love it!!!
ОтветитьWhy not marry the area where the couches meet with something to not make it seem so obvious that they are alike
ОтветитьGood job ❤🦋
ОтветитьI love how cohesive this space is. And I love the colors!!
ОтветитьNot a lover of mid century, but this is beautiful
ОтветитьLove you. Monica.
ОтветитьLove it!!
Ответитьwell done. cohesive and colorful! ❤❤
ОтветитьAlways interesting to see how mid-century modern is interpreted in the present day. Growing up back then, I never saw anything that even remotely resembled a mid-century modern living room as it is represented now. Sure, some people had some of that furniture in their finished, panelled basements - but real mid-century was not mid-century modern as presently interpretted. For living rooms, usually some more modern pieces were coordinated with older pieces. Maybe I just didn't have any friends whose parents were hip or groovy, though. It is important to distinguish between mid-century modern pieces, the "iconic" (cliche) mid-century modern pieces, and entire mid-century modern rooms (which I never once saw). Even the "iconic" pieces of the period were not common in middle-class homes in the part of the country where I grew up.
ОтветитьWonderful makeover. and I love mid-century modern.
ОтветитьPurdy❤
ОтветитьSo fun!
ОтветитьI am envious, they have such a huge master bedroom. I wasn't sure about the color choices, but it all worked in the end. The only thing I would add would be a table lamp or floor lamp between the two chairs in the TV nook. I'm a big reader and I would want some light.
ОтветитьFor me personally there are too many colors. But you did exactly what they liked.
ОтветитьWhoooaaa looks great!
ОтветитьThose turquoise walls need blond wood furniture, a red sectional, beige room size rugs with slubs of turqoise, red and gold, two swivel chairs, and printed draperies. That's the livingroom I grew up in.
ОтветитьThis isn't mid-century, its retro.
Nearly same era, different style.
A few mid-century pieces yes, but the overal look is retro.
My opinion;
The sofas aren't a comfortable lounge area. They have an active sit, so are very efficient in a more formal living space. (Low back support and short sitting)
The TV is made to be a centerpiece, and has an odd placing in front of the real pretty curtains, of which the color is completely off with the big accent petrol/blue/green.
The blue-green made the space feel colder and all colors are contrast, it's like a fight to where the great wood accents lose.
The high vase on the table isn't practical, love the table tho.
My idea to make it mid-century;
Take the petrol OR the red/pink out of the equation.
Get a plant, something tall and green. Like a mini tree.
Create a storage wall and place the TV in there; the wall made of wood to match the mid-century pieces and you can hide the TV when you want.
Cut down on the velvet.
👏👏👏👏👏
ОтветитьFANTASTIC!!
ОтветитьLove it 💜
ОтветитьI LOVE mid century modern and color so this was super up my alley! I'll definitely have to take some of these tips for my own home
ОтветитьSo lively!
ОтветитьI love color, especially jewel tones and rainbow things and this was right up my alley. It was awesome you could use their existing pieces and have them go with the new things. Those sofas are SO gorgeous and they look really comfortable. I love the creative wallpaper / paint piece thingy and the drawings that Shana partially painted. Everything just came out so awesome! Monica, you just seem to be an endless font of cool, creative ideas. I love this series! :)
ОтветитьWhat I love about this is that a lot of us don't have the budget to remove walls and/change an entire layout. I really miss shows that are just about styling styling. Just moving furniture around and adding accents and colors that can literally transform a room without having to do any major renovations. This turned out really beautiful.
ОтветитьYay! MCM!
ОтветитьLove it! Great job👍
ОтветитьThat looks beautiful! So full of life and cozy...
I wouldn't choose this style for my house, but I will steal some ideas from this makeover 😁
Absolutely nailed it. Love love love it. These three spaces flow so seamlessly into one big open living space. Was not sure about the colour choices at reveal diy time but they turned out just fantastic.
ОтветитьFinally.....C-O-L-O-R-S!!!! I like 🤩👍
ОтветитьLooks like a nursery school
ОтветитьSo many great art ideas that I want to steal.
ОтветитьShe's back!!
Ответить😬 let’s start with what I did like: the two couches. The end.
ОтветитьLove this show!
ОтветитьClicked on this video because the color on the wall looked a lot like the one I just put in my own living room, turns out it’s literally the exact same color 😂😂😂. I love it!
Ответитьlove it
ОтветитьThe light fixture in the dining space really pops against the new wall colour 😍 love this space!
ОтветитьLove the space buuutttttt Monica! The wood panels is a massive NO!
ОтветитьDon't like anything about this makeover.
ОтветитьAbsolutely 💯 ❤️ this room. Fabulous 👌 it's exactly my style. Monica you awesome.
ОтветитьLoved everything except the painted panels all in a row. I think they would have been better in a grid.
ОтветитьSo, what's going on with the female homeowner with that half shirt out and half tucked thing???
ОтветитьThis looks absolutely fabulous!!!! Well dine to achieve so much with relatively little budget wise!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏💜💜💜💜💜💜
ОтветитьLoove the colour!! And monica of course!!!
ОтветитьYou had me a little worried there, those colors are everything I don’t want…….. I know I’m not the mid century modern person lol but, but the rooms turn out really really good!!! Love everything about it and even that you had them do their own artwork! That living room with all those windows absolutely gorgeous you don’t say that too often nowadays. Can’t wait till the next one!
ОтветитьMy favorite. I do love Lowe's. They extended me credit and delivered for free my Dremel tool set and flex shaft! Plus they are so design forward and more fun than those tacky "other guys". Plus, that house was divine!
ОтветитьLooks very HGTV
ОтветитьThis is fantastic.
ОтветитьYou knocked this out of the park. Absolutely stunning!!
