It looks beneficial for air and moisture flow, but I imagine some plants will grow roots beyond the holes when they need more space.. and that might make them difficult to repot without damaging it too much? Or will they avoid the holes because theres not enough moisture?

I did, but a bottom leaf is turning yellow and I water about every 10 days.

All my orchids are rescues from Publix supermarkets...

When their glass pots break or the flowers fall off the company throws them in the trash... they don't even try to mark them down!

Omg I was you a few days ago at Home Depot! Dumping out all the water sitting it the plants where they over watered and sniffing the rot and yelling “what they hell are they doing to all of you?!” At the plants! 😂

Just reported mine today, and uses product w/perlite, sphagnum and bark - some of my roots were brown & ugly, buy leaves all looked healthy! ps used Terra cotta orchid pots that come in 3 pack;)

I had to cut mre than half the roots. My orchids are from wally world. The roots were tightly packed with spagnum moss, many were broken. Hope this works. My first orchids.

Alcohol only kills viruses if rubbed on for 10 seconds, and it only works for non-porous surfaces, so if you have some plant sap or bits of plant material, it may not work.

Those pots are honestly awful the roots grow out the holes and when u repot the brake plus drys out way to fast

I put my orchids in 50% sphagnum moss (fluffed, not packed), 45% orchid bark, and 5% horticultural charcoal. I also use an orchid spray fertilizer.

My orchids really dry out quite rapidly and I really want to keep my watering days down hence the sphagnum.
