I remember as a kid from the 70's I was mesmerized by this thinking....I want to jump in the tv and be a part of the peanut gallery. I would just dance like the girl in pink in front of the tv.

Ah, the 60's Christmas specials were the best with the exception of "A Christmas Story" from the 80's. Charlie Brown and the Rankin/Bass specials were a staple in my house and are still to this day some almost 60 years later.

The year this came out a middle aged couple with no children invited all of the neighborhood kids to their house to watch it on their COLOR tv. We each got a can of pop and a snack. Crazy, would anyone do something like that today?
