm dose.

FIR radiations are emitted by any object presenting a temperature above the absolute zero, including the human body at room temperature. Sean is a great doctor and his health protocols are excellent. This is an area that he will eventually understand better and change his mind about.

The rationale seems insubstantial. On this basis, we would never eat supplements or cooked food or live in houses or wear clothes, or wear spectacles — because these are all adaptations of what is inherently offered by nature.

Wrong, the first sign of metabolic disease is ravenous/desperate hunger just a few hours after eating. All else, including the accumulation of visceral fat, follows on from there.

So no idea, no scientific studies, just this guys opinion. Plus has no idea how long the earth has been in existence just guessing. There are over 50 ways to measure how old the earth is, almost all of them point to a young earth. Carbon dating proves the earth is young, even if their scale is off, many things that are supposed to be millions of years old like diamonds show carbon 14 in them. Nothing over 50,000 years can have carbon 14 in it. The earth is young. So I think this whole video is ridiculous.

So he's just speculating based on his bias towards what he thinks is "natural"; zero research to back it up. There is not a large amount of research but there is zero evidence of harm. The whole idea of a sauna, why they are beneficial, is that it heats the body internally, mimicking a short, mild fever. This activates all sorts of metabolic pathways that may speed injury healing and boost immunity. Infrared and far infrared saunas get the same results with less discomfort and in less time than a conventional "Finnish" sauna.

IR and FIR saunas are particularly good for detoxing heavy metals and other enviro pollutants. They come directly out of the body in sweat, bypassing putting any burden on the liver or kidneys.

Infrared chest jackets are being used to treat chest inflammation in critically ill patients E.g., covid. Maybe it’s something that should be used when there is a medical indication that the short term benefits outweigh the long term risks. The patients are wheeled out into the sun for 20 min a day once they are well enough to be mobile. This appears to backup the claims made here.

Infrared and near-infrared light improve mitochondrial function. Having the wavelengths penetrate the tissue helps more cells improve mitochondria. Mitochondria power the cells. Apparently, this doctor doesn't know that -- or chooses to ignore it.

Here is why you will go back in your infrared sauna after reading my comment. I am not sure why Sean has a blind spot to the fact that the solar radiation he talks about, is absorbed by the earth, and re radiated as FAR INFRARED waves. Humans have been bathed in this FAR INFRARED radiation from the earth surface and atmosphere since inception. The molten core of the earth sends lava up to the surface that emits heat as FAR INFRARED. Why he has chosen to demonize the natural radiant energy of the earth is beyond me.

I have to disagree on this. It's true humans had no infrared red heat until they began to use fire. Most of the heat you feel from sitting around a fire is radiation from infrared.
Wood stove is the same as a carbon infrared panel

swedish saunas run close to 98F (210F), just like in Japan. All you need is 10 to 15 min in those. 170F is way too "cold" waste time to get you to start sweating.

As a finn sauna is not so serious. You can sit there without thinking anything else or talk with somebody and throw water in when you want. You can go out to swim of just out or cold shower and go back in when you want. Sauna is nice way to let it go. It’s hot and that is why its relaxing. (Not like mild steamrooms.)
