While I do agree that Evil Morty is the ultimate villain, this was also the only chance Rick would have to take revenge on Rick Prime. And while it might be the less strategic move to not stop Evil Morty, I do think it’s the most human thing to do for Rick to finally finish Rick Prime. Rick’s ultimate flaw is caring too much about the people he loves to let them go. Nothing he does can bring Diane back, but now Evil Morty has the power to erase every Beth, Summer, Morty, Jerry, everyone Rick cares about. It’s very refreshing to see his human incredibly flaws resurface

Like the entire season was just filler without Justin it's nothing

Loved how well Evil Morty identity was explored, build and presented. This episode shows how impactful he also is. Rick, Morty and Evil Morty would've been dead if they did not combine their portal weapons.

They essentially closed a big chapter of this series........ And it was the biggest cheap shot for this show that I have ever seen

RIP Rick and Morty, without Justin it's not the same.

I like that they showed how much more powerful evil Morty is than Rick prime when we first find out who prime is and the back story and evil Morty left I thought they were revealing the true big bad but evil Morty accomplishes what Rick has been trying to do his whole life inside a day and he beats Rick prime our Rick was literally dead beaten but evil Morty beats him with relatively no damage and then casually takes the most powerful weapon in the multiverse

lol me and my brother been watching this show together for so long I wish I knew what this episode was gonna be before I watched it so I we could have watched it together never would have thought this would just be a midseason episode out of nowhere

would've loved to see rick torture rick prime a bit more after all he went through maybe torture him emotionally as well and like some backstory of why rick prime left his family and dint care about his wife

It's been an amazing season

Check out the IGN review of Season 7 and all the comments were filled with S7E1 opinions and conclusions that the show was already doomed, some completely ignoring every great episode between Season 2 and 7. Because some people refuse to change or let their favorite characters evolve beyond cynical caricatures, the same people who idolize Peaky Blinders, The Sopranos, and South Park for all the edgy wrong reasons. And as this episode goes to show, vengeance doesn't serve anyone well.

The only issue I have is that they just dropped this ending in the middle of the season, with basically no lead up to it.
And the next episode it just goes back like nothing happened.

It felt a bit weird. But the episode was AMAZING. Season 7 is awesome and a reminder of why I love this show so much

After seeing the writers I can tell why the episode was so good!

I think (and I would love to be proven wrong here please) that if “evil” Morty does come back and there would be a fight scene and a whole final showdown thing between him and Rick I’d be pretty disappointed. I can’t help but wonder what directions this show could go to, I certainly hope it isn’t that.

I think it should’ve taken 2 episodes to deal with the series mane plot line , it doesn’t feel proportionate to its long building up

"Revenge bad" is almost always hamfisted and incredibly shortsighted and stupid. I'm extremely sad to see Rick and Morty do the same stupid tired incorrect message. The writers say he has a future, but they also have "evil" morty say it's exactly the same and always is. Contradictory no? I honestly doubt they will change anything since they are already being hypocritical. Considering the adventures they went on all the time for 7 seasons without dealing with Rick Prime except like twice, what is seriously the difference? More interdimensional cable?

Rick beating that version of himself is a striking metaphor for both Justin Roiland being booted off of the team and also confronting your own defensiveness and mental health to stop hurting those around you. Notice how not only Rick is covered in blood, but also his Morty returns home with blood on him. It goes to show that the process of catharsis not only hurts yourself but those around you, but ultimately is the only way you can confront a version of yourself that you dislike.

I really appreciated the bare knuckle death beatdown. I don't think any other method could've properly conveyed Rick's raw animalistic rage. There was nothing left to say or think about or plan, he just needed to feel this guy's death as he came apart bit by bit, blow by blow. Let's face it, we all wanted to punch Rick Prime in the face at some point, Rick punched him for all of us.

The infinite Diane death thing is interesting but in the Christmas episode didn’t Rick literally give Beth a picture “from a universe where your mother didn’t die”

to tell the truth I dont know how to feel about this, I guess I feel kind of sad. Probably because we saw Rick C-137 really is inferior to Rick Prime haven't been able to defeat him without Evil Morty, but it would make Rick Prime the strongest character hitherto since even Evil Morty couldn't defeat him alone. But what about Evil Morty having the Omega gun? He won't hesitate killing Rick, like Rick Prime did with Slowmobius.... I dunno it's just sad

Dan Harmon says that there a place in that there are parts of us that might cost us what we really want.... but Rick always wanted to kill Rick Prime

Evil Morty: "I'd rather hear how."
That dialogue makes so much more sense after the climax of the episode.

That being said, I like Evil morty more as a character who just wants to be left alone. I assumed that him getting hands on the weapon was just his way of achieving a stalemate - a threat that he never intends to use. But this video makes it seem like he is actually evil and will show up in later seasons as a villain again.

I think the next project for Rick is to bring Diane back from the multi-verse.

What I love is that despite C-137 having no joy/purpose the only thing he still engaged in actively was poking fun at Jerry at the dinner table.

Now that he's done with revenge, I think that Rick wouldn't get past the fact of Diane being taken away from him and at some point he would try to bring her back. Sure, she has been erased from all dimensions, but seems like most Ricks miss her and maybe they could even do a collaborative effort to come up with a way of reconstructing her mind, based on recordings of her and memories of people that interacted with her in her respective world (as I think the mind part is the hardest (probably maybe even impossible), thinking that Rick could also do some thing with the genes of Beth and Diane's parents to get her exact body).

[I yield this idea to the Rick and Morty show, so they can exploit it as they see fit.]

The BEST episode of the whole series. And special thanks to the scriptwriter for slowly revealing the story through all those seasons, and then dropping the bomb all of a sudden, thats some good storytelling. I wish mainstream movies nowadays had such kind of suspense, plottwists and villains.

The only thing I didn't like about this episode was it never explained how Evil Morty got so smart. If he was just this smart to begin with, he would've never have needed to be his Rick's sidekick. I was expecting some transformation in his IQ or something. Also, his motivation didn't add up. He gets fed up with his Rick's adventures one day and decides to not only enslave his Rick but so many other Mortys across the multiverse? That reasoning just seemed weak.

Evil Morty making his return and helping Rick track him down and serve him on a silver platter sounds like a finale episode on paper. However, it seems like Evil Morty was and still is Rick's biggest villain. He has outsmarted Rick at every turn and now has his life in the palm of his hand. I'm sure Rick will try and figure out a way to kill him so I'm excited to see how things unfold throughout the season. I don't think they'll put a button on that storyline this season but maybe next season. Evil Morty is a serious threat and I don't see how Rick can beat him, especially at this point.

Last week's spaghetti episode was dogshit. You guys made up for it with Unmortricken. Thanks!

Best episode of the season. Hands down. Rick finally gets his revenge against Rick Prime, and Evil Morty is BOSS.
