Good vid!!
ОтветитьI watched several videos on this topic and was wandering, why no one is mentioning the lock ring spacer which goes between the first cog and the lock ring?
ОтветитьGroovy 👍
ОтветитьAnyone have any idea what grease he is using?
ОтветитьThank you! It had been a while since I last installed one so this was quick and easy to follow.
Time I probably bought some better tools too.
Good God the best instructional video I’ve seen . I loved the overview the the detail and the perceived pull on the wrench of 50 lbs at 8 inches was amazingly helpful. Thank you very much.
ОтветитьI think cassette are retarded funny how i see this guy take it off with ease yet i just ruined three nuts trying to get the daft thing off at this point I think am going burn the wheel just cause I need too
ОтветитьGlad I watched this before attempting to remove my cassette tonight. You saved me from a lot of headaches Calvin!
ОтветитьThis comes several years too late, but I felt the urge to thank Park Tool and C. Jones for their tutorials. They made my first rear wheel swap a piece of cake. I knew exactly what to do after watching this.
ОтветитьYay Calvin!
ОтветитьThe hub on my Trek has two diameters. Does anyone know what type and Manufacturer this hub is?
ОтветитьGod! I finally know how to install the cassette with 40N;m
ОтветитьMade a chain whip by nailing the old chain to a length of wood...... It worked😂
ОтветитьAbsolute life saver. Thank you for this. Really helpful.
ОтветитьTop tip, you can also use a chain oil filter removal tool to hold the cassette in place
ОтветитьThank you Sir !
ОтветитьGreat help, was able to change my sprocket quickly and easily, thanks so much for these great videos
ОтветитьHow do I get the plastic piece off after I took off the cogs
ОтветитьBest tutorials
ОтветитьI bought a second hand bike cuz I was broke, it was broken and I didnt know anything about bikes... ended up repairing and buying all the tools... now I am building bikes thanks to you ❤😂
ОтветитьGreat video. Clear and concise information.
ОтветитьI returned to this video after five years. It helped me rediscover my lock-tool, chain-whip and wrench. I do worry that I may have replaced the spacers the wrong way around though.
ОтветитьThese aren't your dad's bikes 🤦♂️
ОтветитьLegend
ОтветитьNice
ОтветитьExactly what I was looking for! Thank you Park Tool!!!
ОтветитьLooks good. Thanks.
Ответитьshop guru 100-%
ОтветитьThese videos are incredibly useful
ОтветитьThank you!
ОтветитьHi Calvin. I don’t have a torque wrench. How do i know by feel when it is tight enough so i don’t overtighten, or undertighten when putting the casette back on? Will be doing this for the first time, and i’ll be putting the cassette on the new wheelset.
ОтветитьCampagnolo too proud to use the same lockring as everyone else? News flash.. nobody likes proprietary/oddball fittings.
ОтветитьThanks Calvin - I'll be taking on your advice today...!
ОтветитьYou are a great teacher as well as a great videographer Calvin.
ОтветитьExcellent, very well put together.
ОтветитьThanks lester.
ОтветитьIf i replaice my cassette to a bigger one do i need to upgrade my rear derailleur
ОтветитьGreat video, thanks Calvin! It was nice to meet you in the Grand Junction airport and I appreciate the wrench you gave me! Cheers
ОтветитьWhat if you're unable to unscrew the cassette?
ОтветитьI am proper stuck, Never done a cassette removal before, I used a Bbs02 so I'm wondering if the torque of the motor might of tightened things up a bit more, I don't know, Either way I cannot get the cassette off, I want to still use is as I struggled to get the back wheel and new derialier, Cost of living is hitting me hard, it's why I got the E-bike for, I suffer CPTSD so the bike is a must as public transport is a no go for me, I got an electric scooter, But it's fast, Really fast, And I'm just waiting for that police officer to say right I'm taking it, I've been pulled over on it before, Over 5 times, Generally they ok, I got helmet on ect, Might start wearing my body armour now, Ice and small wheel don't mix well, lol....
But yeah I cannot get the cassette off a 29inch wheel, I will have another go, But I might have to buy a new flipping cassette now, They costly ain't they, I only needs a 9 speed cassette, Any donations or anyone got a cassette for sale as cheap as possible...lol.....
I'm desperate to get this bike running, I love on 3rd floor so I got carry a 36gk E-scooter up 3 flights of steps, I'm waiting to see a heart specialist..
With the bike walk mode helps me get the bike up the steps, No carrying a 36kg E-scooter, So yeah I'm desperate to get this bike sorted, I can't put a new derialier and swing arm on an old buckled spoke snapped wheel, The swing arm will snap again won't it??
Is a Carrera hellcat any different lol, I can't find a video specifically for changing cassette on a Carrara hellcat lmt edition....
The bike is on my channel, It's a great looking bike, And with the bbs02 it just looks the part, I'm missing my bike now, I got get it fixed, Any tips apart from holding the locking nut in place???
İ have question for you. İs fr-5h compatible with 15 mm nut?
ОтветитьI know this video is old, but I got to say thank you! I've done maintenance on every part of a bike except 2 parts that I was always hesitant with... the cassette area and crank area. This video has helped me tremendously! It's WAY easier than I thought. Removed the old and installed the new cassette in about 10 minutes! Thank you Calvin for yet another helpful tutorial!
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьThis is really useful but the complete lack of standardization in the cycling industry is an absolute disgrace. Every single time I have to work on my bikes I have the wrong tool or the wrong component, it's a nightmare and one of the reasons a sell all my bikes every few years and do another sport. We are being ripped off to an incredible degree with almost zero fucks given for the consumer.
ОтветитьGreat vid Thanks
ОтветитьOn installation, no mention of lightly greasing the splines. Is that not accepted practice?
ОтветитьPark tool what do you call the driver attached to the torque wrench when you tightened the cassette??? Where can I find it??
ОтветитьFor 40 years I had freewheels. My new commuter bike had a cassette. Now I have new Park tools. Thanks!
ОтветитьI have the right tools. but the cassette was too tired to remove 😭
