Falafel came from Egypt.
ОтветитьWhat is he going to do with the onion peels?
ОтветитьNo blind test? Come on. But seriously really enjoyed the vid, LOVE falafel
ОтветитьI was so proud of myself following your technique exactly...till I forgot to fold the baking powder in!! Dang it. But it was still delicious! I eyeballed spices because I did less than a cup of chickpeas. Wanted to just make enough for myself 2 meals. I absolutely loved how you first pulsed the chickpeas and then added them after. It made the consistency perfect. I baked mine because I don't get along with trying to fry stuff! 400 for about 22 minutes. Flipped em once. I made a green goddess dressing with my left over cilantro and parsley and made a big salad with beets, avocado and crispy lentils. Winner winner falafel dinner!
ОтветитьCan I cook it in oven instead of deep fried ?
ОтветитьY’all ever had falafel with leeks in it
ОтветитьI personally mix both garbanzo beans and egyptians beans with equal amounts. Then, continue to the same ingredients.
Ответитьyour garlic sauce should have tahini init, but it does not I would give it 👎, falafel fan sorry.
ОтветитьYour first recipe is almost identical to mine, except that mine also has red pepper flakes and baking soda, not baking powder. Can’t imagine it without a little heat! Will have to try the fava bean version. Thanks for letting me know you can get them peeled ( though I do love, love, love them fresh from my garden for other recipes too, even though it’s a chore to peel them).
ОтветитьCan I hit the LIKE button twice !?! Love your channel, Chef ❣
ОтветитьI have problem with falafel it was not fully cooked inside and when I was fried it was dark 😢😢😢
ОтветитьFealafel is just 'Daal-vada' in India.😂
ОтветитьWhy onion and green onion? For color?
ОтветитьI love falafel so thanks for the receipe, I think masala vada is a cousin it has a fabulous crunchy feel and flavour is amazing
Ответитьby the way there is no middle east Flafel .. it's only pure Egyptian
ОтветитьMy favourite is the lebanese falafel
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьYou're missing major player in the Egyptian falafel or Taameya which is Egyptian leek and as an option you can stuff it with onion, tomatoes and chilli mix and enjoy
ОтветитьCeff Billy I eat falafal and it reminds me the taste of Indian black gram fritters or we call it bhajiya, ceff the bhajiya is very easy to cook without much kitchen parafernia just black gram flour and any vegetables you can imagine but best with onion just give it a try it's wonderful and served with green coriander condiment (sauce we call it chatni)
ОтветитьNot the green onion but rather leek.
Ответить@:035 in what world is that one cup of chickpeas? 1 Cup is about 164 grams
ОтветитьMy husband loves falafels! I’m gonna try this recipe. Thanks for sharing!
Ответитьlooking yummy! never tried the fava falafel but shure gonna try😊 when you showed the dried favas it looked like lupini, guess gonna try with lupini as well 😂
ОтветитьPS - Got to have some tahini with your falafel!! It makes the dish and it's definitely not the same without it.
ОтветитьI have a good friend who is from Cairo. His wife shared her falafel recipe and instead of green onions, she preferred to use leeks. Just wash the leeks well. They tend to be full of sand.
ОтветитьSo yummy😍
ОтветитьAs an Egyptian, Don't use baking powder. Use an egg or two instead. Thats way better, trust me 😊
2nd idea,
If you have boiled egg, try to cover it with row falafel and go to frying pan and enjoy as well 😊
Arabic food is amazing ❤
ОтветитьTaamiye. The chickpea Falafel is an Yemeni Israeli variant for people allergic to Fava beans (some Iraqi Jews have this issue). Original Taamiye is Egyptian
ОтветитьI just came across your videos and I'm hooked LOVE that you use both grams and cups 💞
ОтветитьThe garlic sauce it's allioli in Catalonia! 😍😍
ОтветитьA la recepta Egípcia li falta coriandre ja que és important. ❤
ОтветитьFalafel is a wonderful Egyptian dish, in addition to koshary and Egyptian appetizers
ОтветитьCairo falafels are the bomb! Loved how Egyptians make them! 😋 Soooo good. 😊
ОтветитьThank you Chef Billy. Your falafel recipes were great (I also love eating so many pieces of falafel whilst cooking it) 😉😁
Ответить❤👨🍳🔪🥙
ОтветитьPersonally i prefer to crack an egg on the Egyptian flafel ( Ta'mia) instead of baking soda,
Also u forgot to put garlic with the fava beans.
You can try "Foul" the Egyptian way too ,iam pretty sure you will like it ✨
ОтветитьBarley i find chefs who really cares about details in food. It means, they are really passionate of thier work and career ... love and respect from Egypt ❤🎉
ОтветитьTaamyia ... not Flafel ...Egyptian kitchen always the best vegan kitchen in the wohle world 🇪🇬 💓
ОтветитьLove the defiance, despite grams or ml's being far more precise, and that we live in modern times where u know about grams and ml's... you still use cups
ОтветитьI have seen that before they throw the filafel on the hot oil , either by their small finger or a round flat knife make a cross so that the middle cooks better.
Ответить😂
ОтветитьHello, what should i do if the falafel dough fell apart? it is very moist from the chickpeas which i had soaked overnight - is it normal?
ОтветитьForget about these , go to an Indian restaurant & you will find 10 different varieties of so called falafel's with another 10 different chutneys to dunk in , it made of 10 different dals ( lentils ) , ready made chickpeas flour, India being the largest producer in the world , onions , garlic , dill , mint , curry leaves including coconut with all kinds of spices is widely used .
Ответитьzimno mu w uszy cha cha cha
ОтветитьGreat video, I made falafel using dill, it was very good. I am going to try your recipes which I think will be delicious. Thank you
