I lost footage - How I now recover and backup - Davinci Resolve 16

I added a project for some reason it added everything so i tried deleting them off the project but it ended up deleted all my videos permanently i dont understand why.

Wtf I had all my footage and I tried doing some recording stuff and then when I went back a big chunk of it was gone? Wtf where the hell did it go?

Does anyone have the issue where it says ”DaVinci Resolve failed to save project” while editing and with no back up or auto save. I need help so bad, I don’t wan’t to leave the project because then it will all be gone.

Ok so I was editing in davinci resolve 14 and then I started exporting but after 11 percent my laptop hanged and my mouse did not move at all and then I turned my laptop off and turned it on but the footage did not save how do I get it back

I was editing for around 4 hours and it crashed, I got in the zone and forgot to save any of it except for the first few seconds, unless auto save is on I didn't have it on. And I don't know if comments tell the time they are posted but it got really late when it crashed so not only did I lose 4 hours of progress but it was super late too.

Thanks John. I am subscribed, but just ran into this video when trying to backup my database. The media management portion at the end is awesome (saving the trimmed portion of your footage). I would recommend changing your video title, or just creating another one with those awesome nuggets of info.

how do i recover an unsaved project? i've tried everything but nothing worked, i crashed while rendering and now my project is gone, is there any way to get it back?

Thanks very helpful, I wasn't even aware of the Media Management option and was wondering how best to archive my first project without taking all the bloat across. I have subscribed, keep up the good work.

how do i get back footage because my davinci crashed whilst trying to render, i know i saved the project more than one time but i can't find it.

Huh, I understand the first part, gonna possibly have to watch the last part a couple more times as I'm not exactly sure what's happening with media management...sometimes it takes a couple times for stuff to click in my brain and for me to understand.
